"You obviously do! You Rockets are the reason why my tatsugiri's hurting right now." It is bad enough that Sergei has not trained garchomp to be capable of handling disadvantageous battles, but he does not expect a whimsicott to be the one beating his ace. Luckily, the attack is not enough to knock him off that easily. "I just hope you don't think a double battle is too late now."

Sergei has to use everything that he has in his arsenal, and if it means having to send a lifeline to his garchomp buddy, then let the grunt call him a cheater in the battle.

"Sanguine, support Valiant." The dreepy then appoears out of the red light, hovering around the garchomp and clearly has no idea what is going on. "Valiant, hit 'em with another BULLDOZE!"

The larger dragon stomps and hits the ground, sending rock shards and sand on the opposite side of the battlefield. Hopefully slowening the enemy enough from the previous hit, the dreepy then follows up with INFESTATION riding through the wave of earth. Sergei has probably no real exit strategy: he probably just have to hit and hit until the rocket is tired enough... or if he actually wins this thing.

Sergei swears he has read almost everything about the wars Hoenn has survived for the past couple of years. The first rocket invasion. The alien wars. The second rocket invasion. Supernatural wars. And this one.

He realizes his question seems to work with everything else that is happening around him, but he still takes the masks. "There's another war?"

Words from his parents come back flashing onto him. Don't go there, he says. It's not safe, she says. Turns out they were right. But safe is not something Sergei is looking for. His chosen life path comes with the price of being at the front row to some of the world's most dangerous happenings. He is just lucky that Hoenn is never that boring. "I just don't know what's happening. I thought I was invited here for a field work. Turns out there is more than just to observing on this part of town, eh?"

He quickly calls out Valiant from his ball, looking at his companion. If this is war, then he guesses he should help. "What will you have us do then?"

The queen of the web is quick to reach into her prey. Sanguine can only look at it with fear as he scrambles to get out of the trap. "You can do it, boy. Get over here!"

The dreepy is determined: he forces himself a quick attack QUICK ATTACK. The attempt frees him from his shackles easily, thanks to Valiant's previous help, and then launches himself towards the spider. The garchomp acts as a support: the sands collected on the ground gathers toward the spinarak in order to trap it in retaliation (SAND TOMB).

With much confidence now that his team is working in tandem, Sergei finally addresses the rocket grunt. "Why'd you wanna know?"

The poison barb is quick, piercing through the dragon's flesh in less than a second, stinging the garchomp of the venom from its legs. Valiant, however, could not care less: whatever ground-typing it possesses will not make it suffer from the toxin, at least for the time being. And so Sergei realizes, the clock is ticking.

"Don't patronize me, psycho. You guys are the problem!"

As he helps his partner pull out the barb, he reaches for a SCATTER BANG in his satchel, hurling the weapon into the opponent's direction in order to turn the tides into his momentum. If the flash of light works, it will give Valiant time to setup his offensive: the land BULLDOZES through, sending boulders and rocks towards the rocket grunt.

YOU CAN'T SEE ME. Sergei only dared to watch from afar as he observes the clash among emboar kins, hiding that they will not even catch his silhouette in the rugged landscape of the Jagged Pass. They are pretty much rare in the Unova where it is considered their native home so it is a delight to see a swarm gathering in another region like Hoenn. As the redhead hides behind the cliffs and stones, his attempt to try and catch one can never be a guaranteed, not with the creature's reputable strength.

There is a seething annoyance in every word that comes out of the Rocket grunt's mouth. If the situation is not too time-pressing and critical for Sergei, he would have joined and be in for some jest party. But after his run into the other grunts in the organization with Callan Young, there is no way he and his party will not be exhausted.

In a dash, he reaches out for Valiant's ball, throwing him in retaliation with the summoned whimsicott. "What eyes?" The garchomp scrapes the ground, SAND VEIL forming as he drags the bits and pieces into the enemy's direction (SAND TOMB), hoping to reach into the grunt's eyes.

"So do I." He responds, trying to sound more teasing than angry. "It's just that we have an emergency to tend to. If you don't let us out, we have no other choice but to force you."

Unfortunately, Sanguine's INFILTRATOR is not unbounded by its own capabilities. Sergei knows the infant dragon is still in his early months of training and he cannot always rely on the dreepy for very critical responsibilities. The ghost dragon loses his phantom as he passes through a seemingly invisible interconnection of webs, intriciately spunned that any attempt at escaping leads to paper thin cuts; the sticky web strategically immobilizes him as he gets knocked down into a bed of toxic spikes.

"Sanguine!" Any attempt at being careful and sneaky is now lost; Sergei cares too much for his Pokemons. From his hand, he sends out Valiant to summon a VEIL OF SAND, washing out any more venomous hurdles on its way to save the baby dragon. "Hang in there, we'll get you quick!"

I HAVE TO GET OUT. That is the only thought in Sergei's mind as he scrambles to get Commander Wise the treatment she deserves. While he's lucky that Valiant recovers easily with the League camp's treatment, the tatsugiri, on the other hand, is struggling.

The nurse tells him his Pokemon probably needs treatment away from the site, where they are away from exposure of the realm's mindtrickery. Sergei himself is not safe from its claws. Each and every time his exhaustion gets the best of him, he finds it increasily difficult to control. It is not only hallucinations, distortions of reality that affects him but also his amplified feelings of resentment and regret are exploding inside him.

Rushing, running, Sergei eventually finds himself at one exit that leads back to the region. Bliss, contentment, there is an exasperated laughter that escapes him as he tries to reach back for hte light. But things are not looking pretty for him, not without any obstacle he has to clear for himself.

"I don't know who you are. But can you at least make a consideration and let me get out of here without any struggle?"

The redhead could never bring himself to tap Callan Young on his shoulder, or give him a hug, or to ask how he is feeling. Sergei's life has been so sheltered and as he reminisces he realizes this could be actually the very first time he witnesses a death so heartbreaking he can only sniff to hide his share of pain.

Valiant uses the last of his strength to summon another SAND TOMB--this time, for an actual memorial for a brave creature like that minccino. He watches the dragon do this while seeing an army of pokemon silhouettes watch the ritual commence. Behind the shadows, another taller figure Sergei swears he has seen before is staring at him, smiling.

Sergei concludes he has been at the place too long for him to start hallucinating again. "Yup. Right! Let's go!"

Walking back to the truck, he wants to return the gesture of complementing his partner for doing such an incredible move he has only seen at that time. Instead, he only responds with a grinning face, "I just hope they got some booze behind that damn truck."

THE LAST THING SERGEI THOUGHT HE WOULD DO when he accepted this mission is to do things alone. When his companions have managed to find a way to get through, Sergei was stuck at the cavern entrance with no choice but to fend for himself. Thankfully, despite the overwhelming number of Rocket members he was warned of to be guarding the premises, there is only one he will be facing off right now.

The tricky part, however, is that Valerio does not know the grunt's full potential yet. Sanguine leans closely as Sergei relays his initial strategy.

"Do you think you can go to the other side?" At least all dreepies are ghost-types. He can find a way to be a little bit sneaky. "Find out if the grunt has more backup; otherwise, we can be a little more aggressive than usual."

His fingers gripping onto Valiant's pokeball, waiting for any moment that he might immediately require the assistance of his ace.

Oh... Oh my, Arceus. Sergei looks at Callan Young first before he can even react. The burned down body of Minccino is making him sick, making him want to throw out. This is his first time seeing a dead Pokemon that is outside a laboratory.

But he doesn't want to. Not when its trainer is trying to keep things cool.

"Are you... sure?" Words tainted with hesitation, Sergei nods at Valiant to get back at the truck. He saunters hesitantly as he watches the horror of the pack of mightyenas hunt for @callan and his dead Pokemon. When he reaches for the truck door, he turns the lever, but pauses. He instead gets at the back of the truck, grabs a piece of a STICKY GLOB and hurls it into the field.

"You crazy." His voice momentary slips into a Galarian accent. "I can't just leave a person alone in this kind of situation, could I? That's rude."

The redhead signals his garchomp and the dragon follows suit. Valiant's fins scratches against the ground, a VEIL OF SAND crashes into the pack and into the SAND TOMB with the adhesive substance from the glob. The mightyenas, incapacitated, could not do anything but have their howls resonate throughout the Ultra cave's tunnels.

"Let's do this together and let's leave this shit together."

Before they know it, the zap cannon gets the best of tatsugiri, leaving her almost incapacitated but achieving what Sergei thinks is best for them to immediately get out of this predicament. But the presence of the rampaging nidoking is a huge hurdle even Commander Wise alone cannot overtake. "Valiant, you're up!

With a last ditch effort, Commander Wise TAUNTS the nidoking even more, allowing the garchomp to be ignored as it attempts a DRAGON RUSH at his opponent. With its incredible agility, it is able to outspeed the nidoking and hit it hard before it can even reach the tatsugiri. Commander Wise is able to breath; a few moments before it finally passes out of exhaustion.

Sergei smiles, reaching for his tatsugiri's ball and then putting her out. He looks at it and says, "You're gonna earn a treat for that. Rest well, bud." He nods at the garchomp who also looks triumphant at his achievement. But luck seems never on their side, as more enemies continue to approach them every time they manage to get the upperhand. An army of mightyenas steadily approaches, waiting for their rocket trainers' signal to strike.

With a tone of frustration, he gets back to Callan Young. "I think Team Rocket already knows our location. It's either they get our precious cargo or we pass out of exhaustion. What shall we do?"
