two sets of eyes turn to watch him as he commands himself — or something else — to relax. questioning blue and inquisitive amber follow him as takes his initial, assessing steps towards mew. annalise is the first to stop staring, pretending to be preoccupied with petting the mythical pokemon. [break][break]but the zamazenta before them turns its head to follow the elite four member on his quick look-around, tail hanging low, eyes full of knowing. [break][break]"i guess so."[break][break]she feels his eyes on her, but she doesn't look at him. there is nothing to be found and nothing to achieve with him, so there's no reason to raise her eyes and gaze into the oblivion of his apathy, to be disappointed by how unmoved he is by everything about her. again. [break][break]"but — i don't know. i don't know anything. i figured it would be just as easy as transforming into any other pokemon. they're different though, i guess — legendary pokemon, i mean."[break][break]frustration bleeds into the conversation. she can hear it in her voice, feel it through the restlessness of her hands. it's not just mew. and it's not just greyson. "and it transformed into a perfect copy of zamazenta a week ago, under the supervision of me and mr. connors."[break][break]a boon for the league — if she hadn't noticed mew's behavior in the training room. her brows furrow, then she continues: [break][break]"before mew transformed into zamazenta, it seemed like it was hesitating? and professor reyes told me a while ago that maybe mew hadn't transformed before sootopolis because it was afraid of something. like, something bigger than the legendary pokemon we know about."[break][break]their sibylline creator had been illeana reyes's guess. mew's ability to transform seems like an insignificant slight compared to things like legendary pokemon appearing from other universes, though, and no divine retribution had rained down on her and Greyson Connors when it happened.
