The Power Trip had more of an effect than the Close Combat did on the Corviknight. Even though Big Bert had managed to close the distance and pounded on that armor, the shadows hit BB all the way there. Then Gywar rose a gauntlet. Oh crap, was that another Z-crystal? The bird flew up with renewed vigor. BB's horns glowed red once again for Raging Bull. Then the birb dove bomb like a missile. This wasn't going to be good...he just hoped BB survived enough to hit the birb. Or the injuries wouldn't be too terrible.

Alexei was able to blurt out a thanks just before the fight started. The Braviary hit with an Aerial Ace. And succeeded, while avoiding the horns and the Zen Headbutt. That was pretty skillful, to be honest. Typically, something would have had to hit. BB stumbled back, shaking his head. It hurt...but BB was still able to after the bird. Charging again, the Blaze Breed's horns glowed red as he used a flaming Raging Bull. The bull would even jump to meet the bird in the air and force it down. Problem was actually hitting the birb in such a way that it would force it down to BB's domain. Part of why flying types were so annoying for his Tauros...

Yep, the Zen Headbutt didn't do much. Instead, he got kicked off with a Trailblaze. Bouncing a couple times before landing on his feet. Shaking it off, the bull was not in good shape. But they always go down fighting. Horns glowing red, Big Bert charged with Raging Bull. Honestly, he probably shouldn't be too surprised...Matias is an Elite Four member. Still, he felt like this was dumb. How the hell is someone supposed to fight that?! He really just wanted to get this fight done and over with. Yes, Raju was being a little bitter. He was having such shit luck after a good start.

The two attacks flashed, striking both Pokemon. But BB stayed standing. Barely. Walking up to his beasty, and patting him on his side, Raju returned him to his pokeball. That was going to be another Pokemon Center trip. Looking back, Raju nearly jumped when he saw that Kama was back on her feet. Looking at the chipper Doug, the blonde nodded and extended his hand for a handshake. "Thanks. That could have turned against me at any time. Good luck." Did Doug use a potion? No...Kama seemed far too well for a simple potion. Strange...oh well.

They terastalized into a dragon type. Great...now it resisted his fire type attacks. But what surprised him was her flinging her little body at the Tauros with a Dragon Hammer. What?! Since when could a Pidove learn Dragon Hammer?! The attacks hit each other head on, sending shockwaves around. So instead of being fast and nimble, this one had power. Soon, the Tauros barely won out that exchange. Keeping up the pressure, the big guy charged again with psychic energy surrounding his head for a Zen Headbutt. Maybe he'll get a flinch out of that? So far luck hasn't been on his side...but you gotta get lucky once...right?

The collision went in his favor this time. Big Bert still stumbled back though. It was still a hard hit, and frankly one he was surprised that BB handled it as well as he did. Tauros may be a bit of a tank, but Brave Bird was not a weak attack by any means. A strange aura surrounded the bird as it prepared for its next attack. Big Bert again closed the distance, this time with intent to deliever multiple strikes, a Close Combat. It may lower his defenses, but it was a very powerful attack. It may not be super effective, but maybe it would stop the birb in its tracks. They've been pretty evenly matched so far...but something had to give.

The charge worked well, just plowing through the Vacuum Wave and hitting the Scyther. She held her stance well though. Clearly a well trained bug, considering the sheer size of BB often made opponents fall down if they take a charge. Digging at the ground before going in with a flaming Raging Bull, the Scyther changed stances. And energy surged around her. Uh oh. Another one with a Z-move. And this one...actually scared the blonde a bit, since it utilized her scythes. He just prayed that BB's horns and timing was good enough to take the hit, then continue to finish the match. This was going to hurt either way.

What approached him was not what he expected. First was the choice of Pokemon...a Pidove. A little guy, sure, but not a cute one or particularly nimble. From what he knew anyways. The man himself was Lilycove's gym leader. Well, hopefully Raju can give a better showing than the one that employed him. Returning the thumbs up, he waited for the match to begin. When it did, Raju started off with a Flame Charge, the bull moving surprisingly fast while being engulfed in flames to run over the birb. Problem with birbs of any size was flying out his way. Like little cowards. He didn't like most birb Pokemon. Hopefully BB can end this pretty quickly...

The cute little guy didn't stay cute. Or little. It soon became as large as a building. Raju's eyes bulged out at the size of it. Was...was this Dynamax?! Big Bert didn't flinch...but he did bounce off kind of hilarously. Then get hit by a Shadow Claw. Well, he got clipped, but it was enough to hurt a lot. Shaking it off, the big guy aimed at a leg with his next charge. Hopefully he'll get a flinch with a Zen Headbutt. Psychic energy swirled around his head as he tried to trip up the bigger Pokemon. What the heck man...guess he should have expected some trick, but this was insane to him.

The sudden turn and jump seemed to have taken the bug by surprise. Theyve had to improvise against a decent number of flying types in this tournament, and thankfully most of them were physical attackers, making the manuever necessary. Big Bert had buffeted the Scyther away, bouncing a few times before landing back on his feet. Turning around in a trot, the big guy started to charge again, his entire body engulfing in flames, using Flame Charge. Kama put her blades together, and sent some wave attack towards them. Vacuum Wave? While it may not hurt that much, it was a fast attack that Big Bert was not going to dodge very easily. But he was also known for just charging through attacks too.

The attacks seemed evenly matched, at first. But the metal bird's managed to break through and sent the big guy to the ground. While he didn't fall, he did slide a ways back, with a clear view of some black hair on his forehead missing. Seriously? First poison made his hair fall out, now it's getting plucked?! BB snarled a moo, and ran forward at full speed. Once again, his horns glowed red with Raging Bull. Raju hated using the same attack over and over again, but against a Brave Bird, he felt like he didn't have much of a choice. And he really couldn't fault his opponent either...they two Pokemon had super effective attacks for each other...it would be dumb if they didn't use them. Still, Raju was worried at the renewed anger that BB was showing...he hoped that his bull didn't go on a full rager...that would be annoying to deal with.

While Doug was jovial, his Scyther was not. Merely a nod and getting ready. BB snorted and also got to his side of the field. Raju nodded, and the two trainers soon joined their Pokemon. Then the fight began. With only a nod as pretext, the Scyther launched towards them. The Tauros ran to meet it, horns glowing red with a flaming Raging Bull, hoping an early super effective hit will hamper the bug's ability to do damage to them. Scyther were no joke, same with their evolutions. Even when the green menace jumped over him, BB stopped, turned and jumped to meet the attack. That was an Acrobatics attack, right? Oh this may hurt one or both of them...

The Pikachu unleashed a Discharge just before BB could smack him. And with how tired he was getting...the match was done. What a way to bet baited. With one hand clenched, he returned his beast after the call. Ollie was a good sport. But at least be a little honest. "It was a bad showing and we both knew it. It'll be a lot closer next time. Thanks for the match." Still, Raju took the hand. It wouldn't be good to deny it. That would just be a jerk think to do...and unsportsmanlike. If nothing else, the blonde was a good sport about it.

The blond's next opponent evidently haven't seen a Paldean Tauros before. Not too surprising he supposed. "He's a Paldean Blaze Breed Tauros. There's three different kinds in Paldea, with the Blaze and Aqua breeds being harder to find." Was that a shiny Braviary? Such a cool looking bird. Not to mention a good find. And it looked ready for a fight. Having a type disadvantage stunk, but could be overcome. When the announcer said battle begin, the bull charged the flying creature. Instead of a fire move, like what they've done in the previous few, psychic energy swirled around the front of BB, focusing on his head for a Zen Headbutt, jumping to meet the bird.
