All she could do was try and squeeze the life out of this stupid frog before she got blasted, every ounce of strength she has in her is forced upon Keimi as tentacles Wrap and squeeze around her. And just as soon as it begins it ends, a torrential downpour of water slams into the squid and forces the two apart once more, instantly knocking out Indium as he's recalled back into his Pokeball and Xenon throws out her next seaworthy Pokemon.

The malicious dragon erupts forth from her slumber with a roar, draconic energy surging forth from her being as she rushes towards the still vulnerable Greninja and Shalin. She does unfortunately leave Xenon behind in the process, but the girl is already swimming up for the surface to get a breath of air, so it's really for the best that the dragon rely on her natural instincts while her partner focuses on the whole "living" part of being a living being.

In the field of war, it is not the number of soldiers you have nor the strength of your firepower that determines victory or defeat. These factors most certainly contribute of course, one can hardly win a war when outnumbered 10 to 1, but there is still one thing that could snatch victory from even the tightest clenched jaws of defeat. And that is of course information, the secrets you hold over your enemy and how you utilize it to its fullest.

The names and locations of the League's ace trainers for example, where exactly they may be heading to on the battlefield, what Pokemon they are most likely to carry with them. Any one of these pieces of info alone could be a turning point for Rocket in this war, thus Xenon and Jayden take to the field in hopes of infiltrating a League outpost and covertly taking this info right from under their noses.

"-honestly I really think with a little bit of eye-shadow, maybe curl your eyelashes a bit, you could make for a very pretty girl. I'm just saying, the League would never expect you to be a girl, give me five more minutes on the chair and we can make you the perfect disguise. We can still head back, we're not that far from camp." Okay maybe Xenon wasn't treating this mission with quite the gravitas that it merited, but what else is new with her right? She had still put together some pretty damn good disguises together regardless, one could hardly even tell she was a nationally wanted criminal with how she had put herself together for this. A brunette wig trailing down past her shoulders, amber contact lenses to replace her glasses, binding her chest and dressing in slightly looser clothing to totally change her bodily form, for all intents and purposes Xenon had become a completely new person in the course of only a few hours. Given a day longer she probably could have crafted an elaborate backstory for herself as well, for now she would have to rely on nobody questioning who the new girl was in the chaos of everything.

She had been on one for the past hour now, something that the poor Admin in charge of this expedition just had to live with until they could get back to dry land and off of this dinky little ferry they had commandeered for the journey. And why exactly did he have to just live with her idle complaints and incessant yammering? Well, she's just recently been promoted to Executive despite her many many eccentricities. She's damn good at her job and she knows it, so she's taking full advantage of this new status and abusing it to its absolute fullest.

Kyogre, the Legendary avatar of the seas, eternal enemy of Groudon, blah blah blah. Xenon didn't care about any of that crap, she thought the whole thing was stupid as everyone on the ship knew very well by now. But she had been put in charge of this particular area due to her unnaturally focused assault on the region, she knew these waters better than anyone else in Rocket right now, so she's hunting for this fucking whale and Howard had been put in charge of keeping her focused instead of just drifting off to go attack some poor fishing boat. Something she had almost done a few times by now if it weren't for a very stern glance, followed by another long bout of complaints about how Kyogre was- you really get the point by now, we don't need to get into it further. What's more important than that is...

Even as she spots that wry grin, the look of a man who thinks he's figured everything out, she doesn't falter in the slightest. Patience both is and isn't her strong point, she can wait for the future all she wants to, but she's never enjoyed lingering in one spot for too long to think things through. No sense in staying buried in the past when the future is just ahead.

She likes that Alakazam though, she's got much more of a flair for the dramatic than her friend does. The woman can't help but chuckle and shoot a little finger gun at the psychic type, the tension in the air diffuses as the battle reaches its natural conclusion. It was not a victory for her, but neither was it a total loss as the massive bomb lands in the center of the camp with a dull thud. A deluge of surging water meets the flames of disaster and a thick cloud of boiling fog fills the area between the two trainers, blocking them from one another's vision. "Well my darling detective, it's been so very fun! I hope we can meet again in the future, you might just be one of the few people I bother to remember! If only so I can finish the job next time~ Buh bye!"

The steel beast dives down from the sky and into the superheated smoke, the sound of two Pokemon being recalled is accompanied by the rush of whirring anti-gravity propulsion systems kicking into overdrive, all the steam is blown away in one clear sonic boom as Xenon hangs from Rhodium's limp head and waves goodbye at Nikita and Barbara. Ah, parting is such sweet sorrow. But the pain is dulled and forgotten as the Ultramodernist moves on to the next phase of things upon this island, a new chapter in her rise through Rocket. Things have been going a little too slow for her liking around these parts, it's about time that she kicked things up a gear in her race for the future.

There is a certain picture one paints in their mind when picturing a member of Team Rocket. A brutish thug who spends all their time harassing young women on the street and assaulting men for whatever is in their wallets. Perhaps a more charitable soul might picture a man clad in business suit, plotting from behind a desk about what nefarious deeds they might commit next for their nebulous goals. One does not picture so much, a young woman at a bar in a nice dress just having a good time.

Yes yes, even the Ultramodern Terror of Team Rocket, Xenon Civitas Antheil, can cut back a little and have a good time. The club lights beat with the rhythm of the electronic drum and bass, flashing in the darkness whilst she hangs by the bar and leeches good drinks off of drunk men trying to hit on her. And just for tonight, she's not even breaking their fingers when they try to get handsy with her! Instead she's giggling like some kind of vapid blonde and playing into it, leading them on and dragging the drinks right from their hands, honeyed words tumbling from her lips and filling their heads with all kinds of silly thoughts solely revolving around her. There's more than one way to skin a cat in the end, and whether they're worshiping her because she's beaten them to the ground or because they're stupid enough to think they have a chance with her... well, she was getting free drinks either way.

But hey, that guy hanging by himself at the other table seems pretty interesting! Without a word the girl peels away from her adoring fanbase and approaches Rowan with a smile, sliding into the seat next to him and cupping her jaw with one palm as she observes him up close. "So, you come to little parties like this often handsome?"

The man seemed to know her from somewhere. Her reputation in Rocket obviously must be spreading for even total strangers to be able to recognize her on sight, she can't help but preen a bit under the misguided assumption. "Indeed, the honor is all yours~" She trills as she starts her descent and motions for Dorian to follow.

"We'll pincer them and then go from there, for now I just want to see what they have to offer before I go straight to tearing them apart." A bad assumption could lead to worse consequences, and assumptions were a prime example of past behavior coming back to bite you in the ass. So she would approach this fresh, diving down to the island sanctuary and parting from Dorian into the forest where those miscreants had fled. It doesn't take all too long for her to find something waiting for her, a lone Shinx standing by the dead body of a Rocket grunt. He had been rotting for a few weeks it looked like, the timeline mostly matched up with the reports of when they had stopped reporting in. But... no, this isn't quite right is it? Shinx as a species were loyal to a fault of course, but that was only after extensive training. Grunts didn't have Pokemon that were properly trained yet, it's why they were grunts.

The corpse was still untouched, an untrained Shinx would have started to eat the body by now.

"You idiots have no idea how Pokemon act do you?" Xenon remarks aloud as she scans her surroundings, its remarkably still and quiet for what should be a forest filled with life of all kinds. "How many of you are there? Seven, eight? More? You've obviously been some very busy bees if you've managed to catch every single Pokemon around here, either that or you've got some way to keep your surroundings under control without catching them. Doesn't matter to me much either way-" Rhodium's left head whips up and a Flash Cannon blast burns a hole straight through a Megalopalan who was trying to sneak away. The Shinx lets out a furious screech as it turns and jumps at the machine lifeform, it too receives a Flash Cannon through the forehead for its troubles. "Huuuuuuh... You weren't human were you?" Xenon notes idly over the radio as she slides off the Iron Jugulis and kicks the man's body over, noting how deathly pale his skin is and his... unusual facial structure. Man, if she had any interest in Rocket history she'd probably know exactly what was up with this guy. Oh well.

She chases the future down and never looks back, even as it flees into the depths of antiquity and buries itself in the past that she hates so. It simply means she needs to tear it all down to find the future she seeks, nothing more. The girl rides her ever turning wheel as she speeds down the ruined halls of civilizations past, chasing down the Iron Tread atop her Scolipede and screaming with glee as they barrel through traps and tricks set to deter those who might invade this hallowed ground in search of their treasures.

But the only treasure she cared for had nothing to do with moss covered stone and ancient gold within locked vaults. One can only imagine her frustration as the Interdream Mists thin and her target disappears from sight, leaving her stranded within the mazes of this island and wandering after slight traces of pink fog for her quarry. "Come on you stupid spatial anomaly, hurry up and spit out some more Ultramodern beauties at me! I know you're waiting to fuck with me, lets do it now while I'm ready!" Xenon shouts as she ducks under a pair of arrows aimed at her head, looks like she stepped on another pressure plate. Whatever, just keep moving forwards.

"If you're not gonna take pride in your work, why even bother right?" Xenon smiles as Argon forces the Gyrados back just a tad, just enough for her to hop up onto her Scolipede's head and have her launch the Rocket up into the air and over the sea serpent's body, twisting in the sky and landing in a crouch near just before Kazimir. "You know I will say this though, seeing you on the ground whimpering in pain is oddly familiar. Not a fan of it, gonna have to kill you now." And out comes her sword as she raises it overhead and swings it right at Kazimir's crotch without an ounce of mercy.

Serpentine jaws latch onto the Gengar and dig deep into his ghostly flesh, eliciting a scream of agonizing pain as he instinctively begins thrashing about, but what meager strength the specter possessed was not enough to escape the hold of a furious dragon Crunching down on him to scatter him to the winds. But Argon and Radon are nothing if not in sync as the bug locks eyes with the ghost, their thought processes syncing as the Gengar sticks a hand into the Gyrados's mouth and the Scolipede raising its tail aloft as they act in unison. A concentrated Sludge Bomb pushes its way into the Gyrados's mouth and down its throat, while a venomous sting jabs into a soft spot between scales with a Poisonous Jab, two beasts of the future act in unison to bring down the goliath with their unfiltered malice and venom.

And finally the battle of Ultra Beasts continues to rage on as Nobellium pushes Von Strangle back with the strongest of screams, only a last ditch push from the mosquito managing to silence her as a Lunging strike crashes into her glass jaw and sends her tumbling backwards into the other side of the ship. And it hurt, by god did that hit hurt as the noble roach growls and glares at her mortal enemy with raw ancestral hate in her eyes. The battle was coming to a close now, all that was left was to pen the finale. Once again the Pheromosa Bounces into the air, but this time she puts it all on the line as she soars into the sky, a High Jump Kick crashing down from the heavens to crush Von Strangle straight through the deck, through the lower hold, all the way through the bottom of the ship to drown this bug if she could, it was all or nothing now for her.

The girl is keen, much more so than any of her peers. This was a great point to retreat, an opportunity Xenon was more than happy to take as the Garchomp continues to push forwards past Eris and Bernie, swimming far far away from the girl as she instead focuses her attention on what future lies ahead. But she cannot help but leave a parting gift as the duo pushes forth from the water's surface and into the sky, her Gengar coming out of his pokeball for just one more spiteful blow. A disgusting ball of muck forms in the ghost's paws and shoots down into the sea, splashing into the briny deep just near Eris and Bernie and opening up to reveal...

Sludge. Pure toxic sludge, a ball of raw poison rapidly dissipating in the waters around Eris and threatening to steal her life unless she too is willing to abandon her pursuit. Perhaps it is petty to do this to a child, but in the end its her own fault for stepping into a battlefield such as this. The woman of the future does not discriminate. It is simply how things should be.

The insane ramblings of the woman are only just covered up by the incredible violence happening not even a dozen yards away, the four hundred kilogram bug smashes into the Nidorino and utterly reduces him into a fine paste, mixing in with the sand and burying any trace that he or his master might have ever existed. And still it spins as it curves its trajectory and spins towards Xenon and Thomas with the speed of a lightning bolt. Perhaps its because she can feel the oncoming mist, sensing the encroaching dreams and racing to save her partner with all due haste.

And indeed it comes, that pink fog pooling around their ankles and signalling the approach of a pack of Iron Treads. Any interest she had in a fight is gone as her attention drifts away from Thomas and towards the symbols of her future, taking a step back and sheathing her sword with nary a thought in mind for the one who was once her foe. "If we cross paths again, don't count on another miracle to save you. The future is only so kind so often." Xenon warns as Radon unfurls between them and scoops her up onto her back, both the Absol and Iron Jugulis disengaging from their opponents in a heartbeat as they follow their trainer into the mists for their next hunt.

A cry of pain escapes the gothic Pokemon as the Sylveon slams into it, toppling both her and her trainer as Josh speeds forwards to the end of the catwalk and to that oh so vulnerable console controlling this whole operation. Thirty seconds left on the clock, it would be child's play to destroy it now with nothing left to protect it, nothing standing in Josh's way. So why is it then that the Rocket elite looks so unphased as she pushes her Pokemon off of her and stands back on her two feet, brushing herself off and-

"Rhodium, initiate Protocol Delta-Omicron-Four-Five-Nine. Passphrase, Stride To The Future On Steel Wings." The woman's voice rings out as she takes a step out into empty air, tumbling down into the darkness and seemingly committing suicide as Josh undoubtedly destroys that fragile piece of tech and halts the flow of machinery. All in a day's work, right?

But the rigging only slows for the briefest of moment before starting back into motion. This shouldn't be how it works, so why then? Why? A whoosh of jet engines roaring past the control room's window is all the answer needed as Xenon stands tall upon a mechanical monstrosity staring down Josh and Pinky, her cocky grin communicating everything he needed to know. "Well it's been fun and all, but I think this is where we end the game now. What kind of moron would you have to be to set up a critical operation like this and only have one point of control for it? Everything needed to run this piece of shit is stored right in the greatest computer you've ever seen in your pitiful little life~" She pats Chromium's head softly as she sings, mocking the Leaguer as she drifts back out of reach.
