Legends spoke of such meetings under incredible circumstances, some might say that a apocalyptic event would fit into such a category of incredible. It wasn't always that you meet someone of such high standards from your dark and grim past. Aidan knew that in public he'd been safe from most forms of attack when it came to the syndicate, he hoped at least. Knowing how their more shady side worked, going for a public takedown would have been incredibly risky, especially with Martín del Mar there. Aidan was likely safe for now.[break][break]

"I see. Yogurt is good for you after all." After all Aidan couldn't possibly judge someone else who was trying to acquire their dairy products. After all he was getting himself what a normal person would call a yearly stock of milk or a weekly stock of milk if you were a cheese maker, which Aidan was not. He was just a big fan.[break][break]

"Pay? Oh yeah sure, I was totally thinking about paying." Not he wasn't, not a single bit. I wasn't everyday that he'd get the chance to partake in the apocalyptic "sales".[break][break]

"Understood." Aidan would follow Mars towards the register with his cart filled with milk, the difference was that Aidan would just walk straight past the register. Like the many many people that were raiding the supermarket he wasn't about to pay, for once blending in meant he could do the bad thing and getting all that milk for free just seemed like a steal. Oce Mars would have made his way through the crazy crowds ad met with Aidan once again, he'd speak. "Is my vacation being cut short, sir?" Talking to anyone higher up than him had never been his forte but he did like being precise and straight to the point when it came to anyone connect to the syndicate and his past.[break][break]

Aidan was really running out of options when it came to working. How far had he fallen when he had to take an "investigation" job as a ghost hunter. He wasn't exactly one to believe in such things which put him in a very awkward spot when it came to this particular job, at least he wasn't going to be alone in this. He had been told about a few others that were to join him, Rowan Wrynn , oscar clayton and bryan delarosa . They were all strangers to Aidan but still allies in the hard work that was exorcising evil spirits out of homes.[break][break]

Entering the building behind the so called Oscar who would promptly make his move towards the kitchen. Aidan would follow him till he came upon the Living Room. "I'll be taking the living room." The overwhelming feeling of guilt that emanated from this house was very different from what he had felt from the awful jobs he had done for the syndicate, it weighed heavy in his soul and body, especially here inside this forgotten and decrepit home, just like the many homes he had seen in his past, soulless and dark with no future in sight.[break][break]

Ironic that he had picked the living room when they were meant to be searching for something that had died, but such was life, filled with grim ironies. "Is there anything we're meant to be looking for specifically?" Aidan would say hoping one of the others would answer him, after all he was no professional in the field of busting down ghosts. "I'm guessing it's not like in the movies where we find some weird circle with runes and shout at the air till the evil spirit comes out right?" Despite his jokes and the uneasy feeling the place was giving him he could tell that something weird happened here, the party balloons deflated on the ground, the signs that the family left in a hurry, the damage to the house. It all might not have to do with the ghosts but he damn well knew something fucked had happened here in the blink of an eye.[break][break]

From an outside perspective this whole interaction looked exceedingly odd. The complete opposites standing next to each other on what could have been described as child's birthday party-esque setting, odd enough that it could possibly pass as an album cover if someone was to take a picture of the two of them. Two world's peacefully collide. [break][break]

"Oh!" Aidan couldn't help but be pleasantly surprised at how the woman vocally carried herself, charming but yet somehow powerful, although different from the "powerful" he had grown used to from Sinnoh. "Yeah yeah. It looks flattering with your hair to say the least..." He was absolutely out of his comfort zone here, both trying to sound courteous but also trying to not sound weird and offensive with his compliments, a strange mix coming from him. Something he could do at least was try to help her feel a little less foolish. "If it makes you feel a little better I was only passing through for work and had absolutely no idea about this at all." He'd say pulling the over sized onesie around. "I guarantee you this would not have been my first choice... If I knew."[break][break]

Glancing over towards the Smeargle who tugged at her dress almost as if asking for quick permission or to simply pass on the drink he had been holding before starting to chase after the Gengar's shadow that would bounce from place to place. The Smeargle itself being so well behaved told a lot about Seraphine. Although Aidan was not exactly the person to judge that since his Gengar would be tying everyone's shoelaces right now if it didn't have someone constantly watching for it's behavior, which was exactly what Aidan was about to do. "Careful with the new guests... Please." He would calmly speak towards the last place he had seen his Gengar pop up from a shadow, he didn't want any accidents happening, especially near the free food table.[break][break]

"I'm happy he found a little buddy to play with. Always happy that his attention isn't pranking unsuspecting party goers." But it was really nice to see Reaper playing around with other pokemon, heartwarming. "Oh! Were they also known to wear Gengar based clothing?" Aidan would say with a small smile, trying to make himself feel as comfortable as possible with what he was wearing, not exactly knowing what he seemed to be getting into. "I personally wouldn't trust a man who owns a Gengar, they're highly suspicious." Obvious a joke since, well... He was right there. "It is very nice to meet you Miss D'aureville. I hope I pronounced that correctly." Aidan would offer Seraphine his hand as a greeting. "I can't really say I've dabbled in anything art related... But since it's in Slateport I wouldn't mind learning, nothing wrong with being introduced to a new culture." After all maybe he could find himself some new clients within the more accomplished clientele.[break][break]

Well, what a massive turn of events this has been so far. Aidan had spent the very short amount of time there picking something to eat from the table in front of him. The Gengar bouncing from shadow to shadow trying to figure out a way to cause some good ol' mayhem, Aidan knew this so he kept an eye on that too while he filled his mouth with a slider. He never really knew why they would make burgers this small, it made no sense at all, it just made him look like he was kept away from food for years, after all it did take about 10 of them to fill up a normal sized human being. "How did I end up here..."[break][break]

Things were just about to change, with the normal but grand entrance of a new face and a new pokemon friend for Reaper, hopefully. As if someone had entered adorned by the night sky around their body. Aidan didn't know that suddenly he had entered a costume party of gala levels. He only looked, felt and sounded out of place, no big deal. At least he wasn't alone now, two fish out of water, just from entirely different ponds from the looks of it. Sadly, he couldn't really linger on Seraphine D’aureville for too long. As much as she seemed like the star of the party, and Butterfree wings did fit the look really well, he'd give the old lady props on that choice.[break][break]

He had tried to keep to himself while he watched Reaper bounce around like a child in the shadows, it enjoyed the freedom of a party, something rare in their line of work and life. The rarer thing was Aidan being approached by someone in a social environment like this, taking him by full surprise, perhaps due to him looking lost and alone next to a table filled with food and drinks. "Yup! Caught me... Didn't read the memo at all." Aidan would say as he took a tiny bite from his 9th slider. "I'm Aidan by the way and please please don't mind if your shadow starts doing weird things." He really didn't want to get into trouble before even starting his work in the city, especially with someone who looked so important.[break][break]

"I didn't know this would have been such an important party or I would have wore my Gengar suit instead of this." He'd motioning towards the onesie he'd been voluntold to wear. "Are you coming from a different event or did you happen to get a completely different memo?" A small chuckle would leave the man's mouth, as he tried to break the ice. More people finally coming in, things looking more and more like a party.[break][break]

Littleroot Town, small and peaceful, perfect for someone to go missing in. Thankfully Aidan had come here for work, Arceus knew he needed it right now. As usual when starting a investigation in a new city he would first stop by the pokemon daycare so he could leave one of his boys there, not liking to have too many of them with him while chasing leads, he would always get confused on which pokeball was which, but we won't mention that. [break][break]

Cleaning his feet at the entrance of a nice and colorful daycare center, Aidan would make his entrance. Being greeted by something that he wasn't exactly expecting at all, party poppers! "What the fu-" He would shout out in surprise before realizing what was actually happening. An old but kind lady would quickly explain to him that they were having a small party for the daycare since it had recently changed ownership to this sweet old couple. Anyone that came would be invited to join in if they so wished.[break][break]

Very reluctant to join the festivities but the place felt a little empty right and that made Aidan feel bad. Digging deep into his "fuck it" mentality. Aidan would accept their offer to stay around a bit with his pokemon, after all there was free food at a table too and Aidan would never decline free food. Aidan would reach out to his belt and let a pokeball go, letting out one of his partners in crime, Reaper the Gengar who would quickly waddle towards the food table too. "No no noooo... Come here and than the ones feeding you!" Aidan would snark towards the Gengar who would now sadly waddle towards the elderly couple.[break][break]

Only now realizing that one of the couple was holding a massive Gengar onesie towards Aidan, who in accepting the invitations didn't exactly pick up on the clues that this was a little costume party for the trainers and their pokemon. "Oh god! Someone please fall from the sky and save me right now..." Aidan would tell himself praying towards the heavens and Arceus himself. He'd owe a long life debt to anyone who would join him in this shameful endeavor that he had gotten himself into.[break][break]

Streaming Live On Scene from the Streets of Slateport City

This is Jacquelain reporting live, and tonight we're following reports on a local sighting of Yveltal, the legendary pokemon of My. Pyre. I'm here with Aidan Hereford , an eye witness who says they've seen Yveltal fly above the streets of Slateport. Aidan, what can you tell our viewers?[break][break]

Hey there! So yeah... So... Well,, I was making my way to the grocery stores, to buy the classics, you know? Milk, bread, some water... The perfect dinner. But yeah. As I was walking I noticed there was a hug shadow covering the sun and no bird pokemon should have been able to cast a shadow so large. I had to stop and look up to see the red and black pokemon. Soooo uh.. It took a while for me to realize what I had seen but here we are confirming it... I do need to get going cuz I never bought my dinner so PEACE![break][break]

Finally, Aidan had finally been able to find real work for once in this forsaken and cursed region, not that it mattered really, they were all about to die anyway. Some foolish rich kid with a adrenaline kink had lost their way while biking down the slopes of Mt. Pyre, pretty classic scenario really, weird children with their "gotta go fast" mentality, only giving people with actual jobs all the trouble of picking up the pieces when something goes wrong, please don't even get him started on those people who think it's okay to ride pokemon into races.[break][break]

Hired to find this so called extreme sportsman, Aidan would arrive to the conclusion that he had simply fallen off the set pats and died somewhere in a cold and damp corner, nothing against the man itself but that was simply how things went in his field of work, paid to find corpses, makes the return trip a much easier one for sure. He never really enjoyed this kind of work, tracking things in the wild wasn't exactly his strong suit, much more accustomed to the concrete jungles and to being sheltered from all the natural hazards, like this damn puddle that he had just stepped on.[break][break]

He was sure he hasn't been only one told or even hired to find the guy, he was pretty sure he had been their last option, shit was rough in a new region. Regardless, Aidan would solicit the help anywhere he could at this point, specially if it came in the shape of a person that just happened to work for a government funded branch, he wouldn't need to share his side of the payout that way. Honestly he should have all the same information that the Rangers had so he would not be surprised if he encountered a search team out here, especially since it had been 3 days since the man was reported missing.[break][break]
