Weathered and weary would be ways to aptly describe Johanna by now. Constantly being sent from one mission to the other was definitely taking its toll upon the young Gym Leader, but that didn’t stop her from continuing. She had to. If not her, then she knew it would be someone else.

For this mission Johanna was working with one Yuina Higashi. Not a name she knew, but she was certain that she would know it well soon enough.

But Yuina wasn't her only companion. Two Pokemon followed her, offering protection in their presence. One was a Claydol, the other a Medicham. Both battle ready and watchful.



MISSION: SMOG 2/2

With powerful thrusts of its shoulder cannons the Blastoise would try to escape. But alas it found itself unable to do so.

A quick flash and a yellow glow in the water alerted Johanna. She needed to get herself and Blastoise out of the water quickly. Dhelmise was somewhat safe for now because it hovered.

By the time she had released her third Pokemon, A Drifblim, it was already too late. Blastoise had tried to move, but it's aquatic speed fell short compared to the Sharpedo. The electric SLASH cut deep with the help of the electric current, so deep in fact that the Blastoise was knocked out.

Even Johanna felt the zapping pain jolt through her for a moment before the Drifblim managed to heave her into its Ballon arms and rise into the air. Though pain was surging through her from the electricity, her focus was solely on getting Anat the Blastoise out of that water. As she retrieved the Blastoise into the safety of its Pokéball another Pokéball on her trainer belt short-circuited, releasing its inhabitant into the air

Unfortunately the Tsareena could not fly, and so found itself plunging into the ionized water, joining the fray alongside the Dhelmise, even if it was woefully unprepared for battle.



MISSION: SEA 2/3

Secrets and information gathering wasn’t her forte. And so she felt at ease when someone else had been assigned that job. And when that someone else had proved to be a familiar face then the situation became better by miles.

Still, for all the ease she felt about the mission objectives, she felt tension from the location. These new lands had become a veritable war zone, a fact she had already experienced. And so she was burdened with knowing if she failed, this could very well spell the end for the both of them.

“Oh, did it mention what sort of Pokemon?” She asked curiously. While the idea of tomb robbing wasn’t exactly enjoyable she figured she might as well ask. Even if Nikita instead wanted to head back.

“Oh, give me a moment.” She muttered, retrieving the Claydol which had been helping keep an eye on their fixed perimeter for two Pokemon more befitting moving cargo. One was a Gengar, its wide smile greeted both of them eagerly, the other a Meowstic which seemed rather indifferent to it all.

“Retnauh I want you to scout ahead and let me know if you see anything or anyone.” The Gengar quickly jumped into action, melting into nearby shadows as it began to move.

“And I want you to stick close and be ready in case anything gets past Retnauh.”

The Meowstic nodded.

Johanna returned her attention to Nikita as she simply stated. “I am ready now, let's move.”



MISSION: Secret 1/2

To gaze upon the slaughter from up high was horrible. So much death, so much destruction. At first she had felt inclined to empty her stomach, but some manner of mental strength made manifest within her allowed her to halt the potential projectile vomiting.

“This.. This is bad.”

The Dragapult made its low growls in agreement.

But luck was on their side, for as her eyes scanned the perimeter they found movements of battle. A pair of Pokemon fighting a horrible beast while a person was trying to save another. With a trained motion did she summon a Paradox Pokemon of her own. She hurriedly pointed at the Great Tusk and gave the command. “Help them with that!”

The Flutter Mane made eager sounds as it flew off, firing of a MOONBEAM at the Great Tusk at the same time.

And then turned her attention to the Dragapult. “Land over there.” She pointed towards the moving man. Dragapult nodded and did so hurriedly descending until Johanna could jump off near Thomas.



MISSION: SMOG 1/2

Both Pokemon fought valiantly. With wing beats, jaw locks, and diving drill-work the Roaring Moon put up quite the struggle. But for all of its efforts it seemed Palossand emerged the victor.

A sigh of relief escaped the Palossand as the Roaring Moon was retrieved by its trainer. Only for a Shiftry to take its place.

Palossand knew it could not afford the time to pause right now. An unfavorable typing was not enough for a tactical retreat. The sand started moving once more. Another EARTH POWER would aim to consume the Shiftry.

Meanwhile from the cover Johanna had secured, she would engage the communication device in her ear and relaying through the network a hushed. “Confirmed member of Team Rocket at my location.”



MISSION: SHORE 2/3

Howard might’ve pleaded for a ceasefire. Johanna might have listened. But his words were not given a moment to settle as their respective Pokemon flew into combat.

Earthquakes broke the grainy waves. Seeing how ineffective its attack was, Pallosand changed tactics, and in doing so allowed Johanna a moment to seek cover from the battle.

In front of the Palossands face purple hues of energy gathered into a sphere. The SHADOW BALL was quickly formed and fired at the Golurk with deadly intent or at the very least something that seemed very close to it.

If ever there was a fear she had not considered before, then it was being attacked by a Sharpedo in open waters.

But as Johanna and the Blastoise moved in to help sailors lost at sea the blue Shellfish Pokemon would look into the depths to see if some might’ve gone below the surface, only to spot the oncoming attacker.

Time was short, Blastoise had to make choices. It came to a sudden halt, Johanna just barely managed to cling onto the smooth wet shell. “Anat Wha…” Before JOhanna could even finish the sentence the Blastoise pulled itself into its shell saving its hind leg from being crunched for the moment. Unfortunately it left the rest of the shell wide open.

Too busy protecting Johanna, the Blastoise could do naught, as it knew any sudden movements would throw the Gym Leader into the dangerous waters.

But Johanna wasn’t blind to this fact, so she summoned another fighter for the moment. A Dhelmise manifested into the air. It’s long green seaweeds ready and eager to fight. So much so that the trainer did not need to even speak the command before the seaweed POWER WHIP shot into the waters attempting to hit whatever was chomping on the Blastoise.



MISSION: SEA 2/3

The Ship rocks violently back and forth as its balance is offset. Johanna throws herself at the nearest steady item trying to keep her balance in the process.

Ominously Cillian’s words gave forewarning of what was to come. A wave of Sludge washed over the ship, washing away all that wasn’t secure.

Even Johanna wasn’t safe as the sickly waters grabbed her and tried to pull her off the ship. She found her hand slipping, only saved by the grace of the Marshadow she had been in the process of releasing from its Pokéball moments earlier. It’s shadowy hands holding tightly onto a nearby edge.

The Impidimp wasn’t quite as lucky. It’s tiny frame was no match for the wave. Its tiny arms tried to swim against the wave, but with cries of fear and despair was it dragged over the edge hitting just about every edge it could, before plunging into the deep murky waters below, never to be heard from again?

As the wave diminished she came to realize the awful truth. Though she wanted to jump over the edge of the ship to save Impidimp, she knew she couldn't. It would only put herself in danger and the chance of saving it was slim to none. She had to let it go, and focus. Perhaps that was the one useful thing the Rocket Grunt training had taught her?

Either way with anger in her eyes she gave the Marshadow a command. "Knock that Dhelmise out."

The Marshadow jumped into action, charging in a zig-zag pattern toward the Dhelmise readying itself to deliver a FIRE PUNCH to the anchor.

Meanwhile Johanna would take a short moment to look around, see if she was truly the only one left on the ship or if there was other trainers she might rally against Cillian.

Aggressive Paradox Pokemon was a problem that could not be ignored. No matter how threatening Team Rocket was on the battlefield a significant herd of Great Tusks rampaging about could prove equally as devastating.

For this reason Johanna had responded to the distress signal of another League Party. Dense interdream mist had created a veritable spawning ground for these paradoxes.

From her position in the air, atop her Dragapult she could all but look down upon the havoc the Pokemon were already causing. Eyes scanning for sight of survivors or anyone still fighting that she could aid.

The blaring alarm system began milliseconds after the Anchor Shots curled around the ship. People ran to their positions, those of the people there that had such things.

Johanna too was about to be on the move when an ominous figure drew himself aboard in front of her. She already had an inclination of who this could be, but when the rebreather was removed it was confirmed.

With teeth gritting she glared daggers at Cilian. “I believe we both know the answer to that.” She was done running. Zev Harcourt might’ve threatened her into submission when she first left. But no more. She would fight Declan Walsh himself if she had to.

Before she could grab a Pokeball and send out one of her actual fighters, the Impidimp by her side jumped into action attempting to subdue Cillian with a SUCKER PUNCH.

The SHADOW BALL flew and it seemed their opponent made no attempt at dodging it, choosing instead to power through it.

Johanna had to give props where it was due, unfortunately she could not voice it as she jumped into cover.

Palossand was not quite as lucky. As it tried to move the sand out of the way some of it was captured in the powerful jaws of its opponent, locked away from rejoining the main body. It hurt, even for the ghost. But the pain was quickly pushed away in favor of a counter attack.



With a faint earthy hue Palosand called out to the beach summoning with its EARTH POWER as much of it as it could, aiming to incapacitate if not crush the opponent a prison of sand.

His prayers weren’t heard.

From her position she took stock of her surroundings and noted the man approaching. Had he not been dressed the part she might have assumed him a member of the League. But no, clad in black and wearing a helmet surely meant he was a part of Team Rocket.

While Johanna was hesitant to take action the Palossand by her side had no such reservations. Its sand flew forth as quickly as it could, dragging along as much of the beach as it possibly could as it summoned a wave of EARTH POWER aimed at dealing with Howard.
