He wasn't exactly big on the idea of turture, it was too messy and bothersome to clean but as far as he knew he wasn't on cleaning duty, something positive to think about to lighten the burden.[break][break]

He still didn't think the researchers themselves wouldn't be much of fighters but the playing field could become very different when pokemon got involved, he had to be mentally ready for almost anything, and that in itself was a scary thought to have in their line of work.[break][break]

Fashionably late, that was what they called it right? Because that was exactly what Aidan was, his preference of being the last one in and the first one out was one of his many life motto. Quietly he would make his way for what he assumed was where he could leave the present at, not at all because of the many environmental hints handed to him through his every growing tired eyes.[break][break]

Once his gift was left safe under the tree he would scan his surroundings but not for any threats or exits, he was indeed seeking the bar. Everyone there was pretty much a stranger to him, almost making him feel like he was a staff overworking but surprisingly that wasn't the case.[break][break]

Looking around at everyone around him giving people small professional smiles and nods, steadily making his way to what he guessed was the bar, only due to the amount of people there. Promptly arriving at his destination only to find out it wasn't the right bar, he had dodged all the mistletoe traps only to arrive a boba tea bar.[break][break]

Taking a deep breath he would lean at the bar wishing he could leave promptly but he had to be courteous, it was a beautiful party and everyone deserved a small break to enjoy their evening. Putting his hand up and bringing out the nicest smile he could muster. "I'll take a Lychee one please! Thank you!" Perhaps he should give himself some time to enjoy the world too, perhaps one of the initial steps was to embrace the wacky playlist that was playing.[break][break]

Hidden by the veil of night, familiar darkness filling all the corners that Aidan could see, the silence of the night only making things feel uneasy and familiar. Despite wearing his darkest pieces of clothing, stealth wasn't exactly his goal, knowing the night would be the one taking care of that. Aidan was Someone who had always blended into crowds instead of hiding in the shadows. [break][break]

Making his way towards the rendezvous point Aidan could see his superior. Stepping in loud enough for Zev Harcourt to hear him, a self aware choice that would probably keep himself alive, spooking people from the shadows more often than not got people killed after all. [break][break]

"Hope I'm not late." Aidan would say as he approached. Still not wanting to accidentally spook the man in front of him, he had a feeling both of them were armed, himself only chosen a combat knife. Expecting his pokemon would work better than a firearm, hopefully. [break][break]

"Before we continue I do have one question. These secrets... Do we know if they are physical information or only things the deserters knew?" Aidan wanted to know this personally instead of through text since depending on the answer things could change from a simple cleanup job to a torture Easter egg hunt.[break][break]

Entering the room had an uneasy feeling to say the least. The fact that it was only Aidan and one other person really made everything feel like a boos battle in a videogame, looking from the outside it might have even looked almost epic but for Aidan it held the opposite effect. He was even sure if he squinted hard enough the man on the other side of the room might even have a HP bar above their head.[break][break]

Steps would definitely be taken towards the nearest exit if music with Latin vocals suddenly started playing. His name would be called out, a chill running down his spine. "As ready as I'll ever be." He wasn't. Were they about to practice on close quarters combat, Aidan could see the equipment being checked. [break][break]

Stretching himself one step at a time as he moved forward. So what are the instructions today, sir?" Should he even be asking? He had been punished for less before. What if he was about to be asked to fend himself from a pokemon attack with the weapon being inspected, the possibilities were endless and mostly all painful.[break][break]

"I don't think I could ever say no the lil guy." Pokemon did seem like endless holes of food, it was quite surprising how some pokemon could eat forever. If only humans were capable of something like that. [break][break]

Slapping another piece of meat into the grill with the sizzle that signaled the soft and warm sounds of summer. "You know... I would mind a job like that. Getting to make barbecue for promotion sounds amazing. Much better than my own job honestly." It was true, anything that gave him free food would be better than his current job. [break][break]

"Eeeeeh So far it's just been you and me" Aidan would say as he cut up a bit of steak from the grill and put it in his mouth, quickly sprinkling more salt on it. "People have been harder to trust recently. I also couldn't just keep this all frozen for so long, feels like waste." He was sure he had gotten the steak at the great meteoric panic sales or perhaps he had just stolen it from somewhere, he wasn't sure. [break][break]

"Please feel free!" Aidan would say gesturing towards the grill and the cooler with the varied separated meats. "There's some wings in there ready for grilling too if that's more of your style." In fact the man was just afraid of assuming how Mint liked his meat.[break][break]

Witnessing the person that could and probably would be killing you, reach into their pocket for something was a horrible way to check how healthy one's heart was, Aidan would not recommend it. "So a bit of a manhunt regardless. I could do that no worries. Not that I could deny it" It was a rhetorical answer after all, even if it had a small tinge of a question.[break][break]

This whole situation had the sad familiarity of his last life. At the very least this was a job he could easily do and also had the skills do it, perhaps Rocket wasn't so cold-hearted after all.[break][break]

"Seems simple enough." Of course he had questions but it didn't feel like the right place to be asking them, he wasn't about to stain a safe good bye with intel that could and would probably be given through the files he had just received. Part of him was curious about the information that was being leaked.[break][break]

As Zev himself moved towards the door Aidan would accompany him to open the door, a little courtesy never harmed anyone... Yet. It was his home and he still needed to treat a guest as a guest. "I'll be in touch. Next time I'll have something stronger for you to drink." Perhaps he was acting like a friend in case a neighbor was nearby, perhaps he did mean it from the bottom of his heart, nobody would know.[break][break]

Mayhem, chaos, stupidity... All of the best dishes served warm and well season at this Christmas buffet. Come one, come all because it was all you could Monday! The man being carried by the bugs fit perfectly in an advert for bug spray. The man coming out of the hay with his Togepi!? The hero we needed looked like he could fit in the best of comedies. The girl posing at the center of it was clearly trying to look like a Jojo, nothing else would pose like that? RIGHT!?[break][break]

The whole circus had come out to play and it was time for the main event... "The shit show..." Aidan would say as he watched the tsunami of muddy water covers the field, at this point he would not be surprised if Rowan Wrynn himself rose up from the murky waters like sewer Jesus.[break][break]

As the time ticked and the metronome ran it's course something rather scary also happened. The moment Aidan heard the word 'thunderbolt' he'd make a mad dash towards the nearest Christmas tree, quickly climbing it and clutching like it owed him money, ain't no way he would step into the electrified mud water. [break][break]

From the tree he would shout towards his Scizor. "Don't just stand there! Do something!" The pokemon itself still having a brain also didn't to step into the dirty water, it would aim it's AIR SLASH move towards the Iron Bundle. Would it be useful? Likely not but it just wanted to stay in the air where it was safe from the water.[break][break]

After the night of the living dead and the enactment of Cocaine Ursaluna. Aidan had decided that the best form of action would be to go out drinking and find answer at the bottom of a bottle and of course from someone else he could trust and was there.[break][break]

The smell of alcohol and the loud voices filled the air, the neon lights adverting the many bad habits. Aidan had picked a table secluded enough so that people wouldn't bother them but close enough tot he noise where it wouldn't look out of place, not that anyone could look outplace when drinking at bar.[break][break]

With a short glass filled with a light brown liquid accompanied by two cubes of ice, some would even say they could see the small drops of oil from the peel of an orange but what mattered the most was that he was sipping his drink and waiting for his intel man, Rowan Wrynn[break][break]

Was this one of the new occurrences that Aidan would have to become accustomed with? Answering questions to a disembodied voice? This all really felt like a cautionary tale that parents would tell their kids before they went to sleep, to stay away from streange voices and noises coming from dark alleys.[break][break]

Almost like a scene straight out of a cartoon. Another poor individual was dragged, more like ridden into the scene. Something about meeting strange new people on the daily basis didn't exactly sit right with Aidan, he had always tried to stay away from unknown trouble. [break][break]

But before Aidan could answer the stranger's question and as if on queue of a play or movie. "What in tarnation!?" Aidan would say wide eyed as the Sonic ring in front of them started spitting out the shiny Squirtles. [break][break]

Thankfully Gengar's reaction was better than Aidan's, the pokemon would quickly leap out from his owners shadow making it the proper shade it should have been. Along with it's leap into action the Gengar would hit one of the squirtle straight with a SUCKER PUNCH.[break][break]

The situation Aidan had found himself in due to someone else's life choice was getting more and more precarious by the second. Of course the organisation would paint him as an accessory. Knowing full well that at the end of the day Rocket could spin their tale whichever way they wanted, Zev being here was only a professional courtesy. [break][break]

"Unfortunate. I do miss some of the food back home." A small smile showing up as he remembered a very specific hotdog stand. "I like to think people would be questioning my allegiances regardless of Mars being here or not."[break][break]

Even though this whole scenario seemed like a negative thing, it could possibly lead Aidan to have a more positive look in the eyes of the higher ups, a rare occurrence in the field of work that Rocket stayed in.[break][break]

"I'd be more than happy to prove some people wrong and to also prove I'm with the Organization and not with Mars. Two Pidgeys with one stone as they say. Now this lead to the final question he'd have for Zev. "What do I have to do?" He'd ask meeting Zev's own eyes, he was determined to keep his ass safe after all.[break][break]

Dear Father Winter,[break][break]

I hope this letter finds you. I fortunately missed your calling last year, to my great disappointment you found me this year, but I am pleased to be able to write you this Wintertide. I've given great thought to the questions you have posed, and I hand my wishes and dreams for you to do with them what you like.[break]

What do I want for Wintertide? Some time ago I had a glimpse of a better life, a more peaceful life. In that life I made friends with this particular pokemon that I raised, we both grew together with those around us, families and close friends. If I could have anything it would be to meet that pokemon in this universe, my favorite Chocobo.[break]

What do I want to change in my past? This is hard one, my life is filled with regrets. I guess I would have liked to be stronger, not have given up on myself and to have kept making the right choices without losing myself to the darker side of humanity.[break]

What do I want to change in my present? Very much like my past self, I would still like to be stronger, to make choices on my own and to follow my own judgment. The fateful day I stood face to face with a higher power atop Mt. Pyre I realized that I should try to be more and to not give up on my goals, despite how selfish and destructive they may be.[break]

What do I want for my future? To be able to go back to Sinnoh and obliterate those who have wronged me and made the life of so many into a miserable mess. After all that, some peace and a normal life wouldn't be too bad, hanging out with frinds having a drink wouldn't be a bad end.[break]
