The Sky Pillar was ancient and mysterious. With so many holes riddling the floors, it was a miracle this place still stood. It made traversal difficult, but reaching the top all the more rewarding. They found no sign of Rayquaza, though. The sky god must have been off somewhere else.

Taking a seat on top of the tower’s battlements, Andrea gleefully watched the young man’s attempt to capture a wild Noivern. “By the way, you’re from Kanto, huh? How’re your people holding up, what with the Rocket occupation and all?” The girl asked with a slight frown.

“I see.” Andrea nodded in understanding. That was a decent plan, but not without its holes. “I bet you could block their access to the Unown Dimension since you’re their avatar, but what if that’s not enough? What if the DRK Triad has already infiltrated Hoenn? They were in Area Zero, after all. And if Holo managed to disguise herself as an astrologist, who’s to say other people in important positions aren’t secretly DRK Triad members?”

Heck, dahlia goode could be a DRK Triad member for all they knew.

Having finished her sandwich, Pon climbed up the picnic table, taking a seat next to Jalapeño the Fuecoco. The tiny ogress listened to the two women’s conversation with morbid curiosity.

“What if there was another way?” The young PokéManiac continued. “What if, instead of stopping them from coming here, we took the fight directly to them? I mean, the Hexahydrate has to have their base of operations somewhere, right?” She proposed.

At Navy’s beckoning, the young cosplayer stayed in the room, yet she did not speak--not even when Noel Parker confronted Silph directly--too intimidated by the councilman’s aloof presence to protest the injustice propagated by those posters.

That was until he made the mistake of mentioning Josh Devlin by name, threatening the Gym Leader’s livelihood and demeaning him behind his back. Andrea saw red, tuning everything else out.

“Leave Josh alone! He’s suffered enough!” The dragon-costumed girl marched forward, standing beside Noel and the Warrior with an incensed expression on her face. “What gives you the right to speak of him that way? He’s not a tool for you to use and threaten when he doesn’t do exactly as you say!”

The worst part was that she knew Josh would do all those things regardless like the good soldier he was. He would continue to be the League’s obedient pawn until his body literally fell apart. She could not allow that to happen.

The futuristic Sword of Justice went for its signature move, but it was too little too late. Its blade had already been dulled by the burn. Rather than trying to dodge an undodgeable attack, the Gouging Fire countered it with a Raging Fury.

“You can win, Entaisaurus! I believe in you! RAWR!” Andrea roared in excitement as the two paradoxes crashed against each other like two worlds colliding.

There was a loud crash followed by Doug mumbling something about ninjas. That was all Andrea needed to hear. “Ninjas?! The DRK Triad is trying to assassinate Councilman Silph!”

The eccentric cosplayer barged in, only to find a bewildered secretary, a busted door being restored by the Alchemist’s powers, and beyond that, the councilman’s ninja-less office.

Andrea’s head peeked out of the doorframe, followed by Chomper’s own. After realizing that the workaholic CEO was under no immediate threat, they drew back quietly.

“Goodbye…” Replied Andrea in a bittersweet tone, already lamenting the loss of a friend. It was inevitable that her ideals would clash with his truth, whether she faced the underboss himself or one of his subordinates in the field of battle.

“C’mon, Chomper, let’s do some training.” The dragon tamer said to her Hydreigon, before taking off on her Sygna Suit’s artificial wings. She needed more than anything a distraction to take her mind off their bleak future.

“I-I see Toxic Chains… and Munkidori.” The dragon fanatic stammered a reply. She was lucid enough to know she was hallucinating, but a part of her still wished to get revenge on that darn monkey. Its death in the penitentiary had been mercifully swift.

“Pon, use Spiky Shield!” Her order came with no delay this time, an impenetrable barrier of ivy and thorns ensuring that the simian’s attack hurt itself more than it did Ogerpon. That technique was similar to the one deployed by Elisabeth Fiorelli’s Wo-Chien.

Andrea took another swig of water offered by a Shiinotic, feeling the side effects of the hallucinogen worsening. The entire forest rotted and decayed as if Ruination had come to Lavaridge. All the while, the sound of Munkidori’s piercing cackle rang in her ears.

“You’re right, I need to focus on the battle itself!” The eccentric trainer said, slapping both of her cheeks. She then squinted her eyes at Desiree. “Huh. I dunno if it’s because of the spores, but your face looks totally different than before…”

It was definitely because of the spores. People’s faces could not change out of the blue.
