VCT: Raju vs Gwyar

The guy was receptive. Good. Now for the fun to begin. With a flap of its wings, the metal birb took the skies. Only to then dive back down to Big Bert. The bull's horns turned blazing red, the air turning wavey due the amount of heat they were giving off. Getting ready to jump, the Tauros waited patiently for the dive bombing bird to get close. Once it did, then the black Pokemon jumping, using a flaming Raging Bull up towards the knightly Pokemon. It was about this time Raju noticed that the Corviknight was a shiny. Huh...that was interesting. Raju waited with baited breath at how the first exchange was going to turn out.

Raju had been waiting at a picnic table, just enjoying the sound of thunder up above, and sipping on a milkshake. His opponent was friendly enough, and the blonde gave the guy a nod. After a brief introduction, Raju whistled. From the shadows of a nearby tree, a large Paldean Blaze Breed Tauros with a red bull ring in his nostrils came to join them. "I'm Raju, and this is Big Bert." The bull snorted at the duo. Raju didn't say anything, but nodded semi-enthusiastically at the next comment. It had been rather fun. Once the nearby field was clear, the blonde got up and took up a position. Big Bert also did the same, and watch the Scyther intently.

Raju was next, and stepped up. Some old dude huh...but one that had...a vastly different feel to him. A noble sort, but also not one to make enemies of. Not that he ever intended to. The short man gave his older opponent a polite bow. Then he threw a pokeball, releasing a large Paldean Blaze Breed Tauros. "Me and Big Bert are ready whenever you are, sir." A Corviknight...that was both bad and good. Steel type was weak to his fire type, but its flying type was strong against the fighting...this could be a very interesting match.

It surprised Raju to find an elite four member on the field. Well, in the tournament. It was sort of intimidating. Especially since Matias had a bit of a reputation. Still, he was going to try his best, like always. Otherwise there'd be no point. The five foot six blonde stepped up to the plate, throwing the pokeball to reveal his large Blaze Breed Tauros. "Raju Mystic. And this is my Blaze Breed Paldean Tauros, Big Bert. Ready whenever you are." Was he a tad nervious? Yes. Was he also maybe a little excited? Naturally. It probably wasn't often that he'd get to face off against an Elite Four member. So might as well take advantage of it while he can.

The five foot six blonde stepped up to another battlefield. The skies still stormy and thundering, but no rain. All very atmospheric for hopefully a good battle. If nothing else, for a hopeful win. He hadn't been doing well these last few rounds. Throwing a pokeball, he released his Paldean Blaze Breed Tauros. Rearing up and stomping down hard enough to crush anything underneath. "I'm Raju, and this is Big Bert." A man of few words, he was ready for whatever was next. And they were hungry for a win. And they weren't going to make this easy for this one. Hopefully...he really didn't have a good showing the last few rounds...

Raju stepped out of the Pokemon Center and headed back to the battlefield. He hadn't had any good luck the last few rounds. Or just been plain outdid. Whatever the case, hopefully this next match would go a lot better. Nothing else, a lot better showing. By the time he got there, the next fight had just gotten done, and he was up next. Throwing out a pokeball, he released his gigantic Blaze Breed Tauros with a bull ring in his nostrils. "Raju Mystic. And this is Big Bert." The bull snarled a bit, hungry for a win more than usual after a string of losses. He was really wanting to wreck something. And Raju didn't blame him. It's Been very frustrating to say the least.

The Pikachu burst out of the way with a Trailblaze. Not bad. Definitely similar to how he and BB train. But it won't be enough. Slowing down and circling around, the bull burst into a larger plume of flames and charged with another Flame Charge, hoping to negate the speed boost that was Trailblaze. That could make turning more difficult for a follow up, but hopefully the harder hit would hurt more. Raju could tell that Tauros was getting tired though. Chasing the little guy around was taking a bigger toll than some of the other little guys were. Probably the difference between this guy and Raju's other opponents that used little guys. This Pikachu was stronger...or more nimble.

Walking up to his one of employers, Raju held out a hand for a handshake. As Josh took it, he complimented Raju. Didn't feel all that good really. Been off his game after the first few good matches. Nodding, he did look at the Zeraora. He had to get himself one of those. Raju was a quiet lad, and just headed off to get Big Bert checked out for the next match. Hopefully the next one was going to be at least a better showing. This one may not be as bad as some of his other losses, but it was still bad enough to make him a little embarrassed. Hoenn may have just better trainers overall...hence his bad luck...or perhaps just getting out played.

The Mightyena dodged the Zen Headbutt, and ended up on top of him. Then it used Sucker Punch, sending Big Bert to the ground. And then he didn't move, just having the knock out eyes on. After the announcement, he returned the big bull. Well, that was disappointing. But just means he needed to get stronger. Walking up to her, he held out his hand for a handshake. If nothing else, he was going to be a good sportsman. As much of a disappointing showing that he had. Maybe the next match they'd be better on their game. But all there was to do was to move on to the next one.

The lightning fighter was nimble, able to avoid the attack and smack the Tauros's head into the ground, almost digging it in. Pulling his head out of the dirt and shaking it to get the dirt off his face, he spun around angrily. Then came something he's only heard about. Z-moves. In a flash of lightning, Big Bert was thrown out of the ring, electricity circulating around him. And very clearly knocked out. Well, so much for that. Still, knowledge was power. And maybe some need to increase it, just to see if there was any counters to Z-moves. Only thing he could think of right off hand was another Z-move. With a heavy sigh, he just walked to his big boy and patted him on the side, as if to say that he did good. And he did. Just like in their test fight. Maybe next time it will be different.

Big Bert managed to send it away, thankfully. This wasn't going well. The canine was focused though, already prepared to continue pressing the attack. The bull righted himself and faced it down. "Zen Headbutt! Try to turn this around!" Big Bert charged again, psychic energy swirling around his head to deliver a super effective hit against the snapping jaws. Normally the attack wouldn't effect the dog, but with the change in type came new weaknesses...and strengths. Terastalizing had its benefits, but if the opponent Pokemon had the coverage...well, it really doesn't matter. Aside from the hard hitting Poison Fangs that was just done...was it just him or did BB look a little ill? Was he poisoned?!

The charge wasn't a solid hit, and Big Bert had to slam on the brakes while trying to turn in the process. Only for his tails to be chomped on. What the hell? Well, Raju supposed that was one way to do some damage. BB started to buck and pull the dog around. It just may get smacked in the face with a Close Combat at the rate they were going. Even if it would start with his hind legs instead of a series of small horn bucks. It would be quite humorious if it was anyone else. Instead, Raju was one part irritated and one part annoyed. The tail? Hopefully they could turn the damn thing around or force it to actually face them...full frontal assaults was BB's specialty after all...

It worked! The bounced Electro Balls smacked the electric pokemon, making him squeal. The Zeroara moved to the corner. Oh? The bull moved closer cautiously before attempting a Close Combat. Only to miss, and the creature bounced high into the sky. Good move. Turning around, Big Bert's horns glowed red and instead tried to use Raging Bull. Well, trying to time it right to strike at the Zeroara at the same time as the opponent. That was going to be tricky. The bull had to reposition himself to be at his previous location, to better strike at the lightning fast Pokemon. They just had to hope that the timing would be correct. Raju's eyes narrowed as he searched his memory. He soon remembered that Bounce was a flying type move, oddly. Which means that if it hit, it would hurt...a lot.

Side Events: Shalin vs. Raju [VCT]

Something fishy was going on there. They both hit, from his angle, but the judges determined him the winner. It was very wierd to him. But whatever. She chirped over to him as he returned his Pokemon. Buck her off? "Good luck. Josh Devlin called dibs anyways. But it'll have to wait till tomorrow." And give BB time to recover. Either way, he'd offer her a handshake for the good match. It was an intense battle...Raju almost felt drained afterward. Like he had just beaten down three to four people. Which he had done before. Either way, it was time to go to the Pokemon Center first. Then off to the next round!
