Kallistatus watches the Visionary, sees her toil day after day to bring balance to a volatile world. It knows that, despite her love for the Unown, her gifts - the abilities the Free Collective have bestowed upon her to aid their mission - are a burden. Without her, the Origin Point would have no chance of survival, however astronomically small. Every action has a reaction, every choice a consequence, and who better to track the myriad of deviations than God's own eyes?[break][break]
Kallistatus itself, who was once a spy for Nisa Holo, now spies on the divine for
Naomi Sato.[break][break]
This particular vigilance, more than anything else, is why it notices the anomalous Rotom before she does.[break][break]
She is preoccupied with yet another experiment related to the continued study of Tera energy and its infinite possibilities. Deft fingers rummage through crystal samples from Area Zero while Kallistatus confronts the Rotom. Invisible, they meet aloft, where the Unown attempts to protect its Avatar from what could be an entirely new threat.[break][break]
It is not Holo's signature. Kallistatus regards the Rotom with careful scrutiny, connecting to the network of Unown that serve their Avatar.
Unfamiliar, they confirm.
The eternal does not perceive it.[break][break]
Kallistatus receives the coordinates, openly accepts the Rotom's invitation. In the end, the Visionary will have to decide for herself.[break][break][break][break]
Nomi found the innocuous, back alley phone booth thanks to Kallistatus's guidance. She did not understand why the shiny Unown-K had wanted to bring her here - but she had been willing to find out, of course. Curiosity was ever her master, the Unown her trusted companions.[break][break]
She stepped inside, picked up the receiver. Nothing, not even a dial tone. Her brow furrowed, and she was about to abandon it when a voice suddenly crackled through.[break][break]
[break]
She blinked, intrigued. She did not recognize the voice. If anything, it sounded robotic. Inhuman. Apprehension spiked in the pit of her stomach, and she glanced at Kallistatus, crimson eyes narrowing.
DRK Triad?[break][break]
The shiny Unown-K bobbed side-to-side. No. It wasn't Holo's doing, at least.[break][break]
Doesn't mean it's not them, she shot back, still uneasy. Into the phone she answered,
"Who is this?"[break][break]
[break]
She frowned. That hadn't answered her question. Thoughts of
Greyson Connors, of all people, bubbled to the surface. That conversation seemed a life-age ago now; had it really only been a few months?[break][break]
"And what is my side, exactly?"[break][break]
[break]
She shivered. Those words were...unexpectedly accurate. Did this person - or entity? - know about her current mission to temporarily end the faction conflict in favor of saving the world?[break][break]
"What do you want from me?"[break][break]
[break]
This could be a trick, she reminded herself. But if she didn't investigate this, and it
was connected to the DRK Triad, there could be grave costs for having ignored it. And if it actually was some other...group? Person? Being? Well. Hoenn could certainly use the help.[break][break]
Too good to be true. A logical warning. And yet - [break][break]
"Very well. I accept."[break][break]
Beside Nomi, a Rotom shimmered into view.[break][break]
