The small Bulbasaur would stare back at Madd, letting out a cheerful "Bulba!" at the brown haired woman as Soyeon adjusted her stance to hold it perfectly. "This is Vacoule. I was jogging recently and I discovered an egg on the side of the road and wanted to keep it safe while I found its mother. I never did and decided to keep him as my little lab assistant." He did help in his own way, collecting papers or reports here and there, with his vines while sometimes making a mess of things, which Soyeon both adored from the sight and dreaded the eventual clean up. Thankfully she didn't seem to mind the way much while both would stand together. She gave her own little opinion on her area of study, which, fair enough. Most people didn't really have the best of opinions on Ultra Beasts, and she wasn't going to blame them.

Soyeon laughed a little to herself, maybe out of nervous habit or maybe she just found it ironic how she chose an area of study to get away from the danger that focused directly on it. "It's funny, really. They're powerful, fearsome creatures. Capable of destroying our world in every which way. And yet...they fascinate me. Perhaps it's just the beauty in something so terrifying. That even outside of our world, there exist some semblance of life out there." She offered her view, the glimmer of excitement in her eyes a clear example of her love for the subject. "Or maybe I just want to have one for myself. Either way, it's a passion of mine."

The plan was set and the two knew what they were going to do. The lavender haired woman gave a confident nod to Madd as she held up their supplies. She noted the way that Yakuza looked at the mention of how he and Madd had seemed to meet before smiling a little herself. "I can see why. He looks very strong for an Obstagoon like him." she sweet talked the Pokemon while following behind them. While she didn't exactly have the most properly trained team, she could at least offer her help in some way.

"I have a Decidueye should we need aerial recon or a sniper." she offered. "I can't imagine they'll be too inviting once they figure out what we're up to. Other than that, I only really have a lot of destructive options. Things that may have a bit of danger to the environment."

"Ah, my mistake. You would definitely be a good gym leader when you're older if you keep at it." Soyeon said, grinning at Aaron as she'd shift around on the sand, looking back out at the Pokemon wandering, floating and playing about. She envied how carefree they could bee, her own worries bleeding into life so much that Soyeon had often found it so hard to really just quell those voices in her head whispering about her own life thus far. "You know, I did acquire some new Pokemon since we've met." she said to Aaron, setting Vacoule down as the baby Bulbasaur began to explore the sandy beach by digging inside of the sand. "If you're looking for a rematch, I could use some help with trainer battles. This time without any distractions or anything."

He did seem to understand her plight, even if it was a little blunt. "It's alright. I've learned there's really not any point in looking for hope where there is none. All I can really do is to just work hard enough that I forget what it is I'm there for. Not really any point in fighting against what I can't win."

But then he'd talk about his friends he mentioned before. The one that had been trapped in Rocket like her. It was surprising to see that a League official had been the one to make the other kid feel like she needed to be in Rocket. The newsflash didn't really phase her any, not after her brief stint in Ultra Space. "It doesn't surprise me. Most people don't really care about a random person's reasons for being League or Rocket affiliated. We're just slaves to our preconceptions and instincts, after all. It's what makes us the same as any other living thing in this world. I've sort of learned that people will always take precedent over a faction or organization any day, to me at least. I've met a lot of people in Rocket. People who aren't totally evil or in it for a cause. Just because they desire something that Rocket can provide. It's most likely the same way with the League. I can try and assist you in searching for a way to help your friend to the best of my ability, but again, I can only do so much."

She smiled a little sympathetically as Aaron in her own little awkward way, though she'd follow this up by reaching for another sandwich or drink. "What I can do is offer you a friend. It's not much, and you probably have more interesting people than me, but you're a good kid. If you ever need a place to stay or somebody to talk with, I'll be open. I have a small apartment in Dewport that you can use if you're ever in need of a bed."

Another outing, another chance to procure some kind of data from the many odd jobs around Hoenn. Soyeon had been drowning herself in work again and felt the need to get a bit of sunlight and fresh air while the woman would spot a posting about a fellow Rocket in need of some assistance dealing with some kind of dark-type issue. According to the ad, it seemed fairly easy enough. Just culling the herd of canine Pokemon that had been causing trouble, or at least making sure they got the hint to stay away. Plus, it might be fun to find some kind of stretching for Vacoule. The little guy needed some time to stretch his legs. With a quick flick of the wrist and typing in a few details, Soyoen was off to go and meet her partner.

She arrived a few minutes after Madeline had, wearing her usual exterior ensemble. Just a regular kind of outfit when Soyeon needed to go kind of incognito for the time being. In her arms was a small Bulbasaur, looking as if he had just hatched a few weeks ago. At drawing closer to the woman, he'd let out a shrill but gleeful cry. Soyeon smiled at the brunette before he, offering a loose wave. "S-Sorry for the wait. We had to make a pit stop so Vacoule here could eat. But we're ready to assist you." The woman introduced herself and the Obstagoon behind her, both had interesting names. She'd look over both but then smile and give a short bow of the head. "I'm Soyeon, one of the scientists researching the Ultra Space program. It's nice to meet you two."

Her nose did crinkle up somewhat as she lit a cigarette, though the woman remained quiet about her distaste. Something about the stench of tobacco, the health risks it posed and the litter the butts here known for put her in the camp of "not very fond of". Still, she wasn't going to just abandon the mission over it. Madd gave a short description of their goal and motioned to the tools they had prepared. Simple enough, really. "I suppose it's better than just culling the packs. At least we can relocate these to a more proper environment when we're done. Where should we put the initial traps at? And what kind of bait will be be using?"

After finished with her rest, the woman began to stand up and then get ready for another go at this running thing. It was somewhat embarrassing to imagine watching a pale person that was gasping for air during the first few miles of a race, but she did want to at least make it a respectable distance. Even if it was only to prove to herself that it was something she was capable of. Along the run, she'd stumble across another Pokemon in the middle of the road. A Togdemaru that was skittering across the path and foraging for berries in the other bush opposite of it. It was cute, something that did make her stop and watch the sight of the cute thing. Come to think of it, Vacoule needed some company. The infant Bulbasaur was still young enough to need a playmate. Maybe this would be a good match?

A Pokeball came off to unleash Vacoule, as the Bulbasaur would stumble up towards the steel and electric type. The two would sniff at one another while Soyeon watched in anticipation. After some warnings and such, the Togedemaru would let out a happy chirp as Vacoule bounced with glee. The two would bounce around for a few minutes, racing with one another as they'd fool around with Soyeon to watch. She was quiet but so proud that her little bundle of joy was making friends. "Hey." She knelt down to then slowly offer up the Pokeball to the wild Pokemon. "Would you like to come with us? Vacoule would love to have a friend?" The Togedemaru pondered for a moment before tapping the Pokeball as it disappeared inside of the Pokeball. Once it had finished rocking, she'd smile as Vacoule handed it to her before she recalled him as well.

"We're slowly building up a little team, aren't we?" Soyeon mused to herself, continuing her job.

Ferrous continued on behind Soyeon as she continued taking off down the path as her feet hit the ground to a steady rhythm. With the engine Pokémon inside of her pokeball now, the woman was curious to see what other little people she could stumble across while on her little run. The woman continued on for a couple of more minutes uncontested before coming to a rest at her first stop of the run. She sat down on the nearby bench and plopped down. She drank a few more mouthfuls of water before then looking up just to see a Ferrothorn hanging from a nearby tree. It was minding its own business, although Soyeon looking down at her half empty Pokemon belt was still reason enough for her to go and catch it. "Ferrous, Hammer Arm!" The Metagross hurried over to the Pokemon in the air before slamming its arms into the mixed type's body. The poor Ferrothorn raised its arms to protect itself but was squashed under the might of the Metagross' arm. Once it was stunned, Soyeon threw out a Pokeball and then continued to rest.

The Duality of Rocket (Mission)

It had been a fairly unassuming day for Soyeon when she had received news from a stray Rocket admin that they had caught somebody of interest. Peeking into the issue had given her a name to go by, Elinor Anderson, but also a face. Her eyes widened at the picture of the woman as she recognized her from Ultra Space. "I-It's the woman who attacked me..." she thought to herself. A pang of guilt hit the woman. Had she somehow been responsible for her getting captured. The scientist huffed in conflict, but eventually, her bleeding heart won out in the end. She approached a superior and put in a request that was a bit out of her league, although her background in Pokémon care certainly would lend itself useful...

It was around the afternoon when the cell wing that Elinor had found herself inside of, trembling from the sensations of her skin being harmed when the clacking of heels had come down from the hallway, growing louder and louder. Eventually they'd come to a rest before her cell as the woman looked down at Elinor with a horrified expression on her face. Her arms looked ravaged, with the Rocket kneeling down to the bed with a look of not malice but concern. "Who...did this to you?" she asked with her brows furrowed. "Ah-I'm sorry if I caused this. I didn't mean to get you involved...I just wanted to leave before anything happened to you." She stood outside of the cell by herself, with only a clipboard underneath her arm and a small bag of supplies.

"Do you need anything? I can do my best to accommodate...without Rocket knowing."

Learning how to cook would be pretty beneficial all around. Soyeon thought about the offer, handing the rest of her sandwich to the Bulbasaur as he would happily show his pleasure for the snack. "I may have to take you up on that offer if this is just your skills at sandwiches. Know any other dishes?" She teased while he would go on about his record for mucking around with Rocket. Soyeon did have to admit, it was a pretty risky move for his age, but as long as he wasn't destroying her hard work or anything, she would be fine. The conversation wasn't going anywhere, and for as much as Aaron could brag, it wasn't changing the fact that what he was doing was dangerous. She mentally groaned, crossing her arms while the woman pinched the bridge of her nose, perhaps a little trick she picked up would help.

"I see." she said as Aaron talked about something else. He seemed a little disappointed in the fact his file was so barren, but she had a good idea that it would grow if he kept trying to play with fire. "So you want to become a gym leader, but got denied because you were too young? Is that right?" Soyeon asked. "I'm sorry that you were rejected. Maybe there's something that you can show the League or whoever that you're more than capable of the position? I could even lend some assistance should you need any." In reality, Soyeon knew full well why they wouldn't just hand over a gym to any teenager without a damn good reason. It was not only a huge commitment that few adults could even handle, but teenagers should be out enjoying life rather than going on vendetta filled trips against something. He definitely seemed the type to really be somebody worth testing others prowess on the field, but maturity wise? So far, he was a bit bratty but not too overbearing. Soyeon couldn't help but grow a bit envious of not having siblings like that to really be annoyed by.

Of course, she wasn't going to tell him that. He'd eventually calm down and figure out things on his own.

Things went back into how she came to work at Rocket as Soyeon sighed, looking out to the sea. The same story once more, from the top. "When I was a child, I dreamed of becoming a Pokemon Professor. Somebody that was a walking encyclopedia of knowledge. I studied, read books well out of my age range, placed in honors level classes, I wanted it more than anything. But when I got a telescope as a gift from a friend, I wanted to touch space one day. Be where no other humans have ever gone." Soyeon smiled a little as her Metagross had been busy fighting with Krabbys over taking up too much space in the sand, while Proto remained busy resting on top of the umbrella. The Porygon2 darted around the beach as it had found a stray beach ball to play with.

"But my parents had worked long hours just to keep a roof over our heads. So when it came time for life after high school, it seemed like the end of the line for me. I would be stuck at a dead end job while my classmates went to university and lived the dream. Then, one day, a man claiming to be from the school approached me with an offer I could refuse. I could attend school and pay it off. They even would help me with projects and things. So I went and studied in the Sciences. I wanted to become a Professor, but the man had forced me to go into astronomy. I graduated four years later and then woke up to find a group of Rockets crashing down my front door. The man I had signed a deal with was a member of Rocket, and he had recruited me solely to staff the Uriel Program. When I refused, he threatened my family. He said they would suffer if I didn't follow through. And so, I went with him. I didn't really have any choice. My parents don't know, and I'm too afraid to face them. I would rather die than let them know their daughter is a Rocket member, even if under duress."

Soyeon broke off smaller pieces of her sandwich for Vacoule, the baby Bulbasaur taking a few bites every now and again with one hand as Soyeon's free one had been holding the main part of the sandwich. "You're quite the chef." she mused, chuckling to herself. "I usually order takeout for those late nights, so this is a nice change of pace. I may have to spend more time with you if you can cook this well." She ate quietly and listened to Aaron explain why he was down there. It must have been the worst kind of luck to be minding your own business and then thrown into a wormhole that had appeared from nowhere. At least, if what he claimed he did held any value, there was no doubt Aaron could take care of himself. Minus the touchy part of her question, Soyeon frowned as the kid kind of overwhelmed her a little as she looked away. "I'm not underestimating you, far from it." she began, "I'm only asking because of the severity of the situation in Ultra Space. I didn't see any other teenagers in there besides you. But please, just be careful in the future. I work with people that will do anything to win, and not everybody in Rocket is going to play by the rules like I did in our fight. I don't reserve any assumptions about your skill because of your age, but I would be lying if I said that it could get you in trouble some day." Oh the wonders of teenagers and their youthful arrogance!

She turned back to the boy as he asked her about if he had a file in Rocket. A pretty understandable question while the woman took a chunk of sandwich for herself and answered after swallowing. "Just a basic profile. It shows what dates you interacted with Rocket members, known Pokémon, what you've done and such. Usually the higher ups of the League like gym leaders, ranger captains, those kinds of things, get the super detailed profiles." The woman smirked at the younger boy, leaning back in her seat. "If you keep up the good work, maybe one day you'll get a database entry that needs clearance to read like them. But before you ask for anything more, I can't tell you anything specific or leak anything to you. Not without arousing suspicion on my end."

Not even two minutes into her run and Soyeon found herself interrupted by a metallic looking Pokemon that let out a loud rev of its engines. She threw out Ferrous the Metagross as it hummed with a threatening energy. The Varoom sounded a little under the weather, although she did have to wonder something so machine-like could be so lifelike. "Ferrous, Flash Cannon." The Metagross would hold all four arms in front of itself, fashioning a small orb of steel type energy and blasting it at the Varoom. The impact had caused the Pokemon to Stagger back same, but still hold its own against the two. It revved up a purple haze around the two while Soyeon coughed, covering her face from the stench. "Psychic!" Once again, the Metagross emit a pink glow, then quickly launching an assault of psychic energy as it quickly launched against the steel type. With it damaged enough, Soyeon tossed out a Pokeball and then would collect it and move on.

The sun above the scientist shined down on her, as Soyeon dressed in athletic wear. She had on darker leggings, a dark lavender sports bra, a clefairy cotton headband and her pokemon at the ready to be called out. Her long purple hair jad been tied into a neat ponytail as the loose hair lightly tickled the back of her neck from the wind. She had wanted to get somewhat into shape after sitting on her behind all day when working at the Rocket laboratories, but who knows what she would stumble onto while taking a light jog today. "I'll go slow today. I don't want to pass out like last time and have the Rangers come." The woman swallowed a mouthful of water and then began her run down the Route.
