Well, this certainly wasn't your average day at the lab.

Soyeon found herself in Fortres City, tasked with obtaining some of the venom that was present in the hyper aggressive Beedrill around the rural city under siege. Her superiors had been curious about the reason as to why the bug types had gotten so irate as of late. So it was up to her to obtain some of the venom from these bug types as they swarmed around. One might think that Rocket would send her into the mission with some kind of protective unit, but alas, here the scientist was with only the clothes on her back and the Pokémon in her team. And she would be going somewhat undercover, having a fake alias to go by while working underneath the League's nose.

The woman stood in the agreed upon waiting spot, flipping her hair behind her shoulder as a canine figure bounded towards her. She smiled, kneeling down to shower the Houndoom in affection if she was so allowed. A pair of feet would come forward as a towering man was coming closer to the woman. She looked up to him as his stoic face peered down at her and spoke. "It's nice to meet you. I, ah, look forward to working with you!" Her eyes moved over to the buzzing wings across the city, the two looking at the work presenting itself to them. There were Beedrill to hunt and poison to extract.

"It seems fairly dangerous, I agree." Soyeon said, nodding her head. "But if we play to a Beedrill's weaknesses, then we should be fine." A hand went to her belt, tossing out Ferrous, her Metagross as it let out a soft hum. Eyes peered at the Houndoom and the other man. SOyeon's hand gently patted the top of its head as she'd flash a knowing smile. Although in her pockets would lie the tool she needed to get this poison she was tasked with getting.

"I'm ready to get started if you are!"

"Indeed. If I could ever find or stumble across it one day, I'd love to run some tests with it. In fact, just the other day, I was studying some of the make up and differences between average Pokemon and the...what are they calling them now? Paradox Pokémon? They're quite the oddity, especially the ones that are almost fully autonomous machines. Did you know that their exterior isn't fully metal as well? It's actually layers upon layers of finely crafted membranes which..."

Soyeon cleared her throat as she realized that she was geeking out in front of Selena, her cheeks tinged a soft shade of pink. "My apologies. I sometimes get a bit too excited. I wanted to be a Pokémon Professor when I was younger, b-but life seems to have drawn me away to worlds other than our own." Selena pulled out a Pokeball, but one that had a design similar to that of space. She tilted her to the side to inspect it and shook her head at her question. "Embarrassingly, no. I went to the Ultra Sea a while ago, but never did run into many Pokémon. Just a League Officer and a trainer down there."

Their conversation was interrupted by thundering stomps, as in front of them would be two rivaling large Pokémon. A Mammoswine and a Copperajah. They seemed to be having a feud of some kind as Ignis was watching nearby. "Pardon me for a moment, Selena. I've always wanted a Mammoswine to ride. Je suis désolé." She said, whistling at Ignis as she pointed at the opposing ice type. "Flare Bliz!" The Charizard roared towards its target, bathing itself in flames as it smashed into the Mammoswine, sending it back some feet on impact. Once it was done, she threw a Pokeball at the lumbering Pokémon, capturing it inside of its ball.

"I see the Copperajah here are as prideful as ever. This was more than likely just a fight between the two."

Soyeon watched as the train would collapse down into the terrain below. She smiled at the work they had done, one less glob of poison to really go around and hurt somebody or something. So far, by the looks of things, they were putting a dent in how this town was ridding itself of the poison plague that had gripped it tight. She was about to take it easy before the alarms would begin to ring. Shouts and words of something approaching the gate could be heard, as the woman looked towards the entrance into town. She opened her mouth to speak before another threat loomed on the horizon. A gigantic Garbodour rose from the middle of the town that smelled about as pleasant as it looked.

"Ugh...It smells awful..." Soyeon mumbled to herself, holding her nose as the scientist called for Ferrous. The Metagross moved towards its owner and lowered its head to then quickly allow her to step onto his head and then brace herself. "Let's head for the front gates, Ferrous!" The two sped off, passing by many people, with one man crying out for a "Roxie" as Ferrous passed him just in time to disappear into the crowd. It was a short dash to the front line, as the front gates bashed from the outside as the bird going outside was storming the gate. Soyeon launched into action with the other defenders, ordering Ferrous to use Psychic on the bird.

Soyeon blinked at the bit of language given to her, recognizing it as the language of Kalos. She paused, racking her brain in an attempt to try and figure out the proper response. "Oh! I studied abroad in Kalos during university." she smiled and cleared her throat, trying to recall the correct pronunciation. "Enchantée, madame Selena." She snickered to herself and hoped that she hadn't butchered the language too much.

Although their meeting was interrupted by the furious revving of an engine, the lone Revavroom would prove no match for Selena's Delphox. She smiled while looking about as they continued their conversation about the snowy area. Soyeon was thankful for the heavy coat, though the ski goggles may have been a tad too much for her. "I wasn't, no. I would have been back in Unova by the time Kyurem attacked here. It's a fascinating study. A side project, really. I'm typically more at home studying the effects of Ultra Space and the like." She said, geeking out about her favorite topic. Even behind her goggled eyes, the irises lit up with excitement at the mention of the place.

More Pokémon were shifting around the environment, as she looked off to the side where Ignis was currently stomping about near a Perrserker. The fire type roared, blasting the poor style type with a direct hit *Inferno* as it was blasted a few feet away. She turned back and gasped at the sight. "Oh dear, try and be careful, Ignis. We're trying to study the Pokémon here. Although I do need some more steel types..." she smiled coyly, pulling out a Powerball and throwing it at the defeated Perrserker before continuing with Selena.

"What brings you to these frozen lands, Selena?"

WHO AM I?

Soyeon is a rocket scientist currently assisting aboard many projects, having been forced into the field. When she was young, the girl dreamed of becoming a well known Pokemon Professor as she took her studies seriously and became the ever studious little bookworm of her class. Things came to a head when she was unable to afford continuing education, when a strange man offered to pay for her time to study at university on his dime. Without any option, her parents agreed and Soyeon went to university. Unbeknownst to her, the man was affiliated with Rocket and slowly provided her with materials and data to become familiar with in her projects, solely to prepare her for service. After graduating, Soyeon was give an ultimatum: join or her parents would suffer the consequences.

GOING WAY BACK

Naturally, as both grew up in Unova, there's some chance they met once or twice, as she lived in Driftveil before moving to attend university. It's possible, although not as hard of an angle as the university friendship.

Speaking of which, as both character attended university, one possible option was that both could attend Castelia City University, although she would have majored in natural sciences, astronomy or other such related fields. They could have met possibly as Soyeon helping her with studying or taking a class together. She's a bit of a nerd that definitely would have taken on a tutor role. Or possibly just two girls that got chatty one day.

BEHIND CLOSED DOORS...

How steamy! Soyeon could maybe be a bit of a casual or previous fling. Maybe she dragged her to a party and managed to convince her into a few drinks before things got too rowdy. It could have been that awakening for the poor sheltered bookworm that maybe she leans a certain way?

Maybe she's never gotten over you and remains in occasional contact, though curious about what a hostess club is, or what kind of things they do at such a venue? Maybe it's time to drag the bookworm from her lair once again?

Ah, another day at Lilycove City. Soyeon had been taking a bit of a day for herself as the sun shined down on her. She wore civilian clothes sans the lab coat now, wanting to work on getting less pale and pasty. In her hands was an infant Bulbasaur, enjoying its position as she cradled it in her arms. Small vines reached to drift behind her as its owner walked along and looked out to see two figures in the distance. The first was a woman in the water, but the second was a smaller Pokémon. One that she couldn't make out from a distance. But what she could see what the steel type sputtering around, trying to remain upright in the water. Soyeon stopped and watching out of feeliung anxious about the situation. The woman did pull him up but then placed him right back into the water.

"HEY!" Soyeon came running from afar. the worried Rocket scientist barreled over anything in her sprint towards the shore. Her feet tripped over the pavement and would have careened forward to faceplant with the street had it not been for Vacoule's vines pushing her back up before the impact. Now fully back on two feet, the woman stormed over to the other woman in a flurry.

"What're you doing?! Can't you see that he can't swim?" she asked, looking at the poor wet Perrserker. "Are you seriously trying to drown your Pokémon like that?"

Madd made Soyeon exhale, offering her a worried frown. She was so unaffected socially but her wound, and the woman wanted to scold her but stopped. Her words left her mouth before she could think: "You're lucky you're cute." she said through an anxious expression, her brain not registering about what she had said unintentionally while looking back up towards the fallen Calyrex. There was something to be said about the death of such a mythical creature that was beyond their understanding. It was a sad day for all of the scientific community. They most likely weren't going to be able to question it any more beyond the answers it gave. No source of knowledge of what they might be able to do. Although she did worry about what Rocket could have plans for it somehow. The memory of Cillian Quinn showing her the Shadow Luiga had stuck with her for some time. She worried if such a fate would befall another Pokemon, even with that infernal machine broken for good.

Several pillars opened up with images of towns and cities of Galar. Soyeon grew curious about what each could hold and looked about to see both Quinns and even Madd getting ready to enter Circhester. There was a good bulk of people going into there, although Soyeon did look at the other pillars and then back to the others. "Ah, I'll go with the other forces to back them up. You seem to have this under control...And Madd, watch your wound." She warned, looking towards the pillar to MOTOSOKE.

Well, her hand wasn't bitten at least. It was a start.

Soyeon cautiously reached for the cell door to unlock it, a soft clank heard as bars and such slid out of place. The door went ajar and Soyeon cautiously slid inside of the small holding cell as her eyes remained on Elinor. Once both feet were inside, Soyeon closed the door behind her without breaking eye contact. The soft jingling of keys signaled that they were both inside of here with one another. She knelt down to be close enough to the woman as she looked her over. Sure, she wasn't a doctor by any means, but it was very clear she had some kind of trauma. In a perfect world, Soyeon could solve every issue like the doctors on those television shows, but alas, here she was. The woman's weak and skeptical gaze made Soyeon hesitate, eyes locking onto hers. It was like a Deerling staring into the eyes of an oncoming Garchomp. A soft tint came to her cheeks as she looked towards the claw marks. They were enemies by definition, but Soyeon did want to try and help ease her pain. She wasn't trusted all that much, but maybe Soyeon could win her over.

A hand fell over Elinor's body, remaining careful to not to disturb or cause any more pain. They moved to gently move to the woman's inner shoulder and tap around. There was a quiet silence as Soyeon frowned, and would press down on Elinor's pale skin. "You were pretty scary in the Ultra Sea. I'm envious that you can battle so well. I'm just a desk worker here, s-so battling is kind of out of my League." Once a proper spot was found, she reached inside of her bag and would pull out an empty syringe with the barrel full of a clear liquid inside. Soyeon reloaded the chamber and pressed the plunger down until a brief stream of liquid spurted out. "This should help your pain. I'll see what I can do about the claw marks."

One injection later, Soyeon had gently pulled the needle out of Elinor's skin and quickly cleaned the little wound as best she could. Nothing in the way of smaller bandages, but hey. She wasn't in the position to be picky. "Something to ease the pain. I can't get the heavy duty kind that will help give you some rest, but it should help, here." She got out a roll of bandaging and got to work on fixing up her wounds.

"If I may ask, how did you get captured?" The woman asked while finishing up covering one of many long, jagged marks against Elinor's skin. "I would have thought you of anybody else in the Ultra Sea would prove impossible to capture."

The appearance of another voice caught Soyeon off guard. The poor woman jumped out of her bundled up and warm coat as she spun around, holding her notebook at the ready to defend from any attacks. But as nothing came to impact her flimsy shield, the scientist opened up an eye to then see the other woman eyeing the notebook in her hands. Soyeon casually brought it to her chest again, somewhat relieved to not be under attack, and then exhaled. "Sorry, I didn’t really even see you there." she said, her eyes rising to meet Selena’s. "I was just…" The woman began, debating on whether or not she should reveal what she’s been doing. Selena across from her did look official, that stern and unflinching gaze. It intimidated the Rocket, but more so from being that strict bold woman that Soyeon wished she could be. But then again, everything else struck fear into her. She wasn’t doing some top secret assignment and was here for personal benefit anyway, so why not indulge her a little?

"I’m actually, ah, gathering information about the Pokemon in this area for research." she began. "What makes them survive in such a harsh climate and if the exposure to Kyurem’s abilities have had any effect on them. Alongside some Pokemon catching, of course. I take it you’re here for a winter stroll as well?" Regardless of her answer, Soyeon gave a smile, although her eyes glanced away every now and again before returning. Ignis raised its head at the stranger, letting out a small grunt as it would glance around the environment, as if it scan it.

"My name is Soyeon. It’s a pleasure to meet you." SOme sounds from nearby had come before the two, as a Revavroom would roar towards the two of them, with the scientist jumping at the noise again. Eyes scanning the steel type as she observed it with interest. "How peculiar. I wouldn’t think a Revavroom would be in this sort of environment. They usually stick to more urban areas, especially one of that size." She scribbled some notes down on her notebook quickly, then glancing towards Selena. "I have a Varoom back at my lab. Would this one interest you?"
