within an instant, he's gone. he's gone from her and she's left there alone to process. it all comes welling up in her stomach and chest. it's red hot, like the lava of a magcargo. she can't even think straight and it makes her want to scream.[break][break]

but she doesn't. instead, she just hits her knees and buries it all in, deep down into the dark places she doesn't let her sunshine personality light up.[break][break]

lyonel moves to comfort her with an rub against her. she lets the minior in her hand fall to her lap, reaching up to grab at lyonel's fur in comfort. they are her rocks, her solid foundations. they are real.[break][break]

"you saw them both, right?" lyonel's whine confirms he did and she grips tightly. "i don't know what to think anymore... i don't know what's real."[break][break]

the minior in her lap floats up and bops against her gently, a soothing motion. she lifts watery eyes up and smiles, laughing. they're right, she'll be okay. but for the moment? she's not. for the moment? she can't think straight. all she can think is...[break][break]

after having helped Greyson Connors quell the beast, and figuring out it was somehow electric and rock in its typing, francie had helped heal the pokémon as much as she could before doing a little bit of extensive research. something called iron thorns, a creature from the paradox.[break][break]

"electric rock," she mumbled to herself and the bionic vibrations beneath her seemed to agree. "and you've got a lot of sick moves from what i've seen..."[break][break]

powerful, no question. she beamed down at the beast she was sitting atop, hands on it's metal head.[break][break]

"and you're so full of life! man, to know what you've seen... and like, is this how tyranitars change? is this what happens like, in the future maybe???"[break][break]

her words meant nothing to the beast but it lit up and flashed at her in delight anyway; it liked her attitude.

although it might come as a surprise to those like remiel who had just met her, francie was no stranger to being a 'target' of rocket's. though, she didn't hear words like traitor thrown around too often and really, francie wasn't so sure that they were well deserved. remiel seemed like a fine guy to her.[break][break]

but then again, she likely seemed like a precious ball of unwavering sunshine to him.[break][break]

"we're backing him up." she told her carracosta and dusk lycanroc. they both nodded, and francie was sure to get up and make her way next to remiel, smiling confidently despite the bit of nerves in her stomach.[break][break]

"tell ya one thing. i've only ever run away from rocket once, and i'm not doin' that again. plus, these two are chump's change compared to SILAS BLACKWELL."[break][break]

being targeted by the ex-boss of team rocket, back when she would argue it was a lot less mafia and a lot more cut-throat terror, quelled her nerves a bit. gave her a bit of that confidence she fronted.[break][break]

"louie!" her words are sharp, command seizing attention. the dusk lycanroc takes the hit from the shadows and her carracosta is enveloped into a wave of water, rushing forward to hit the metagross with an aqua jet.[break][break]

the shadows wrapped around louie give him the ability to be close. his fangs drip with darkness as he uses his teeth to crunch down on the shadows, snarling as he does so, eyes blood red.[break][break]

"traitor or not, if he was your friends, you should at least try to hear his side of the story, right?! not just lash out? wouldn't that make you two the traitors to the friendship, and not him?"[break][break]

she's speaking generally, of course. she doesn't know their stories, just information she's gleaned from being cornered by them.

"yeah, there's no way i'm gonna pass up an opportunity to figure out what's up with this tyranitar."[break][break]

while she didn't have one of her own, having left it with her sibling to help her with the dig when the barrier finally came down from around hoenn, francie was well aware of what a tyranitar looked like. this looked like a mecha-tyranitar and she was, admittedly, obsessed.[break][break]

the paradox pokémon turned, hearing the drumming and the two talking. bionic noises rumbled in its chest as he peered at the two humans and their pokémon.[break][break]

"w-whoa, hey. we come in peace, i swear." francie smiled brightly. "you okay? looks like that gunk got all up in your circuits there... i can try and help clean ya out."[break][break]

somehow. she wasn't sure how yet, but somehow.[break][break]

the warbling from its chest increased and a few sparks started to come from it. suddenly the floor was covered in an electric terrain, spreading across the cave. could be it was paranoid from all that gunk, could be it was just warning them not to try anything funny.

francie gave a beaming smile, landing with tilly to help catch caleb after the bang. tilly never touches the ground and francie holds up her mega-bracelet. energy surrounds the bracelet as the aerodactyl mega evolves, screeching in triumph and lashing out toward the battle field.[break][break]

"nice one caleb!" francie encourages as her aerodactyl mega evolves and dives towards the rockets with a giga impact from the sky.[break][break]

mary let's out a triumphant yell as she swept her own tail smack into the head of one of the rocket pokémon, sending it tumbling away with her aqua tail. nicky backed her up by burrowing into the ground, the attacks from the pokémon that were trying to take him out missing thanks to his dig.[break][break]

"we'll knock 'em dead." like tilly had a one of the opposing rocket's pokémon.

francie's eyes widened as norman was hit and she quickly kicked tilly, making her descend down toward norman. leaping off, francie scoops the minior up and inspects him, then returns him before looking toward the man who defeated her.[break][break]

"so that's the power of a sygna suit and the ultra beasts."[break][break]

this has her smiling, determination filling her expression as she stands, pointing at the other. tilly wraps her up and picks her up, taking off at the sky.[break][break]

"just you wait! i'll get a sygna suit and be just as unstoppable, you'll see!"[break][break]

what she doesn't realize is she only just barely defeated the person, but she's not focusing on that. only on how she can get stronger. she makes a note to look into these sygna suits.[break][break]

maybe BARNABY FINCH will know something about them, so that she doesn't have to ask FERNANDO SILPH... though, if worse came to worse...[break][break]

anyway, she flies off on tilly's back; seems team rocket's not the only one that blasts off at the speed of light just cause they lost a fight.

can't do it? more like wouldn't. hate to see her hurt? wouldn't hurt her themselves.[break][break]

she knows now, without a doubt, that whoever is before her would risk their identity to save her. the fact that they would is startling. startling enough that she swallows hard and moves over to lyonel, a hand on his head to stop him from moving.[break][break]

the fog clears and she nervously scratches at his ears. norman, the minior in her arms, floats beside her and there's a stardust like yawn that echos through the chambers of his shield.[break][break]

"...well, i could say the same for you, then. you're obviously somebody that's close to me. i know you're not ollie morales, you're not heroic enough. and, i know for sure that you're not DEREK HOFFMAN, you're not awkward enough." her eyes softened as she looked up to him, frowning.[break][break]

realization made it hurt. but likely not in a way the other expected.[break][break]

"the mist knows us both, y'know? and, FERNANDO SILPH wouldn't be caught dead in that get up, he'd show his face boldly and proudly. kim cole-essam's off living a happy-ever-after; which only leaves..."[break][break]

but she doesn't say it. she just smiles at him, it's a watery smile.[break][break]

"you... could tell me, y'know. not like this, not right now. but you could. i'd understand, i wouldn't hate you."[break][break]

it hurts because he doesn't trust her, or so she believes. it hurts because he doesn't believe she's strong enough to handle herself if his life brings danger to her. but why does she feel so betrayed? so hurt?[break][break]

she laughs and wipes her face. "really embarrassing. all the things i've never said, too. how could i possibly judge you for this? not very fair, is it?"

"sure!" she pumps a hand in the air and leads on, mary following behind her and using a belly drum to prepare for any battle that might come ahead of them.[break][break]

halle sniffs about, her nose twitching. she finally comes to a stop and before them is a massive, terrifying, odd looking pokémon that francie hasn't ever seen before.[break][break]

"what... is that??"[break][break]

her azumaril's body glows, healing a bit with that previous aqua ring. she readies some energy in her tail, preparing for an attack should she need it. her houndour does the same, chest heating up if she has to lash out.[break][break]

but the creature simply turns, that dimension oozing from its feet and tail. it looks to them all in mild confusion. it looks, and feels, lost.

pulling her phone from her pocket, she pings her number over to the rotom phone of vanilla's, giving the girl her own, and ollie morales's, contact information.
