Genny needed to get to the bottom of this.[break][break]

The Abomasnow sits, behind Genny, as the redhead takes a step forward. "Not since the removal of the chain, no." Nothing physical. But the whole ordeal had taken a massive toll on Genny's psyche, and how powerless she felt. "You seem a lot more sensible than your contemporaries... so why?"[break][break]

"Why Rocket?"[break][break]

Her guard was down now... Frosty's too, out of the request. It'd be so easy.

In so short words, the Rocket dismantles her entirely. Hazel eyes emptily stare forward... at the hopeless fight here. The push that they are giving, how much they give off in turn. Genny's eyes are pouring now, and as he tells her that sniffling will get her nowhere... her knees buckle under that weight. The load too much.[break][break]

She should give up. Even so, Orville doesn't stop, even when given such a terrible fighter, even when they MEGA-evolve, and take it with the gem effortlessly. Even so, Wright is stricken with the DRAGON BREATH, the pain still there, as both Pokemon give it their all, every step they can, every push. They would not fall here. Their eyes once again, are on Genny.[break][break]

She can't save them. So many of them died for her. And for what reason? Out of love? Her talk with DEREK HOFFMAN floods her mind... all that good... it didn't matter where it put her. Was she about to lose? Was she not going to have a chance to avenge them?[break][break]

Were they about to die?[break][break]

And then she responded to him before. They gave it their all to give me the world. She stops sniffling. She remembers the words she spoke. "I want to give it back." She whispers, and reinforces herself, fists clinching into the sand, grabbing at it. She was being so weak... this whole time, they threw their lives away. Every one of them. When it should be an equal partnership. This wasn't fair. If she lost that belief... then that was the same as leaving them to die.[break][break]

"You're right." She climbs to her feet. "I've been pathetic." She stares on. Both the Teddiursa and the Togetic stop, both having eyes fully on her. Both of them start to tear up at once. The fight they gave wasn't meaningless. "One day... I'll be Champion. I'll make them proud." She digs her fingers into her hands... and lets the sand fall away.[break][break]

Both the Teddiursa and the Togetic watch on. Hazel eyes meet both of them, one after another.[break][break]

"My dream isn't a mistake. So fight your hardest. I'm with you. All the way."[break][break]

The blast of white light engulfs both the Teddiursa and Togetic, at the same time. Their forms changing immensely, Orville growing in scale, at least tripling in size, as Wright's wings become all of her. The duo together shining brilliantly.[break][break]

The light fades.[break][break]

"Play Rough." The new Ursaring lands next to the Sableye, and throws a left claw out, intent to swipe downwards into the ghost, to dig their claws into the specter.[break][break]

"Double Edge." The new Togekiss follows in kind, racing through the sky, to collide into the Hisuian Goodra, no matter the damage dealt back.[break][break]

Her vision is more determined. She may be exhausted. But for the moment, despite her tiny frame, she could do it.

The rain empowers the Poliwrath's jetstream of water, massive in scale, as it throws Fawkes tumbling through the wet sand, as he flips and tumbles, landing with a weak chirp, as he tries to push through the pain. But... another SPEED BOOST. That Poliwrath won't get another attack on him, and Genny ensures this.[break][break]

"Flame Charge. Keep getting faster." The flame burns in the Torchic's eyes, and even if the power of the move is weakened here, as the little chicken goes in to strike, it won't make a difference.[break][break]

He's already faster, as he begins to speed around the goliath of a water tank here.[break][break]

Guardian has different struggle. Taking the SLUDGE BOMB, the caustic waste blast hitting the Duskull, the FUTURE SIGHT is done. It's just a matter of time now.[break][break]

"The one we practiced. Psychic." Genny calls out again, and the Duskull's eyes light up, and with it, the little ghost intends to lift the Seviper to throw the snake right into the Poliwrath. Tiny Pokemon they may be, but they are not to be underestimated.[break][break]

She calls out.[break][break]

"Why? Is this really the life you want?" An attack on three fronts, Genny takes a step forward. Hazel eyes look longingly. She doesn't want to hurt them. Or take them in. She just wants peace.

It's not his intention to bat Mr. Hoffman down, but he's not wrong. It's the world that needs to be proven wrong. Genny takes that in stride, a nod from her head, as she holds onto her chest.[break][break]

"Yeah. You're right." That sunny smile tries to stay on, but with a hand over her heart, she perks up again, even with the smile fading.[break][break]

With a shake of her head, she remarks. "You've done plenty. Realism and idealism are both important to each other, aren't they? Reach for the stars, but keep your feet on the ground." It was a Herculean task she was reaching for true. But with the proper ridicule given, it only fueled the fire more in her.[break][break]

"You're a good person, Derek."

The run is made even faster, when Wander practically bursts from her Pokeball, and hoists Genny on her back, running on all fours to get where Genny needed. The very little time he had to ride Pokemon was paying off.[break][break]

When they reach the block, to the house Agent Graves mentions, Genny tucks and rolls off, racing towards the door. When she hears him call for his Kecleon, the element of surprise is no longer needed.[break][break]

Property damage? She'll pay for it later.[break][break]

With a command towards Wander, she orders. "Open it!" And with it, the midnight Lycanroc moves in with a STONE EDGE to throw the door fully open, smashing it off its hinges. Genny races in soon after, the Lycanroc behind, eyes red as they enter the darkness.[break][break]

It's so dark, it's impossibly hard to see in here without the aid of the moonlit night, but she's sure she heard Gunner. He called the Kecleon 'Kay', so... she must be in the right house, right?[break][break]

Another PSYBEAM flies towards the entry of the foyer, and Wander steps in front to take the blast head on, growling with intensity as she slides back.[break][break]

A Hypno.[break][break]

"We've got the door, Agent Graves." With a nod, Wander begins to STEALTH ROCK towards the door. No Hypno getting out this way. No chance.

With a delighted smile in return, Genny plops herself down next to him, joined by her Treecko. The little gecko now tired from a tiny bit of harmony to the song, she naps akin to a cat in Genny's lap, letting her fully focus on the man before her.[break][break]

Knowing his name now, Genny puts it together. This was the Dewford Gym Leader, she figures. Michael Navidson. Melody Miro spoke of him, and it has her brighten up considerably. An excitement now echoed onto her facial expression, stars in the eyes at the sight. She gets to meet someone like this? That's so cool! She's over the moon right now![break][break]

And back to earth. Sorry for what it cost you.[break][break]

For a moment, its hard to tell the expression she wants to give behind the one she has to. The one she wants to give is a sulky smile, baked within the loving memory of those that fell to keep her safe. The one she has to give is the typical one; the depressed one over those gone, blending together in a bittersweet pang in the chest. Pain.[break][break]

"Genevieve Cromwell. Senior Ranger." she doesn't pull out her badge his time. She's left it behind, for now. Instead, she pets on Sherwood's head and takes a moment to breathe. "Call me Genny. And no need to thank me, Navy. It's my job." Though the bracelet is fitted with those little stones that depict those fallen, it doesn't make her cry. It makes her smile.[break][break]

Instead. She looks ahead.[break][break]

With a sharp inhale, she begins. "Melody told me about you." Genny doesn't know anything about him aside from that. Dewford Gym Leader. "For the Gym Challenge. I'll be starting once I recover from... this." she finally adds, not realizing how awkward that might be to start with, but as she gestures to everything around, she eyes the bracelet again. All the initials from those she lost.[break][break]

Lost in that sulky, subdued smile. Sad, but happy too.

Dwayne was making her feel uneasy. Maybe it's the fact that that Rocket (marcus kotov ) had slapped her against a wall, but Genny was... troubled. Hazel eyes seemed suspect of every movement. She was uneasy, anxious. His Slowbro was cute, grinning widely, but in his attempt to make her feel calm, or ask if she's alright, it only does more to point it out.[break][break]

Genny doesn't trust anyone right now.[break][break]

Not something that Dwayne has to know. "No, I-" She takes a moment to consider her options... and smiles. "My recommendation is to swim to the mainland from here, due north. Petalburg is a lot safer than Dewford right now. Okay?" A smile ear-to-ear, fake as it may be, it was to save face. She wouldn't transport him.[break][break]

No way. Not after the week she's been having. "Good with you, Mr. Parker?" If he's got good intentions... he'll go without question, right? Or maybe he'll ask for more help. She really doesn't want that either.[break][break]

The Rangers are meant to help people, right? This was so complicated right now...

A darkened gaze, Genny felt the compusion to strike, and with that refusal to answer... it paints a rather conclusive picture. As Ms. Jocelyn orders the Poliwrath to make it rain. Her decision is made for her.[break][break]

"Understood, Ms. Jocelyn. I will subdue you here." One hand outstretched, Genny prepares it. Hazel eyes, jaded by the Rockets who had already tormented her, taken from her... all of it comes to a head. "Fawkes. Aerial Ace the Poliwrath. Guardian. Future Sight."[break][break]

The Torchic rushes through the field, gaining speed from his SPEED BOOST as he goes in for the definitively-hitting AERIAL ACE, while the Duskull begins to peer into the veil of the future with FUTURE SIGHT to ensure the Seviper gets their just desserts.[break][break]

She's no longer sorry she has to do this. Quite the contrary. Genny is letting loose.

With the smackdown that was the SKY ATTACK, coming down and landing a much more devastating strike to the Abomasnow compared to the LEECH SEED, Genny was about to call for the command. An easy Wood Hammer... until.[break][break]

The Rocket spoke about the swamp. And Genny's hazel eyes shoot open, her expression from sour and deadly confident to confused, and uncertain.[break][break]

"Huh?"[break][break]

The redhead is taken aback. How else does she ponder this. Due to this, Frosty can't get the orders they need. So... they have to fend for themselves a moment. The Abomasnow responds in kind with a SWAGGER, intent to confuse it for more time to give Genny a moment to get her bearings.[break][break]

But that's taking a hot minute. "I was... were you...?" that was during the whole Megalopolan attack. She knows it, because it was a harrowing moment. Her entire back broke open with some kind of toxic limb, a memory she didn't want to remember. Not to the forefront.

Have you ever just been completely out of your element?[break][break]

Genny has never, ever worked with this kinda stuff before. She knows OF buble tea, and she loved it. Sherwood didn't know either. But the difference is, that even if she doesn't know, Genevieve Cromwell was up for new things. After all, Momo Sakai was already on stage. A little fun will keep her mind off of what happened on Route 105.[break][break]

For now, anyways, she's dressed-up something fierce. A loan from a local costume shop, she looks closer to a prince, as she arrives, a Treecko on her shoulder as she throws her hands out to the audience.[break][break]

"Hello, Lilycove!" she calls out, jumping upwards, and waving, a big smile on her face. Teeth shining, she waves to more, blowing kisses, as she points with white gloved hands to her partner. "My name's Genny, and this is Sherwood! We're gonna give you a show today! Though-" She sticks out a tongue.[break][break]

"-we've never made bubble tea before... but we're gonna give it our best!" It shouldn't be that hard, right?[break][break]

It's a simple one. So many strawberry dishes, and she's not too mch different. Except? Her's had the taste of a strawberry PB&J sandwich to boot. Pot of water to a boil, some liquid sweetener, add some boba pearls, stir it up, drain... no idea if she's doing it right but here she goes! It can't possibly go too wrong, right?[break][break]

Sherwood would begin the hilarious role of working the blender, throwing too many strawberries, pouring in too much milk, too much peanu butter, too much vanilla, and some stevia. And then, sitting on top and turning it on high. Now being thrown around like a ragdoll, causing a bit of a mess in her work area, Sherwood cries out in fear, riding atop the monstrous blending apparatus for a long, long while.[break][break]

Once sufficiently blended, or as best as she could hope, Genny adds the little cooked tapioca balls, and pours it in a cup, she sticks in the straw, and present it to the audience. Sherwood the Treecko falling over already exhausted.[break][break]

"I decided to go for a classic peanut butter and strawberry jelly sandwich bubble tea! Probably creamy, smooth, and tasty... uh... here you go!"[break][break]

Yup. Genny has no actual idea what she's doing.[break][break]

It was a wail she made. Now, gaining more control than she ever had, and worried more for those who would falter and fumble around her, those who could dodge her attacks, Genny screamed out loudly as Eris Halla' Luxray tore away the remains of her chain. And...[break][break]

For the first time in what felt like an eternity, all is quiet in her mind, her body forced to stay upright as her mind readjusts itself. And finally...[break][break]

Peace.[break][break]

"..." Wobbly legs, as she wants to crumble. Until, that is, as she eyes towards luka chêne, and her hazel eyes immediately focus to try to help. She can't slow down. She's in so much pain, her back is killing her, but as the spaceship is going... her legs buckle. She feels how shaky her own legs are, so she looks over to her. "Are you okay?" She's finally in control. With the sudden tackle of a Fennekin, the redhead happily hugs them, only to double-check Luka.[break][break]

It seemed the ship had moved upwards through the sky, and sailed closer to Fortree City... and though the blood moon shines above all, as Genny can finally close her eyes... the sounds of ruffling pulls her gaze up.[break][break]

"Huh?"[break][break]

The sound of footsteps.... a couple of them. That's... odd?[break][break]

Still. She's more focused on the people who are here. First, ensuring the person before her. Then a few check-ups, namely Eris Halla, Isaac Merlo, and DESIREE BLOOMS. Add on Kouji Matsubara, Yuina Higashi, Vanilla Kingsley, and Thomas Benoit. And of course, El Sunderland who she charged at fully... "Everyone okay?" She asks...[break][break]

And then, she would immediately get busy afterwards, to help file an eyewitness report. Her Ranger work, never done.[break][break]

The blood moon sure looked pretty tonight...

Know how much pain she's in the moment he grabs onto her arm? To say her left hand feels like it dislodged itself is an understatement, she feels like it's pulled, but believe it or not, her grip strength doesn't dare let go. Pet Shop has to compensate for the weight, but she can handle a perfectly good himbo. Genny practically holds her breath at the moment of colision, only to find it all falling down, as the BUG BUZZ cannot be fully dodged, and tears into Genny and Pet Shop's mind.[break][break]

Even in the strike, Genny holds on for dear life, her hazel eyes fastened upwards about to roll up in her head, as she grips onto Pet Shop with one hand, and her bird with the other. She can feel her mind being ripped apart, like her head is killing her beyond a migraine and a hangover together, but her grip just tightens harder, determination the only thing keeping her hold. Between the pain in her head, and her left arm?[break][break]

The only way she's dropping Ollie is when she dies.[break][break]

One more for the road, Genny lets go of Pet Shop a moment, and pulls out her ball. Gigawatt the Pawmi, spawning atop the Pidgeot.[break][break]

"Lock them... DOOOOOOWN!" Through gritted, pained teeth, Genny's roar is a command that Gigawatt isn't used to, and in a panic, he does just that. And with a squeak, the little fighter shoots outTHUNDER WAVE to Neon's Altaria, intent to end this battle. NOW.

The DRAGON PULSE comes so suddenly, it completely throws Genny for a loop. Was this Rocket crazy? That was going to kill them both! She braces for impact, as Pet Shop makes the hit, but the pulse sends her, and Genny, spiraling through the air, zooming through, and forced to make a harrowing crash-landing at high speeds.[break][break]

Zooming through tree after tree, Genny takes the reins best she can, making sure they are not a splattered corpse on some tree, as they pass through the forest. The deftness, the branches, the cuts from the bark all towards her face, all while trying to slow down Pet Shop. And it's about to work. She's slowed down about 2/3rds... and then they both collide into the tree.[break][break]

Breaking clean through the whole tree, a forced stop as the Pidgeot and the girl atop collapse and rolls into the dirt as the tree falls over nearly atop of both of them, both throwing the dirt up, as they land together in a heap.[break][break]

Alive.[break][break]

With a deep sigh of relief, Genny crawls towards Pet Shop slowly, certain that her leg got the most of the damage, and holds towards her head.[break][break]

"We've got to work on your landing strategy, Pet Shop." she laughs...[break][break]

Not knowing that next time they would fly... would be their last together.
