Just the way she wanted, all eyes were on her as the more interesting folk among them took offense to her words. Yet even with all the hostility of the murderers and psychos in the room directed solely at her, she still smiles as she sticks out her tongue mockingly and laughs aloud at everything and everyone. Hitoshi Inoue calls her a crazy bitch, all she has to say to that is "The primitives always call the ultramodernists crazy."

Kouji Matsubara bumps her shoulder trying to rattle her, yet she's unphased as she smiles and waves at the man passing by, Amor Rose and his Dragonite almost come at her full force, she's ready to brawl as she stares at the two with that ever confident smile as Rhodium's heads mechanically turn and settle upon the duo with crimson red lights. Some like Ruby Garcia take the bait just like she wanted, screaming at her to put up or shut up, all she does then is laugh and mockingly flip the bird to escalate tensions even further. It's almost like she wants to start a fight in this room before the tests even start, almost like she's trying to thin the herd and make sure the monitor's have an extra special eye on her.

Others try to downplay her or ignore her outright, those ones are deemed worthless garbage in her mind, already crunched and thrown into the pile as they should be.

But the one who catches her attention the most is undoubtedly Isaac Merlo as he releases his Iron Hands, her eyes widening behind her glasses as she pushes off of Rhodium and rushes over to, no, past the boy as she shoves him aside and starts examining the steel sumo. "Wonderful, absolutely wonderful! I didn't think I'd see another ultramodernist Pokemon like my own here, I'm so glad to see not everyone in this room is a worthless pile of trash!" She almost doesn't even notice Saki Shitachi as she approaches, but for just a moment she turns to the girl with a manic look, smile wider than ever as she claps her on the shoulder. "Absolutely wonderful, a truly contemporary time! You have one too don't you, ah we're definitely going to have to get together and collate our studies, there's so much data to be sorted through, I really feel like I'm close to a break through on the Ultramodern Paradoxes! That's what I've come to call them, Paradox Pokemon is too close to those worthless primitive pokemon that others have been finding from the past."

"Kouji Matsubara, a loudmouthed bone for brains who happened to help me out with catching this beast." Xenon explains quickly, far more interested in her findings then she is in recounting the past.

As for studying more Paradox Pokemon... well, not yet. "I've scheduled a few meetings with others who have taken hold of the future, but I thought it would be pertinent to go into those sessions with at least somewhat of an idea of what I'm looking for. It seems I might have just found such a thing..." She hums as she sets the reader down and starts studying the Iron Jugulis once more.

"Depending on my findings, I believe it's possible to mass produce these without needing to capture them manually within the Interdream. It can be done, if we can artificially produce Gensect then something like this shouldn't be a problem at all. You're one of the big bosses of Rocket right? I expect full funding and support once I've collated all my findings at the end of this. Thank you for your time or whatever, blah blah blah, all the formalities and what not." It was very obvious that she was dismissing the man as she completely turned her attention away from him and focused solely on study of her subject, normally manic eyes held calm with the discovery of purpose in this moment.

The room fills with nameless Grunts as time goes on, she's smack dab in the middle of the flow as she enters the featureless room with a carefree grin on her features. Her arms are crossed behind her head as she looks around, carefully analyzing each and every face in the room. But the most important thing is the cameras scanning around, watching them, watching her most importantly. Like being in one of those punkass reality TV shows, she was sure that the judges were already picking their favorites before the trials even began.

Well, time to grab the audience by the throat then huh?

"ALRIGHT YOU PRIMITIVE MORONS, ALL EYES ON ME!" She screams as she summons Rhodium from its Pokeball and hops up onto its back. The duo ascend into the air as mechanical god and master, placing themselves above everyone else from step 1. "Most of you losers are gonna flunk out, but I wanna make something clear! If you try and cling onto my coattails, you better be pushing me up so that the whole future can see my ultramodern sensibilities! Cause if you try and drag me down with you, I swear to robo-Arceus I'm gonna bite your fucking faces off and shove them into the empty cavity that is your skull!" One look at her would tell anyone that she absolutely was not joking when she said that, nor was she exaggerating or using hyperbole in any way. This woman was absolutely crazy enough to do exactly what she said, nothing more and nothing less.

And with that, the Iron Jugulis descends back to the ground and she relaxes on its back whilst she waits for the fun to start.

The light of the sun above pounds down in Xenon's back as she rides the arid winds, fingers littered with burns as she gently keeps a hold of Rhodium's back whilst they watch the desert from below. Her expedition so far has been largely unsuccessful as she scouts out the Ultra Desert, using her pokemon for faster movement through the skies rather than trudging through the sands like some kind of primitive.

But even she knew when enough was enough as the Iron Jugulis lets out a disgruntled series of screeching static noises, too much longer in this heat was going to cause Rhodium to overheat. The girl pats its metal carapace gently to signal it to start descending, hissing as a little bit of the skin on her fingers peels off and sticks to the scalding metal, sizzling like a piece of bacon in a frying pan. Yeah, definitely time to get off and hoof it for a while.

But in the distance she could see a speck of movement trudging across the sands, a dot of black contrasted against the endless tan ocean of sand. The girl smiles as she maneuvers Rhodium to start heading for Frank. "Yooooo! Up here, yoohoo~!" She calls out as she rapidly approaches leaping off of the iron beast of burden as she summons it back into its pokeball and thumps onto the sand.

Utilized a Paradox Pokemon in an advantageous way

Results spoke for themselves as the two rush forwards and turn the corner, Kouji one step ahead of her as he pulls out his own knife and goes straight for the kill, as he moves in to tackle the other guard Argon would emerge from the floor and knock the second guard's feet out from under him just in time for the ruffian's tackle.

Xenon would waste no time rushing past Kouji's brawl, stepping right over the spasming soon to be corpse as she hits the door and swipes her pilfered key card to bust it open. And just as she expected, floating right there in a pretty little gilded cage, was The One. It doesn't take more than a glance to tell this Beldum is special as it curiously stares out at the new visitor to its prison, its metal coat an absurdly beautiful platinum silver as the light hits its body and sparkles in the darkness. This is what Xenon is here for as she crouches down to stare into the beauty's solitary crimson eye, blood dripping from her hands as she reaches between the bars and strokes the Beldum's body lovingly. "Just as I thought... an ideal fragment of the future, how lovely~" She whispers, shivers running down her spine as she forces herself to pull back and start working on the lock.

She isn't aware of what's behind her as she looks firmly ahead, to look back would be antithesis to her nature, no matter how detrimental it might be. And so it seems that the past would come sneaking up on her to get the jump on her, a grudge without basis that would ruin her without her even realizing it. Closer and closer it approaches, its mouth opens to speak fatal words, yet the future favors the ultramodernist once more as she's saved.

Xenon turns just in time to see the Zorua's form dispelling and its true coat revealing itself, revealing her true nature to this beast with but a single glance into manic eyes. And she too can see into this little thing's soul as her smile grows wider, a silent taunt asking "Why do you hold such a useless thing like a grudge if you can't even bring yourself to act on it?"

It's plain with anyone with the eyes to see, even if their natures were as far apart as two stars in space, Xenon and Rhydia were fundamentally the same kind of creature. Inhuman beasts who couldn't operate under the rules of society, monsters who only understand and abide their own alien logic regardless of the consequences that may face them. Even if on the outside they could wear the veneer of humanity in their own ways, the ultramodernist and her coat of passion, the maestro and the placid demeanor she carried herself with, they both held that eccentric insanity deep under the surface.

That Zorua was no safer around Xenon than he was with his own owner.

"Ah, lovely, lovely, it was my pleasure really! You're the first to come to an understanding of my ultramodernist vision, I simply had no choice but to accept!" She whips into a standing position and leans closer to the artist, dismissing the wraith out of hand and intently studying Rhydia with that inscrutable gaze.

Route One Hundred and Sixteen. Connecting to Rustboro City and the Rusturf Tunnels, a common spot for trainers and workers alike to rest before they head into the winding paths of Rusturf for whatever their needs may be, whether that be training their newly caught pokemon or carving out more of the tunnels in pursuit of valuable minerals. At this moment, Xenon was actually doing both simultaneously as she scoped out the dirt roads leading towards Rusturf, her newly acquired (stolen) Beldum hovering close behind her as she crouches down and waits. And waits.

What exactly was she waiting for? Well she was waiting for a large enough gathering of pokemon to settle in a very specific area, upon which she would be detonating a loud concussive device to stun them and drive them into a panic, which would hopefully lead some psychic predators to attack, which Xenon would be catching of course.

But more importantly than that!! She was waiting for a fellow Rocket to arrive that she had invited, someone who had shown interest in the vision of the future she had been espousing throughout the organization at every chance she could. She had absolutely no idea who this person could be or why they wanted to meet her, but Xenon was never one to turn down the opportunity to drag another into her mad dash towards the future of ruinous strength she was so enthralled with, so she of course decided to come and meet with this person without even a second thought.

Cillian, Gavin, Chuck, names were just a human designation rooted in the past anyways, one that even she unfortunately had to abide by if she was to operate within functional society. "Chlorine is a good smell, very ultramodern." Whatever that means.

But he is right, to dismiss the possibility of creatures pulled from the collective consciousness would be narrow minded. "That's exactly right Gavin, I'm a very narrow minded individual. All the greatest scientists are, its how we made all our greatest discoveries. We started at one incredibly narrowminded hypothesis and ignored everything else, until we were faced with something so irrefutable and in our faces that we had no choice but to disregard the ideas of the past and move towards the future! Looking around and trying to account for every possibility is a recipe for disaster, you're like a horse in a race without blinders, so scared of every opposing theorem that you never take a step forwards towards your end state. I keep my blinders on and keep my eyes locked to the future, running full speed ahead until I slam into a wall that I can't climb over. That is the essence of science!" Xenon rambles on and on as she grabs some sort of scanning tool from her tray and runs it along Rhodium's necks.

"As I thought, a total void in brain wave readings. That bone for brains was right on the mark, this is a dark type." She mumbles as she studies the readings with an even more critical eye. "You were a scientist once too right? Come here, what do you make of these readings here. This energy signature is completely unlike anything I've ever seen before." Xenon waves Gavin over as she holds the reader closer to the Iron Jugulis's main head.

Her entry into the club is uncharacteristically quiet for the bombastic Grunt as she slides through the doors like a ghost, a large backpack hefted over her shoulder as she slips past a trio of unruly men roaring about how much ass they kicked in the Ultra Deep. She didn't particularly care for all the noise these idiots were making, even the party itself was rather boring to her, not nearly ultramodern enough to sate her wild desires. But that's okay, she wasn't here to party either, she had a very specific goal in mind as she creeps towards the DJ's setup with a malicious grin.

It's violent, it's loud, it's abrupt, it's just her kind of entrance. The music cuts without warning and all eyes turn to the DJ's booth, where Xenon stands over a bound and gagged man who had once been running the music. "Alright you primitive bones for brains losers! Listen good and listen hard, cause I've got some words for anyone here with even an ounce of ambition!"

The TVs all flicker from whatever channels they had been on, the same image displayed on each as Xenon continues. The Paradox Pokemon designated as Iron Jugulis. "All of you who actually showed up and put some work in at the Ultra Deep, I'm sure you recognize this badass! Or you at least saw something like it! A machine from the future, a war machine that tore its way through all your teams and took all your strength just to tie down and capture! And I know some of you captured them, cause I was able to grab hold of that future and capture it for myself!" She pulls out a Pokeball and displays it to everyone in the club, voices begin to murmur as they wonder if she's going to release that monster inside the room right now. But she doesn't, she tucks the Pokeball back into her jacket and continues.

"Now I'm not saying we shouldn't be having a good time, Arceus knows I love a good ultramodern party after I fuck shit up! But what I'm here to say, is that I'm not content with just capturing these things! These machines! And make no mistake, that is what they are! They're machines! And if there's one thing I know better than anyone, it's that we Rockets can MAKE machines!" The implication is clear as she stares out into the crowd with manic eyes. "So if any of you have caught one of these machines, find me at the labs! With your help, I say we can make a whole fucking army of these things! And then each and every one of you boneheads can get a taste of the future, Rocket Style!" The mic is dropped onto the lap of the DJ, she hops down from the stage and parts the crowd as they all continue staring. And then she parks her ass down at the bar. "Alright, you can all get back to your stupid little party now. I'm done!" And so the music goes, leaving that one seed of an idea in everyone's brain.

"Never say never, the future twists and turns in ways you can never predict after all." Of course she wouldn't give him a solid answer for that one, it's much more fun to keep him hoping and wondering like the caveman he is. But that's that and this is this, she's already moved on as she takes the ID from his hand and swipes it through the little card reader that was blocking her from the future she craved. The light dings green and the door unlocks, all it takes is a single push and they're into the service halls.

Now for the fun part. "The plan from here on out is pretty simple. The room we're looking for is gonna be four intersections down and to the left. That's the entirety of the plan. From here on out we improvise like real ultramodernists!" Xenon laughs as she starts skipping forwards, literally skipping as she releases Argon from his pokeball to start moving ahead and acting as a forward scout. Best warning he would be able to give his about two seconds, but that's all she needed.

One intersection, two intersections, it's the third where trouble rears its head as she hears footsteps coming from around the corner to her right, Argon's head peeks from the wall with a panicked look, but Xenon hardly even responds as she slips a knife from the pocket of her coat and thrusts forwards without hesitation. She has no way of knowing how tall this person is, how fast they're moving, but still she trusts in the future to bring her to where she needs to be as her hand moves into empty space. The man rounds the corner, steel cuts through the jugular vein and tears apart the throat, he's left on the floor drowning in his own blood as Xenon drops the knife on his already stilling body.

"Welp, I think it's about time we hurry things along now!" She giggles as she breaks out into a run, uncaring if Kouji could keep up the pace or not. They were in too deep to back out now, not that he ever would have.

Xenon snaps to attention as an intruder announces their presence in her lab, instinctively moving her body between the new voice and her beautiful Rhodium as she turns to face whatever primitive would dare to intrude on her work. Ah, but this isn't one that she can just kill and dump into the ocean like the other grunts that tried to make a pass at her, this one was "Important" with a capital I. The tension releases from her body as she straightens up and pushes her glasses up from the bridge of her nose, staring at Gavin with an almost impressive air of nonchalance as she goes back to her research.

"To claim one owns the future is the height of arrogance even for one as supremely talented as myself. This one owns me in truth, a blinding future that's had me in its grasp since so many years past." Suddenly, she's in his personal space as she studies him, breathing in deep of the miasma that flows from his body while staring... well, to say she was staring at him was incorrect. It would be more accurate to say she's staring at something beyond him, something that he represented and just so happened to be the closest thing she could look at at the moment.

"But yes, I am the one who caught it. And you are Gavin Merlino, Underboss of Team Rocket, current avatar of that shadow of a god everyone is so excited about, leader of the M.A.G.M.A. Division of Team Rocket." She spells out each letter phonetically as she stares into his eyes with an intense curiosity, holding the look for an uncomfortable six seconds before finally breaking away. "You smell like chlorine, I like that. Not quite a noble gas, but a nice one nevertheless."

She probably shouldn't be talking to someone so high up on the chain like this, but she had never been one to observe things like formalities or traditions, too stagnant, too primal and trashy. A fluid world view is necessary to adequately convey the sense of ultramodernism that she wanted to practice and preach. "I've heard that theory being pushed around. Someone in the base camp I was recovering in was espousing some view that Hydreigon's were symbols of destruction in pre-modern times, so it makes sense that it would get turned into some kind of hi tech military weapon of the future." Xenon sneers as she presents the idea, it was such a lazy answer, so devoid of imagination, so rooted in logic and realism. "I think people who think like that are rather stupid. We live in a world where the impossible happens every day, gods walk the land and leave ruined cities in their wakes, infinite energy is harvested from the land and weaved into suits that can harmonize with pokemon, we force new forms of evolution in our pokemon through nothing more than sheer willpower and some rocks! Yet these machines were just... made up of our imagination?" The absurdity of it is enough to make her laugh even as she adjusts the Iron Jugulis's thin wings to test how they affected its levitation, the answer was not very much.

"Is it really so hard to believe that maybe something just came from the future? The simplest answers are most often the correct ones."
