"Hey, I brought coffee with me. Want some?" the sudden whisper startled her but Hailee didn't jump lest she mess up the work the stylists were doing to her. Cracking an eye open when she could she spied who she assumed to be her partner for the photoshoot today offering her a cup of coffee. [break][break]

Once she had a break to move she gently took the cup with a smile. "Oh, that's so thoughtful, thank you." She said as she took a sip and let the caffeine slowly begin to wake her. "I'm Hailee by the way." she said offering him another quick glance as her stylists wrapped up with her and began to attend to the man beside her. [break][break]

Noticing his little Sylveon in toe she offered another warm smile. Hailee had brought her own little cutie too but she was still resting in her pokeball since it was so early. Valerie was a new addition to her team. A shiny swablu that had clicked with her during her recent ranger activities. She'd wanted to spend some more time with her so their bond could grow stronger which is why she chose her to work with today.[break][break]

Hailee was also just doting on her new baby, so what's new?[break][break]

"This your first time doing something like this?" Hailee asked as she leaned against the armrest on her chair. Sure she was making conversation but she was also curious. At least in the modeling scene in Hoenn she was pretty familiar with certain people but she wasn't familiar with this guy.

Since winning the Splashfest Swimsuit Contest Hailee had been busier than ever. Of course her Ranger job kept her active but she was also getting more work with her modeling job due to the exposure. She wasn't complaining but it was a lot of work on top of being a student at Slateport University. [break][break]

Today she had an early morning call time for this photoshoot. They'd be taking shots for a centerfold in one Hoenn's hottest magazine's in addition to being the fresh faces of a new product. What the product was she wasn't sure yet but she knew her team would inform her about it later. [break][break]

Meanwhile Hailee was in her chair getting her makeup and hair styled drifting in an out of consciousness. She'd stayed up later working on a project for her fashion marketing class. She had a sudden burst of inspiration and had to work it out before she forgot or lost it. So it caused her to only get a 30 minutes of sleep before she had to show up here to get ready. She'd been told she would be modeling with a partner today but she didn't know who. Whoever they were they must've had a later call time than her since they weren't here yet. Lucky. Hailee wished she could be in her bed right now. But for now, she'd take the little winks of sleep that she could get.

"Just be careful with the injured.” the words of caution from her Captain echoed in her ear as she worked with the staff to assist the relocation of the injured. Hailee was already well aware of this fact. But the sinking dread and panic budding in her stomach made her painfully aware that she could mess up and these people she was trying to protect could pay the price for her failure. [break][break]

It was like Mt.Pyre all over again. But Hailee didn't want to be helpless like she was back then. With a deep breath she steeled herself. If her Captain had taught her anything it was that remaining calm and collected in times like this would produce better results. Raijin worked to help be a guiding light towards the safety of the bunker. Meanwhile Hailee and Pipin tried their best to help people along. [break][break]

Things were going smoothly till and EARTHQUAKE rocked the foundation and people began to panic. Hailee herself had to brace herself against a wall. "P-please don't panic everyone. Just move into the bunker as swiftly as possible." she tried to reassure them. Suddenly a piercing ROAR sounded as more and more pokémon began to appear because of the distortion. [break][break]

Hailee's eyes widened as she snapped her head back to stare at the massive steel body of an enraged AGGRON targeting the group of people trying to retreat safely inside. Flashbacks of Mt.Pyre left Hailee frozen for a moment till shrieks reached her ear. "Get the rest of them inside. I'll handle this." Hailee said to the staff she was assisting.[break][break]

Unfortunately the ROAR from the Aggron caused Pipin to retreat back into their pokeball. Instead Misha was present and assessing the situation. The parallel of Mt.Pyre and what was happening now wasn't lost on the both of them. Hailee's nails dug into her palms as she balled her hands into a fist at her side. "We gotta distract it Mischa." Mischa understood well despite the nervousness that he felt. Either way they had a job to do. With a deep breath Misha lunged forward a FORCE PALM aimed to stop the Aggron's march forward and to grab it's attention.

"Sure. Mochi it is.” Hailee nodded pleased that Tam liked the little nickname she gave his pokémon. She didn't consider herself a savant or anything when it came to naming pokémon but she did think the names she named her own were pretty good. However nothing was meant to last here in Hoenn. [break][break]

The pokémon around them notice it first. Then the hair on Hailee's neck and arms sticks up and brings back a familiar disturbing sensation. Raijin quickly flies back back to her with panic in his eyes. "What is it?" Hailee asked though she felt like she knew the answer. She'd felt this feeling before. [break][break]

"Noah. Hailee.” Tam called but things were already in motion. The familiar darkening of the skies, the cracking of energy in the air, the visible dome of distortion that forms. It's another one of those space-time rifts or distortions that have been appearing around Hoenn spontaneously. Hailee had been in one before with Lilligant which ended up transforming into a Hisuian Lilligant when interacting with the distortion. [break][break]

"Wild pokémon are about to appear. Protect everyone.” Tam's orders were sharp and to the point. "R-right." Hailee said as she quickly summoned another pokeball from her belt. Tossing it out her Cottonee, Pipin appeared and she pointed towards the people. "We're gonna try and round them up and get them inside safely."[break][break]

After all this relief station was built for people that needed to be relocated due to the primal nodes or who just had their houses and things destroyed due to Necrozma's recent attacks. Either way, they weren't in any position do deal with crazed wild pokémon that show up in these distortions. "Raijin, Pipin, help me out and keep everyone safe." she said as she began to run towards people and the staff trying to evacuate people into the building. "Alright everyone let's move it, but don't push!"

Hailee now currently sat in her seat with her mountain pile of food now comfortably resting in her stomach. The only thing that wasn't comfortable now was her. She looked around the room as this little potluck delved into straight chaos. Wide crimson colored eyes glanced around the room as her fellow rangers lunged at each other's throats. [break][break]

"Well that escalated quickly." Hailee muttered under her breath as she continued to mind her own business and take long sips from her drink. Hailee wasn't quite sure what was supposed to be going on but she was no longer feeling comfortable in such a heated and emotionally intense situation. Honestly, she'd be the first one to say she really was just here for the free food. Save the drama for your mama, some wise t-shirt maker once said. [break][break]

Now more than ever Hailee was glad to know she had such a strong, rationally thinking, and mild mannered Captain. He'd addressed the Slateport Ranger's orders and that was all Hailee needed to know. @arashi also seemed uncomfortable considering how he just left in a huff. Hailee wished she could go with him. Maybe on their way out they could grab some ice cream or something. Anything to get her out of this awkward situation. Hailee wasn't good with confrontation like this.[break][break]

Noah beside her leaned close to her ear and whispered causing her to jump and the hairs on the back of her neck to stand up. "Wha--" she began to protest. But Noah continued with what he had to say, "Could you pass a message to Tam Fawley and ask if we could also leave? We have our orders already."[break][break]

Hailee flashed him a look of approval. Not a bad idea. Hailee was seated in between Noah, on her right and Orion Lykos on her left. Leaning over Orion, Hailee tugged on Tam's sleeve and cupped a hand over her mouth to whisper to him. "Hey dad, the adults are fighting. Do you think we could leave since we already have our orders?" Hailee asked him in the only way she knew how, with a little joke.

Was Hailee skipping classes at school to come hang out with a flock of Altaria? Absolutely. Okay, maybe that wasn't the real reason. It was presentation week in her math class and she just couldn't handle that right now so she called out sick. It'd be fine, she'd be back for the next session. Meanwhile she and Raijin could play with the Altaria.[break][break]

It was a shame, it seemed everyone was getting affected by this damn dome. Hailee felt bad for them, the Altaria, they couldn't even migrate they way they wanted to. They were stuck in a home they didn't want to be in. Trapped just like the rest of them. Waiting for their doom when the inevitable meteor strikes. [break][break]

Hailee could definitely understand how they felt. Which was all the more reason for her to give them a little distraction. "Let's see if some of you guys wanna come find a new home." She said as she pet some of their heads. "All of you can't stay here." she said with a giggle as she grabbed a few pokeball from her belt. [break][break]

Glancing over she thought she spied a familiar face. Was that....her captain? Huh, fancy seeing him out here. Though she figured it would make sense. A ranger's duty and all that. [break][break]

Orion hold up a bowl of mac&cheese in answer to Hailee's first question before swallowing the bite he took and adding, "You're barely even late. Come sit." She smiles and nods as she glances over to Tam who seemed to be captivated by the pizza. Understandably so, as an avid pizza lover herself she could certainly understand the appeal. [break][break]

Hell, she was sure she'd grab herself a slice or two in a moment. Her stomach growled as if to encourage her to finally move from her spot to get started on scoring some good grub. Hailee held up a finger as if to say 'One moment,' before slipping over to the table with the spread to begin her assault on the delicacies presented. [break][break]

As a foodie, Hailee was in heaven. She'd try a little bit of everything but she wanted to make sure she had plenty of the stuff she likes. While also staying away from the veggies. She didn't want anything to do with that. This is actually what Hailee spent her time doing. Pouring over her choices she quickly began to fill up her plate with the goods. [break][break]

A couple of slices of pizza, some pasta, a little casserole, of course the fries, and even some of the pulled pork empanadas. When her plate was filled and she couldn't pile anymore on she decided to grab a tasty drink and take her seat. Dessert, of course, being saved for last. Hailee took her seat beside Noah and decided to chow down, listening as people interacted with the other slateport crew while she munched and crunched. [break][break]

The food was amazing, and Hailee was so glad that she showed up. Her day was made by this potluck. Her earlier anxiety and stress melting away into a thing of the past. "Captain," a unfamiliar guy says to Tam as he approaches their table. "The name's Jack," Hailee nods for a seconds as she takes a swig of her drink before the words register in her head and she chokes. [break][break]

Did jack wainwright say Captain? To Tam??! "CAPTAIN?!" Hailee exclaimed after catching her breath. This entire time Hailee had thought Tam was just a cadet like the rest of them. A little bossy but just a cadet. "Oh," Hailee said as she looked down. Now that she thought about it, it made sense. [break][break]

"Jack works at Verdanturf. We joined an illegal drift race together once.” Tam went on to explain but Hailee was still stuck on the captain thing to even really digest that pandora's box of a statement. "Whaaaaaaaaaaaaa? Can you explain more?" Noah said with his mouth still full of food. Hailee flashed him a look and slapped a napkin over his mouth. "Swallow first dummy." Hailee said with a chuckle before shaking her head. [break][break]

She was going to ask about the drag racing bit but it seemed like the meeting was finally getting started as ollie morales got up from his seat to stand at the head of the table. "first off - thanks for coming! the spread looks amazing." he chuckles. "now, everyone give a big round of applause —" Ollie then gestures to Guillermo Marceliño and annalise henderson, "to our two new ranger captains! guillermo marceliño promoted to captain of fortree, and annalise henderson to captain of mauville!"[break][break]

Hailee clapped her hands together as the rest of the room also erupted into applause for the newly appointed captains. Ollie then walks around to the center of the table and flips open a cake box that was revealed to have congratulatory inscribing's for the newly appointed captains on it. "i made it all by myself —" he says. "well, and a little help." [break][break]

Hailee couldn't imagine what it would be like with all that pressure and responsibility. She barely could finish her school assignments on top of the paperwork that was required for her to push with her ranger job. But she wished the two of them the best in their endeavors. With the state of things in Hoenn they would need all the luck and encouragement they could get. This shit wasn't easy.

Noah was responding the way she hoped he would which also confirmed she was doing the right thing. In actuality while being in this sort of situation wasn't her first time, it was certainly her first time being in this sort of situation with a man. So while Hailee was confident in her abilities and imagination up to a certain point, she was still a little nervous deep down. [break][break]

"I..." Noah paused before continuing, "I... Can't stop thinking about you... I want you." Hailee smiled and nodded. She knew they were on the same page here but there was nothing wrong with a little confirmation on this fact. "As long as you know what you want." She said just a low as he. It was just them here in his apartment but her voice was still a hushed whisper.[break][break]

Noah's hands began to explore her body which caught Hailee off guard, but it was a pleasant surprise. As his hands explored her curves they found purchase on her waist before he lifted her up and pressed her closer to him. On instinct to further secure herself Hailee wrapped her legs around his waist while hooked an arm around his neck.[break][break]

However in the process Noah seemed to lose his balance as the fell towards the couch together. Hailee gasped and clung to Noah tighter before falling on top of him on the couch. "Oh!" Noah exclaimed. "Love ya!" He said as he flashed a big smile up at her. Hailee blinked for a moment before bursting out in laughter.[break][break]

This was such a Noah thing to do, his clumsiness getting the better of him. But it still made her heart swell with affection for him. She wouldn't have him any other way. She quickly leaned down and hugged him. "Love you too." she said and she meant that. Still chuckling she gently tapped his nose as she smiled down at him. "You know if you wanted me on top of you, you could've just said that too." she said teasing him gently.

Hailee quickly made her way back and forth through the relief camp assisting where she was needed. It was mostly carrying boxes of medical supplies to the volunteer nurses that were on deck. Even Raijin was flying around helping where he could. Even if it meant letting little kids ruffle his fur to help them feel better. [break][break]

Hailee didn't have any healing pokémon so she couldn't actually assist in that way with medical treatment. But when one of the nurses would ask her to help them bandage someone or a pokémon here and there she'd make sure she was available to assist. She was sure this was hard for all of them. Specifically the volunteer staff. [break][break]

They were short on hands and they had to work long shifts because there seemed to be a never-ending amount of chaos to sort through. That's why the rangers were here. To offer aid in any way they could. "Phew," Hailee breathed as she finally had a moment to stand still. Looking around she saw Noah and Tam. [break][break]

They all had their hands filled trying to help out as well. So after a little break Hailee walked towards them to see if there was anything she could help out with. "There’s some meds in there for those who need it. Chansey, can you make rounds with LIFE DEW?” Tam asked his Chansey who did her best to salute him but her arms were too short. She waddled off and Hailee found herself pursing her lips. [break][break]

"You know..." she said as she tapped a manicured nail against her chin. "She reminds me of Mochi." Hailee said as she turned to Tam. "Because she's so round and bouncy." She elaborated with a smile. "Oh!" she said as she clasped her hands together. "That's a cute name, Mochi. You should name her that. It's really cute. I'm sure she'll love it." Hailee said with a confidant nod. "You're welcome." [break][break]

Her stomach lightly grumbled and she pat it. "Dang, I'd love some Mochi right about now actually." she said as her mind drifted to her third love, food. "You guys need any help with anything over here?" She asked as she got her mind right back on track. If she started thinking about food now then she'd never get back to work.

Everything ended up moving in slow motion as Hailee watched the look on their faces. She didn't like that. Why did Tam look so disappointed? Okay, even more disappointed than usual? Why did Orion look so guilty? Why couldn't he look her in the eye and reassure her everything was going to be okay?[break][break]

She watched as he slowly approached the incident report board, Hailee's pride and joy for the past nine days. "Sorry, Hailee." was all that came from Orion's mouth as the number nine was replaced with a fat and ugly zero. Hailee felt her stomach drop and her eye twitch before bursting out into laughter. [break][break]

"Oh I get it." she said as she wiped a tear from her eye. "This is a joke. Okay, haha, it's funny. Now put my nine back." Hailee said as she stared at the two of them. But when neither one of them flinched to move Hailee's laughter died down as she stared back in utter disbelief. "This is a joke right?" It clearly was not. [break][break]

Hailee felt a deep sense of grief wash over her as she stumbled clutching her head. All her hard work. She'd showed up to work on time for the last nine days. Not a minute late. She'd completed the mountain of paperwork Tam had given her with a smile. A SMILE! Hell, she was even cleaning! Something she never did, but here she was, doing so gladly. All for her precious pizza party. [break][break]

Rage.[break][break]

That's what she felt right now. Her grip tightened around the broom as her head hung low. "All you had to do." she said through clenched teeth. "Was behave yourself. For ten. Fucking. Days." she growled. If Orion wanted to cause an incident so bad, Hailee would show him what causing an incident looked like.[break][break]

In a flash Hailee snapped her head up before inhaling sharply and flinging the broom across the room in a perfect arch to nail Orion. While the broom was flying through the air Hailee took off running towards Orion. She was out for blood and she'd make him pay. She didn't give a damn if her boss was watching. Her precious pizza party was ruined! And all because of his lack of self-restraint.

Unlike the rest of her colleagues Hailee was in a rather good mood, evident by her little humming as fluttered around the common room making sure everything was nice and clean. For the last few days Hailee had been on her best behavior. Why? Because her boss had promised them all a pizza party as long as there were no incidents to report. They'd been doing really well for 9 days so far. [break][break]

She could almost taste the yummy cheesy goodness of her sweet sweet pizza. She was so stoked she'd been dreaming about it for the past two days. Now sure, she could get her own pizza, but there was nothing like free food. Ever. Plus Tam usually went to a really good place to pick up his pies. [break][break]

While Hailee was busy trying to make her bosses life painless, she didn't even notice Orion stumble into the place looking like he'd just been run over by truck. Nope, poor Hailee was living in her own bubble while she hummed and swept up the dirt and dust in a corner. She did, however notice her boss exiting his office. [break][break]

Hailee beamed at him as she leaned on her broom. "So I'm thinking, for tomorrow's party we should get cookie cake too." she said with a snicker. "Now I know, I know. You promised only pizza, but I would argue, what good pizza party doesn't have cookie cake?" She would continue with a confident huff. She believed that was a pretty strong argument. [break][break]

It wasn't till she saw Orion trailing behind Tam looking all disheveled that she paused as she looked at the both of them. "The hell happened to you?" She asked as she straightened up. She had a bad feeling all of a sudden. "W-what are you guys doin?" she asked as she felt the corners of her mouth twitch.
