Aidan had always been the type to not feel comfortable whenever he had to dress up and look fancy, it reminded him about both of his prior jobs. Someone who had always valued freedom of choice and also someone who never felt comfortable being judged by a superior, this being exactly what Aidan had come to do today. Today also marked the first time Aidan had entered the Rocket Head Quarters.[break][break]

After his fabulous and eye opening hike with Zev Harcourt and a small and basic explanation about S.P.E.C.T.R.A.. Aidan would decide to finally make his small moves within Rocket. He saw himself as someone that could fit as a member of the unit, sadly believing in himself wasn't the problem here, he had to go through the assessment stages like everyone else. If only he still knew someone in the upper echelons of Rocket.[break][break]

Quickly and calmly making his way through the many corridors that filled the HQ, trying to arrive at his destination on time but also trying to remember and take in all the details he could, that was how his brain worked ever since he started working for the Sinnoh police and the Syndicate, always trying to find the optimal exit, checking cameras and remembering everyone he ever walked by.[break][break]

Finally arriving at his destination, Aidan would push open the door to the room where he would meet another superior, he'd once again have to act professional, not knowing the type of person he was meeting, it only felt appropriate to act like this was a very real job interview. "I'm here for the assessment." The rocket member would say announcing his arrival.[break][break]

Quite often Aidan had found himself coming back tot he coast, whenever life felt too complicated and tangled. It reminded him of the first time he had come to Hoenn, summer festival and games, a short period of time that he felt free and without worry, sadly a very short lived period. [break][break]

Along with everything that happened with Rocket and their ability to cause mayhem and chaos with every single little thing they do. Life had been too much stress for far too long. Exercise had always been something that helped Aidan keep his mind clear and focused, the sounds of every wave peacefully crashing on the shore made him feel at peace.[break][break]

Taking a small break from his jog as he took a sip from a bottle of water, watching the sun slowly meet the sea, taking his time to take in the scenery before his life could be enveloped in the forever anxiety inducing life of every single person that lived in Hoenn.[break][break]

"Am I even allowed to get have a break from work?" Aidan would say out loud before taking a huge sip from his water bottle before staring deep into the horizon hoping to Palkia something would save him. [break][break]

Aidan couldn't help but frown at how powerful the Ting-Lu felt, holding strong against several moves. It did feel like this battle would last forever if both sides didn't come to a quick understanding, as if everyone had been blind to the bigger picture today, no divination powers were required to realize that if the Ting-Lu was successful there wouldn't be two sides to fight, only a pile of trampled corpses. Yet to have been injured by the massive pokemon's aggression, Aidan and his Scizor were able to stay strong. [break][break]

Before he could give his pokemon another command, one final ring of the hellish bells would reach his ears and then... Nothing. Confusion, darkness and questions. To Aidan it had felt as if he had walked into a liquid magic mirror, as if staring at the world through a heat haze. At first collapsing to the ground as his brain tried to catch up with what was happening around. They had been teleported, once again Aidan had fallen victim to one of those space manipulating pokemon. "I need to stop doing this" He'd complain to himself before slowly standing up once again only to have no clue where he was.[break][break]

A stadium, a dead stadium, stagnation filled the air. Aidan was glad that he had been wearing a face mask. "ROWAN!?" Aidan would shout while looking around trying to find the one person he knew, familiarization being the first thing he was looking for, only to notice the person he was looking for on their knees and a stranger trying to help them? "OI!? Is mud boy alright!? Aidan would shout at the unknown female as he stumbled his way into a sprint and sliding to a full stop once he reached the both of them.[break][break]

Once he had a clear vision of the situation, he very much knew what was going on. "Hi! Hello!? You don't know me and I don't know you but maybe I can help." Aidan would quickly speak up towards the female. "I have a Gengar that knows hypnosis, it wouldn't exactly calm him down but it could help." Quickly switching out his Scizor for Reaper, his Gengar. Not exactly the best at knowing how to stop panic attacks when he had been the one to cause so many on others, how things had really changed.[break][break]

Aidan blinked, momentarily stunned by the unexpected recognition in Rowan's eyes. It took a moment for the memories to resurface, like fragments of a long-lost puzzle slowly falling into place. Aidan's mind raced to fill in the gaps, recalling the laughter and shared experiences they had once cherished together.[break][break]

"Yeah, it's Aidan," they replied softly, a mixture of nostalgia and surprise evident in their voice. "I can't believe it's really you, Rowan. It has been ages, hasn't it?"[break][break]

Aidan's heart skipped a beat as they took in the changes that time had etched onto Rowan's face. The years had woven a tapestry of maturity and life experiences into their features, and yet, the essence of their friendship lingered in the air, elusive but present.[break][break]

The barking dog continued to punctuate the silence, its enthusiasm oblivious to the whirlwind of emotions surrounding Rowan and Aidan. Aidan's own furry companion, a faithful and understanding presence, stood patiently by their side, sensing the significance of this unexpected encounter.[break][break]

"Yeah, it's been a while," Aidan echoed, a genuine smile slowly spreading across their face. "So much has changed since we last saw each other. How have you been? What have you been up to all these years?"[break][break]

Aidan would stop along with Zev's reply, meeting his eyes. He recognized eyes like that, he could feel that there was no ill intent towards him right now but he also knew that there was much more to it. "Somehow that is the answer that would put my mind at ease the most." He didn't want to go further into his superior's psyche or past, that also being the last personal question he'd ask.[break][break]

In fact, Aidan still wanted to know a little more about their actual mission here, the pokemon he helped protect still peaked his interest, at first impressions he had no idea how important all of this could turn out but now he surely was starting to see the bigger picture. "So do you think that because I was there and protected this legendary pokemon it could recognize me once again?" Surely this could make him an asset and tool for Rocket. The idea of being a tool once again didn't exactly please Aidan but this time he knew it could be much bigger than when he worked for the syndicate.[break][break]

"I wouldn't decline further work on finding Palkia, not that I probably could decline. Other teams might have more information on this but it looks like I'm the safest bet on encountering him without creating animosity." Perhaps if he volunteered himself for the job he could look more professional and at the same time feel a little better about the tool situation. [break][break]

Here was Aidan again between the two factions, given orders that sounded like a normal job till they were at the job site. Find the dog, subdue the dog and bring the dog home. With Aidan's history he knew that wasn't going to be the job at all, and right he was. History did indeed repeat itself. As soon as arriving on the scene he could hear the sounds of battle, something that sounded like a bell from hell, vibrating through his core, as if it could reach his soul, one of the most frighting things he had ever felt in his life.[break][break]

It didn't feel like the League or even the legendary dog they were after was his enemy right now. The gret beast in front of everyone felt like, to him it was something evil, after all they were after the dogs to prevent some form of catastrophe, what if the dog was trying to do just that right now, what would be the point of starting one calamity only to stop the next one, it just didn't feel right in Aidan's eyes, not everyone had to suffer, only the syndicate. [break][break]

Making his way through the battlefield trying to duck, dodge and weave pokemon, trainers and the league till he came across someone he had seen before. Stopping right on his tracks to join the fray with someone he knew, always felt better that way even though they supposedly enemies. "Hey there mud boy!" Aidan would try to speak clear and loud enough for Rowan Wrynn to hopefully recognize him. "Kinda feels like we should be on the same side for once!"[break][break]

As he spoke further he would let one of his pokeballs go, releasing Breaker, his Scizor. "It's party time!" The Scizor would make it's way towards the Ting-Lu and attack it with X-Scissor. With hopes and dreams of helping the legendary dog win it's battle so rocket could go do their mission without having to fight a three sided war. [break][break]

"Vengeful you say?" It really made too much sense, with a place such as this he did expect to find spirits from the past and angry ghost pokemon, it had been way too peaceful of a time already. "That makes..." Before Aidan could even continue he realized how silent everything had suddenly become. Looking around trying to figure out happened, only to find out that he could barely see the palm of his hands in front of him. [break][break]

"HELLO!?" The fog had simply overtaken everything around him, he couldn't even remember which way the boat was. He'd slowly start moving forward to where he thought people would have went, this totally started feeling like the start of a cheap horror movie. "ANYONE AROUND ERE'?" His whole body hoping that this would a temporary thing, after all if this kept up it would make it the expedition borderline impossible. [break][break]

After taking a few steps forward but what felt like several minutes lost in the fog. Suddenly, a gust of wind would push him back, making a clearing ahead of him. "Vengeful one!? Are you here to take me away?" Waiting for his ending to finally come towards him, thankfully the Rocket Member was very wrong about that. "Oh hey! yeah it's me!" He couldn't see anyone else but Mei in front of him. "I'm so thankful it's you and not the vengeful pokemon. Is it just us two here?" He truly had no idea what happened, with Hoenn's track record the group could have gotten teleport anywhere. "Can you guys do that again in a different direction? That gust had been a life saver, perhaps they could find more of their last group by getting some vision back.[break][break]

Aidan was alleviated that he'd been able to shoot his own question, it showed that the second Rocket superior that he met was someone who could be spoken to. When he was first assigned this task he halfheartedly accepted it, thinking he would be put to work with some stuck-up superior who wouldn't listen to an underling.[break][break]

"Do you believe that one of the sides is doing the correct thing?" As someone who had the oportunity to look at the world from both sides, he wanted to hear it from someone above, someone who had perhaps climbed the ladder with their own hands. It would be good to have a different perspective to things. [break][break]

"I promise that your answer won't make me change sides, after all both sides can have good and bad, everyone is selfish in their own ways. Plus, a wise man once said, Everybody lies." There was no grandiose plan to read Zev here, he truly wanted to just learn a bit of what Rocket was really all about.[break][break]

As the two reached the peak and the rift became visible, he couldn't help but remember that fateful day. It had been the first time he had come face to face with a pokemon that he would describe as "above" himself, something beyond space and time as he had found out today from the small information given by Zev. Hopefully if they come face to face once again that such a pokemon would remember one the few who were protecting it. [break][break]

"You're right on the money" This was definitely starting to feel like a job interview with Zev's observations, it did make Aidan feel slightly more at ease though. "I have yet to meet anyone powerful enough to face the family, heard names here and there but never met anyone." Of course, he did mean the leader of Rocket who he had yet to even have a glance of.[break][break]

Slowly following Zev along the invisible perimeter the two were following. "In this case, the strength I'm looking for could come in many forms. Knowledge, numbers, followers, pokemon. Team rocket has followers, they have numbers and most of the members have the fire to gain power and expand. Perhaps I could rise myself up and show that the syndicate could be both a worthy opponent and a threat."[break][break]

Aidan knew the war he wanted to start wasn't simple, he knew that simply wiping out numbers wouldn't do much to the syndicate, their power was much deeper than that, he had to destroy his problem from the root and sadly that meant he would have to cut through many trees and branches first. "This could be beyond my standings but could I ask you something too?" A simple question, Aidan wanted to at least understand a small bit about his superior. [break][break]

"I appreciate that. I'll make sure to not write anything on the files about this encounter. It never happened." It was clearly for the good of both of them but mostly for Aidan's own image.[break][break]

He watched as the ghastly horse mud skated like an Olympian towards his Scizor, Aidan was simple awestruck by it's amazing movements, some might even say that Aidan was hit harder than his own pokemon was. "You know what. How about I call it a loss here, you keep going and I'll stay here without moving so I don't get all that mud on me."[break][break]

Of course that was a bold face lie, Rowan was far above his league, he just didn't feel like admitting it to himself or to his pokemon. "Close battle for sure." Aidan would say with a straight face while scratching the back of his head and recalling his poor Scizor back. [break][break]
