She won't even notice it until much later; parker jones will be the one to make an offhand comment about the white streak. Only then will Nomi wonder about the implications, the ominous symbolism, the undeniable link between the color white and Arceus.[break][break]
When declan walsh glances at her, Nomi doesn't shy away from the intensity of his gaze. Something occurs to her that hadn't yet, a sudden revelation.[break][break]

She herself had been hunted prior to her ascension; she knows for a fact there are others with potential. Yuina Higashi and Eduardo Hisakawa come to mind immediately. lam logan, the gym leader she'd warned of the DRK Triad. And of course, howard slayte himself. He walks along the edge of Avatarship like a tight-rope artist, balanced definitively over the very same chasm of cursed power so many of them had already fallen into.[break][break]
Monroe rambles about next steps, and Nomi can sense that the meeting is coming to an end. She glances up; the Unown that had invaded their space are still close - still watching. She reaches out to them with her mind, and through Kallistatus and Diomedes, she offers them the same choice: join her, and be treated like equals not tools.[break][break]
Instead of agreement, or even acknowledgement, she instead receives a message (they all received it, she will understand later), one that ends with a note that sticks between Nomi's ribs and squeezes her heart between oracular fists.[break][break]

And for the first time, held secretively within the darkest recesses of her mind, Nomi thinks, of Father Winter: we could be friends. Maybe we already are.
