Here's the thing about dancing. Magnus? He knows how to dance. Man went to the club scene often, and impressing the ladies and gents, he would dance and fly upon the dancefloor with an impressive rhetoric. He knew a thing about moving back, moving forth, spinning someone in his arms, and dipping.[break][break]

Naturally, when someone catches Leilani Ka’uhane 's eye, he does the same damn thing he does with Jasmine. Jealousy starts to spike. A vein pops on his forehead. So some jackwagon has a yacht. Big deal... but this time, it pissed him off.[break][break]

Turns out, the heart is a fickle mistress.[break][break]

This time, he's done it. He moved the heaven and earths tonight, if by heavens he meant reservations, and earth he meant doing favors for someone. Nothing too crazy. But there were two parts to the night. The first one, was the dancefloor. But see, Lani practically frequented the clubs back home. This had to be special. Ain't gonna do somethin' basic. That's equivalent to telling her he couldn't keep it fresh.[break][break]

And if there's one thing known about Jack Magnus aside from his huge man tits, his big personality, and his second head... it was that he was fresh.[break][break]

So what does a man do, but make secret reservations for salsa dancing lessons at a local Mauville studio? He even got dressed up for this very occasion, slicked back his hair, shaved, everything. Kei and Marshall speed around the obelisk. He knew they would. This wasn't some self-sacrifice movie shit, he wanted out of this goddamn quicksand, but it was way too quick. He wasn't panicking, in fact, he was quite calm considering he was possibly going to die, but the intensity of the situation wasn't lost on his number two or his number three.[break][break]

When Charon appears, he reaches for the bone, and thank fuck, he's near seven feet, because he's able to reach the bone, but no matter what, he's unable to get a good grip. He curses. Marshall gets the idea to throw him a rope, and as he ties it to his now-sinking waist, sure to pull it tight and snug, he feels like he's too far gone now to be saved. Marshall's attempts, they were working.[break][break]

He was going to get out of this.[break][break]

But he sinks further. Unnaturally further, to where the majority of stomach is already in, and Magnus' golden eyes stare at both Keira and Marshall. There's a look he gives them both. For the first time, he doesn't look like the leader, the boisterous king who laughs louder than everyone. Because he feared death more than anyone. He was the king, after all. He had to be the most terrified for them both. In clarity though, he gets it in his head. He needs to get it out there. He needs to say the things left unsaid. To Jasmine Blair, to Leilani Ka’uhane. To Slade, and Kei. To the rest of his gang.[break][break]

His eyes aren't accepting. He won't go quietly into the night. But he will say what he has to say. "Tell Jazz and Lani I'm sorry." He smirks, and then does something quite Magnus-core. "AND FUCK! THIS! SAND!"[break][break]

Taking in a deep breath, he tries to cut the rope, and lets go of Charon's bone, and then he's going under.[break][break]

And in seconds, he falls onto his back, Jo-Jo the Riolu falling with him, as the duo land ona pretty hefty bit of sandstone. "SONUVABIIIIIIIITCH."[break][break]

Was this the afterlife? Was he dead? No. Can't hurt when you're dead. And he hurt. His back hurt like hell, more than the burn on his leg, and so he leans up. Where the... fuck...? A tunnel below the quicksand?[break][break]

"Convenient..."[break][break]

Spooky too. He can only thank Arceus he was lucky. But forreal. Fuck sand.

Twenty-three years old. Was his birthday last week. What did he even do last week? Oh yeah, Tracy. Yeah, with the car AND the ass. Man, he got wasted that night, he forgot abot that. Nearly got shot at by her... boyfriend? Fiancee? Damn near started an entire gang war, and they didn't even have their jackets yet![break][break]

Oh well. Today ain't about that. Stretching upwards, he hears a yip from his lap, paws on the table. A little Houndour by the name of Coco sits next to him here at the ocean grill on the docks of Castelia. He grins to her, ruffling at her fur.[break][break]

"Haven't forgotten you, little girl. Still feel that burn from the other day."[break][break]

Oh yeah. His birthday present to himself was going to the shelter here in Castelia, but no dog caught his eye. It was when he found this little pup, that night at the harbor. She was so thin, covered in wounds, and barely able to stand. Defending herself with a bite on his leg, but even so... even though the pain would never go away...[break][break]

He got her food. Then she started following him. And then-[break][break]

Waiter comes over, and he holds up a hand. Wordlessly, at his four-person table meant for three, Magnus orders a drink. "Bourbon." Another yip from below, and Magnus shows a rare side of himself, and a side his number two had yet to see. The pet owner, Jack Magnus. "Ah. You guys do coffee? Little Coco here likes its black."[break][break]

The waiter gives an odd look, but walks away, and Magnus just ruffles the skinny Houndour's fur. He looks at his phone. @marshall told him that he wanted to introduce him to someone. Apparently, an old friend? Went by Crimson? Hopefully, they wouldn't be much longer.[break][break]

Coco was getting hungry.
