A bubble of invisibility had been offered by Makoto. Cathrine was rather surprised at this, she had not expected something this useful from the woman, and yet that was what she had been given. She stayed within the sphere, making sure to not inch too close to the dangerous edge.

But the mechanical guards weren't the only danger here. The song had reached her ears first. Peaked her curiosity in ways it shouldn’t.

But she was not the only victim. It seemed they all was beginning to feel its effects, some in subtle ways like her own and Makoto, and then others like Seraphim who had lost full control of their body.

A gulp escaped her. The songs tugging in her fingers became more obvious. She was not inclined to dance… But write. Oh how her fingers missed the sensation of paper and pen. But wait she had those very things in her pocket!

She grabbed her pen and her small notebook. The pen began to dance almost maniacally in its speed and precision as she wrote the tale of the Dancing Ninja, vividly describing the scenery as her gaze took in the view.

She had been lost to the song, all she could do was write what was happening in front of her. Deep down she loathed this powerlessness, for she was well aware that she ought to focus on the task at hand, and yet her fingers would not stop, her hand would not relent.

She was cursed to keep on writing.

Cathrine made no attempts at hiding the tension this stranger caused her. But it didn’t seem to matter. He kept smiling. Though a confident smile would not win her over. She had seen plenty of those.

But his response to the accusation of being a sex-work-recruiter did put a smile on her face, and grant her a small snicker.

Perhaps he is more innocent than he leads on? Cathrine pondered.

Though the words that followed did baffle her slightly. She had never heard such wording before. “Your method of finding an EA is rather unconventional…” Cathrine commented. As she watched Aki’s Furret approve of the guy.

Aki’s dress while certainly pleasing to Cathrine’s gaze. Though not as provocative, it worked wonders well enough.

“The reviews of it have been pretty good. But, I haven’t tried it yet.” Cathrine smirked as she led Aki to the entrance.

“Heard it’s a bit of a rough drink though, so perhaps we ought to start out with something gentler?” She didn’t quite know how much Aki was used to drinking.

Either way, they came through the entrance with little difficulty.

“And I am Cathrine.” She interjected when Makoto and Nanette introduced themselves.

Cathrine wasn’t exactly impressed by the lineup that finally stood before her. But there was little she could do about it. Luckily the robot-ninja-wannabe seemed all too inclined to want to take the lead. And so she almost eagerly replied with. “I have no objections.”

And so the conversation seemed to lead on. First introductory notes on the dangers of the place, quickly followed with Seraphim offering them some communications devices. All of which would simply be granted affirmative nods of agreement as she readied the comm’s piece in her ear.

She was quick to sneak into a position right behind Seraphim, almost becoming one with his shadow as she snuck about. Her eyes and ears worked as much as she could to take in the sights, watch for patterns of walking guardians, and listen to the song of this place, so hauntingly beautiful in its serenade. It was almost as if it was telling her a tale of sorrow, one that ought to be written down and retold.

Wild dimensional rifts… It sounded almost like an idea stolen from one of her novels. She would have to sue whoever came up with it.

Nevertheless as a member of Rocket, she would have to partake in the investigation, and not only because information gathering was the one thing she provided Team Rocket. But also because of a personal vested interest in acquiring new inspiration for her next book.

As she walked toward their meeting point, clad in a uniform befitting the purpose. She noticed that she seemed to be the second one to appear. The first being someone in a peculiar full-body armor.

She sent him a curious gaze and a quick greeting wave alongside two words. “Hello there.”

Cathrine had not thought Aki so touch starved that she would so readily throw herself in her arms. But that was exactly what happened, and Cathrine enjoyed every second of it.

A natural question was given, only for any answer to be cut short when Aki came to the realization of foul play.

A quiet but gentle laugh escaped Cathrine as Aki immediately turned on her mother, only for the latter to remind her daughter that she had every right to invite company. Cathrine kept quiet letting the scene play out between the two and then the suddenly appearing dad.

“No need for apologies. It is a pleasure to meet both of you.” She gave both parents a polite bow, as one would or should.

Cathrine noticed how Aki shared so few similarities with her parents. But decided not to ask about it.

She heard Aki’s groan but decided to change the topic “So, what’s this about yarn?”

Walpurgisnacht.

Cathrine had heard about the place and its signature drink the Gravedigger, in passing. But she had never thought of going there. It didn’t seem the type of place where she should be, at least not alone.

But she was alone no longer. And the year was reaching its end. They should celebrate as appropriate. And look forward to a new Year together with the woman she loved.

And so she had pushed Aki, perhaps more than she ought to, to join her for a night of lewd depravity at Walpurgisnacht.

She had even chosen to dress provocatively for once, with a dress that left little to the imagination. She hoped it would be pleasing to Aki’s eyes. And honestly, she had even suggested that Aki dress equally provocatively for the occasion. Though of course, the choice was Aki’s to make.

“You totally did.” Cathrine joked back. But like the Furret she noticed someone who wasn’t Aki, entering her personal safe space, and she did not like that.

Cathrine tensed just as Aki did. A paper was handed to the pair and she read along, confusion becoming more evident in her eyes. Is this some kind of practical joke? She took a moment to look around, nobody seemed to be in on it save for the man with a grin on his face.

Aki’s words brought her back from the scanning of their surroundings.

“It almost sounds like it.” Cathrine said. “And you do have the body for it.” She teased Aki for a moment, but then turned her attention to the man. "But I surely hope it isn't."

Her gaze turned sharp like the blade arms of an aggressive Scyther “Care to elaborate?” She did not wish for a random bout of harassment to ruin this fine date.

Color Cathrine surprised when Aki’s mom of all people invited her over. As requested Cathrine kept it tight-lipped that she was coming.

It had been unexpectedly hard to not simply text Aki and ask if she should bring something with her for her first visit. But she had refrained, simply settling on a neatly packaged box of expensive chocolates as a gift for Aki’s mother, as thanks for having her.

With the box in hand, she now stood in front of the door after having knocked. Her black jacket hides her adorable but rather cringe looking Delibird-winter-sweater, black pants and fitting shoes finishing the casual and innocent looking outfit.

A bright smile beamed from her lips as Aki opened the door, responding as she would if she didn’t know who stood there. “Surprise!” was all Cathrine said. She gave Aki a moment to understand the situation before she would move to hug her.

It seemed she had caught his attention with her knowledge. She felt his gaze upon her, and continued offering him her attention.

“I am afraid not. Though one day I would like to.” She spoke, a quick glimpse back at the painted Legendary Pokémon. “Perhaps even befriend one if possible.” She commented, returning her gaze to Cade.

“What about?” She offered him his own question in return.

The kiss came to a halt. Perhaps Aki finally found herself overwhelmed. Cathrine wouldn’t put it past her nor would she blame her for it.

As Aki leaned back, eyes darting about, even speaking a few words of nervousness. Cathrine would do naught but answer her with a pleasant smile. “Yes, it was.” The certainty in her voice would surely leave Aki no room for doubt.

And for a moment Cathrine pondered making some sappy statement about them now being together. But figured even voicing the thought would invite doubt into Aki’s mind. And she did not wish to do so.

But for once Cathrine found herself at an impasse. Uncertain in what she ought to do. Should she continue, ask another Kiss of Aki or perhaps something more? But surely the timid woman would decline given their audience. But at the same time, in action was not a cause she could stay either.

Decisions, decisions.

Cathrine took the tomato red face as confirmation. She had been right.

Slowly Aki inched closer and closer. So close that there was practically nothing separating them. And then for a moment it seemed Aki was about to Torchic-out of the kiss.

But Tropius seemed to have other plans.

Their lips met. Aki was awkward, inexperienced even. She sensed the nervousness in Aki’s hands and allowed them to join with her own as she took charge of the kiss. Leading Aki’s lips it a mother steady rhythm or at least attempted to do so. But with Aki’s nervousness, Cathrine sure had her work cut out for her.
