Winding his way up the stairs of the lighthouse, Klaus plops himself before the radio. He fits the headphones over his ears, his attention drawn to the buzzing in his pocket, and flicks on a few switches before checking his phone.

A half-smile quirks onto his lips as he taps out:

Yeah ok that's fine. I'll bring a movie or something.
[break][break]
Blueberries.
[break][break]
Somewhat giddy with anticipation, Klaus coos softly to his Alolan Meowth when she hops up onto the desk and takes her place beside the radio. Giving her a few scratches beneath her chin, he then turns his attention back to the storm beyond the lighthouse's window.

Outside the storm rages with howling wind and monstrous waves. He hopes there aren't too many accidents resulting from the weather. Buoyed by his impending... outting... Klaus flicks on the final button and offers safe harbour to the ships approaching Lilycove.

A single drop of ruby colour litters an otherwise monotone landscape as Klaus emerges from a patch of brittle grass and spindly tree limbs; nestled at the roots of an aged tree, an apple with green eyes and a tail sit inconspicuously.

The eyes blink at Klaus. Klaus blinks back.

Staring at one another for a time, he eventually offers somewhat apologetically, "Sorry if you're comfy, but you're coming with me."

Mumbling along to the lyrics as he walks, a shiver in a patch of grass draws Klaus's attention. He stills as he watches the blade of grass continue to shudder, until finally a Petilil pops out from the cold ground; shaking off the dirt and cold, the Pokemon huffs out a breath and hops in place to warm itself.

"Hey," Klaus calls over the music pouring into his ears, one headphone lifted away, "You wanna come with?" It was one he was looking for, after all.

Despite the cold the pond Klaus stumbles across seems teeming with life; specifically, an Alomomola dances near the surface and colours the water a brilliant coral. Thanking everything he can imagine that he doesn't have to set foot in the water, Klaus soon moves on in search of other Pokemon.

Sipping at his newly-poured cup of coffee, Klaus peers at his texts and winces subtly as Beau relays his floor battle. Setting his cup down, he then snorts and weighs his concerns about Beau's cooking; the man was a walking disaster of an entirely different sort than Klaus was. In theory he might be decent at cooking with all that working out he did - but then again maybe he just ate protein powder out of the canister and called it a day.

Biting at his bottom lip for a moment, his thumbs hover over his keyboard before he taps out,

Alright pick a morning and make me cry.

Good cry not sad cry.
[break][break]
His blush deepening, Klaus quickly sips at his coffee to distract himself and steps carefully as his Meowth weaves through his legs while climbing up towards the top of the lighthouse to check the radio.

Klaus looks up at the sound of his name and spies some tiny thing at the bar chatting up a total stranger. He flushes, suddenly unsure of himself - hadn't his picture been on his profile? - before clearing his throat and pushing himself from his seat.

The man Marianne greeted already looked interested in his supposed date.

"Uh -" Klaus utters awkwardly as he comes up behind Marianne. Lifting a hand to scratch at the back of his neck, he adds, "Sorry - sorry are you Marianne? I'm Klaus."

Much to the stranger's displeasure at the interruption, Klaus visibly withers beneath the man's gaze; self conscious of his vibrantly pink-painted nails, he shoves this hands in his hoodie as his face flushes beet-red.

With Woobat secured Klaus begins to put his headphones back on, but a soft chirruping gives him pause. One one of the frosted branches of a nearby tree he spies a little Rookidee who seems to be watching him with curiosity.

A ball of fuzz crosses Klaus's sight as he trudges through the Safari Zone and a moment later he places it as a Woobat.

"Hey bud," he calls in greeting as the Pokemon hovers nearby, its face skewed up quizzically. "You a fan of Alternative?" As he speaks he pulls off his headphones, allowing the Woobat to listen for a few moments. It's not long before the Pokemon flies closer and seems willing to follow after Klaus.

With a grin, he tosses a Safari Ball and says, "You'll be helpful at the lighthouse."

Tucked neatly away in a corner away from the noise, Klaus nurses a beer in his hand as he idly scrolls through his phone. His gaze glances up occasionally at particularly raucous screams, though otherwise he sits in his own world brooding and uncomfortable.

He can't remember the last time he had a date, or found anyone to blow off steam with.

Well, no time like the present.

Exiting the app on his phone, he exhales moodily as he pauses over his contacts before selecting one of ill-used dating apps that's downloaded instead. Swiping past a sea of faces, he finally lands on someone who's supposedly in the area and pops off a greeting message with, "Wanna get a drink? I'm at Meowth's Mischief on ninth."
