Altaria, in particular, find their usual freedoms impeded. Some find their usual nesting areas more crowded than usual. It’s almost like cloud gazing. He could just sit here under this tree and watch the Altaria fly around for hours, mesmerised by the slow flapping of their cotton-like wings. Unfortunately, said Altaria are not exactly flying at the best place they could be.

Was Hailee skipping classes at school to come hang out with a flock of Altaria? Absolutely. Okay, maybe that wasn't the real reason. It was presentation week in her math class and she just couldn't handle that right now so she called out sick. It'd be fine, she'd be back for the next session. Meanwhile she and Raijin could play with the Altaria.[break][break]

It was a shame, it seemed everyone was getting affected by this damn dome. Hailee felt bad for them, the Altaria, they couldn't even migrate they way they wanted to. They were stuck in a home they didn't want to be in. Trapped just like the rest of them. Waiting for their doom when the inevitable meteor strikes. [break][break]

Hailee could definitely understand how they felt. Which was all the more reason for her to give them a little distraction. "Let's see if some of you guys wanna come find a new home." She said as she pet some of their heads. "All of you can't stay here." she said with a giggle as she grabbed a few pokeball from her belt. [break][break]

Glancing over she thought she spied a familiar face. Was that....her captain? Huh, fancy seeing him out here. Though she figured it would make sense. A ranger's duty and all that. [break][break]

Ambrose had been out here testing out new equipment, a normal trip for his job, nothing out of the ordinary other than the apocalypse making dome. Making sure to take measures and calculations whenever he did meet with a pokemon in the wild, no need to capture them when he had his tablet in hand, unless of course he saw something out of the ordinary, no hustle and no extra work.[break][break]

Alas, Hoenn was a region where things out of the ordinary seem to happen enough times that it shouldn't surprise anyone or even be seen as
out of ordinary anymore. This time it was a giant piece of clouds flying towards him. "The hell!?" Ambrose would question reality for a few seconds before realizing those were not clouds but a swarm of Altaria and the clouds were simply their FEATHERS.[break][break]

This did present itself as a chance to study swarms. Throwing a pokeball towards the great big adorable ball of clouds, hoping that he would be able to capture one of the pokemon for study and safe keeping, after all he did respect pokemon and wouldn't do anything bad to them...At all.[break][break]

As Nikita took her usual walk up and down Route 111, several large shadows passed overhead, one after the other. Looking up, she watched several Altaria fly by overhead, their WINGS LIKE CLOUDS billowing softly in the breeze. Yet the Pokémon themselves seemed stressed, moving in frantic patterns across the route. Were they sick? Afraid?[break][break]

“Huh,” he exhales, head tilting up toward the sky in observation, “would ya look at that.” The dense knot of white PLUMAGE is almost indiscernible from the rest of the sky. If not for the heads and feet occasionally popping free. “They must be all sorts of jumbled up.” Studying traveling patterns of local avian groups is a bit of a habit of his, all info he sends back to his father in Alola when he’s able.[break][break]

Today wasn’t intended to be for that per se, given the way Lam is propped up against a tree, sketchbook out with nothing concrete drawn. In fact, by the lazy droop of his eyes and the way his pencil dangles, it can be inferred he’s been napping the whole while, his own altaria nestled by his side. It was no different for his own.[break][break]

And so, he watched as his own flock soared through the skies above in attempt to aid the cloudlike beasts that found themselves at an impasse with others of their specimen. A hum escaped his lips after bearing witness to more than a few over such a short span of time, and he couldn't help but note a sinking feeling that had been rare, yet ever recurring within recent times.[break][break]

The RANGERS have been enough of a thorn in Rocket's Slateport operations (thanks, Tam Fawley) that Gavin feels no shame whatsoever in encroaching upon an attempt to bring the rogue migration to heel. In the chaos of FEATHERS and others running about, no one seems to pay him any mind. That was good.

A soft click of his tongue rouses the Glaceon at his side, and the FREEZY FROST it fires into the crowd is sure to be impactful. Hopefully all the time slaving over the DUNK TANK in Splashfest will have helped Gavin's aim as he whips a pokeball into their midst...

Normally, it'd be like watching a flock of cute, fluffy clouds fly across the sky to better climes as the seasons changed. But with the barrier around Hoenn, this normally calm event was a lot more stressful. Altaria squabbled for nesting space in this cut-off region while longing for the chance to spread their cottony wings and soar to new skies. It was sad to think about, but Julia didn't like dwelling on sad things. She preferred to act.

[break][break]She couldn't break the barrier, as much as she wanted to, so the next best thing was to catch one and give it a loving, comfortable home. She wished she could catch all of them. Not just them: every Pokémon who needed help, especially in these turbulent times. But she'd have to stick with doing what she could wherever she could. Thinking of the what-ifs would just make things worse.

[break][break]A lone Altaria stood beneath a copse of trees, looking up sadly. It seemed that there wasn't enough room for it with all the Pokémon already claiming their territory. Julia slowly approached, not wanting to startle it. "Hey, there," she said softly. "It's okay, I'm a friend. I'm here to help."

[break][break]The Altaria tilted its head and took a tentative step forward, seemingly sensing Julia's good will.

[break][break]"That's it," Julia said with a smile. "There's not a lot of room around here, is there? Why don't you come with me? I'll make sure you're loved and fed and can fly around all you want." To prove her offer was genuine, she took a berry from her bag and held it out for the Altaria.

Despite being an ex gym leader for a few years already, the burnt scarred man got the notification that there was a problem that needed to be dealt with. And much like back in his gym leader days, Maverick was swift to respond to the call.

Warm crimson colored orbs flickered over the many swablu and altaria the flooded the route, taking note of the once that look different from the rest. According to the report, he needed to either capture them or help them move out of the area. Although Altaria was indeed a dragon, the man always felt that it was more of a girly dragon. Either way, Maverick didn’t pass up the opportunity to capture one of those shiny ones.

Turning to his beloved hell hound, the man mumbled something under his breath and nodded to the swarm. Azula let a growl rubble in her chest, ruby eyes fell upon the many cloud like birds that over ran the area. The canine took in a deep breath, summon the light fluffy energy she was weak too.

And once the energy was build, Azula threw her head back in a loud howl. Suddenly, fierce wings erupted around her filled with the sensation of love and hate. The dragons screeched in pain, some of them scurrying away while others tried to fight back. It didn’t work though, Maverick spotting an opening to launch a ball at one of those shiny ones before it vanished. Will his aim be true?

even better, there's a goddamn dome around the entire accursed island. in any other situation, celeste would already be out of dodge, but fate has a funny way of irrevocably making her life worse. so she's stuck on sinking ship in an organization she couldn't give two fucks about in the pursuit of some silly dream that won't even matter if that goddamn meteorite really does destroy everything. life has never seemed so pointless as it does right now.

nihilism be damned, though. celeste's gonna catch some fuckin' birds.

her honchkrow, mammon, stands astride her beneath a flock of altaria so big it blocks out the sun. he's been decorated with luminous streamers of all varieties and colors to the point that he looks more like a peacock than the goth king he really is. both celeste and mammon regret that it has come to this, but celeste knows best that birds are fondest of shiny things above all else—and if not those, a mate who's willing to impress.

"alright dad—" mammon's feathers ruffle and celeste pointedly smooths them down with her hand. "—go land one of those fuckers."

and mammon flies off, ready to flaunt his stuff.

Xiura had read the rundown on these Pokemon, and how they had overcrowded the local nesting areas due to their interrupted migratory patterns. When she arrived at the site, courtesy of her Gardevoir's Teleport ability, she was still shocked to see the sheer numbers of cloud-winged birds crammed into nests, wings and feathers all akimbo.

"Surely that's uncomfortable, and I hope the Swablu aren't crushed under all the other birds," Xiura said worriedly. She released Incineroar from his Pokeball to aid her with the Altaria rescue efforts.

"Incineroar, let's help these Altaria!" Xiura pointed at one of the nests before them.

Xiura realized her mistake when Incineroar immediately started charging up a Flamethower attack. She hurried to shout, "Wait, no! I wasn't specific enough, stop that!" With a growl of irritated confusion, the feline Pokemon released the conflagration into the sky where it dissipated into harmless smoke.

"Just... Help them out of the nests, please. Peacefully."

Incineroar squinted at her.

"You know, like this." With exaggerated movements, Xiura walked up to the nearest nest and started trying to shoo one of the Altaria out of the twiggy residence, yelping when it tried to peck her.
