In the meantime I wouldn’t mind sharing this ‘power spot’ thing with Lilycove lam logan, because we have to understand how this works first and foremost and if it’ll have long-term effects on any Pokémon that actively use (and indubitably abuse) these ‘power spots’, because what if there are detrimental effects to too much exposure to something we don’t fully understand?[break][break]

To answer your question FERNANDO SILPH, Mega Evolution is the one that’s frequently used—pretty sure you saw what went down at the race earlier in the year. It wasn’t easy hanging onto that Mega Salamence, you know, but then again most everyone knows what Mega Evolution is, and can use it safely without harmful side-effects…[break][break]

Z-moves, I know the concept of, but have yet to actively use one myself. Tera—that new one, I have to look into it.[break][break]

When it comes to Mega Evolution, well, the deeper a human’s bond with their Pokémon, the stronger it gets… but that’s not to say it has its own backlash effects as well if kept up for too long. I’ve witnessed this happening myself.[break][break]

See Navy that’s what I’m concerned about. I still have the lore from… from that time in the pocket dimension(?) Hammerlocke, and I have it on good information who were also there in ‘that’ Hammerlocke that this… this ‘dynamaxing’ thing is going to be bad juju in the long run.[break][break]

See Hideo Kino gets me, put the rift to Ultra Space and whatever these ‘power spots’ are capable of plus the chance of either that little tiny murder paper or that huge spaceship-like beast emerging from the rift over here, and we’re going to have a legitimate kaiju situation on our hands.

“To be honest, I actually found Terra’s… preserved fossil in a dig very similar to this several years ago,” he admitted quietly.

The attack on the Galarian Embassy he was familiar with, at least (because who knew what a small world it was; Remy knew Tom, and he was also long-time friends with the former Elite Four member).

(And he was also privy to the dark shit the other did, but not as much as his other friend who knew way too much about what Thomas Benoit had done in the shadows.)

“I thought there was something called conflict of interest when it came to royalty things like that?” he hummed as he finally took a bite from the cold breadstick he was holding. Still tasted good, either way.

And then…

And then, the world receded.

It felt like he was up in space; everything literally shrank down to a pinhole in his tunnel of vision; everything suddenly became too loud and too crowded around him before a belated realization set in as he blinked a few times.

“That… that would explain a few things, then,” he said at last.

But then—there was something else that was bothering him. About how a certain common friend that they had, too…

“Tell me,” he continued once he’d managed to find his voice again.

“Was Miss Isra Nightingale part of Team Rocket, too?”

The—the what?[break][break]

One thing from me: Fortree already has a rift to another reality to contend with; it’s right in the middle of smack downtown if any of you haven’t come by to see where it exactly is. Too conspicuous a spot to readily ignore.[break][break]

Putting that together with… a ‘power spot’, if that’s what it’s called, would… for one thing. I run a Sanctuary alongside my Gym, so wouldn’t the presence of so much unknown energy cause general upset to the wildlife that come through here on their yearly migration routes?[break][break]

(Also, if this ‘power spot’ gets in contact with whatever nasties lurk in Ultra Space should they decide to come out of the rift in downtown Fortree and cause havoc, wouldn’t that… wouldn’t that literally spell a kaiju situation on our hands? Just me thinking out loud here)[break][break]

I’m speaking as a conservationist here, I know how finicky these birds can get—lam logan, you’re as much of a bird enjoyer as I am, you know how capricious they can be when their routines and habitats are disturbed.[break][break]

Plus fact of the matter is that I got word of what happened close by out at route 119 pretty recently with the strange-looking Ursaring-like Pokémon, wouldn’t it be asking for a lot more trouble than we can already handle out here?[break][break]

P.S. I’m fine with Fortree and Lilycove sharing a spot, but one right at the backyard where the Sanctuary is? Please think of the environmental consequences that the disruption of energies would cause! (also the potential kaiju situation if the rift to Ultra Space reacts adversely or sth to the ‘power spot’)[break][break]

Plus we have no idea how adversely it would affect Pokémon that come too close for their own good…[break][break]

Kyouya, of course, was proud to see the little Rufflet waddling around—geez, that really took him back to when he was like, a Rufflet himself.

Plucking one of his stray blue feathers from the underside of a wing, he then handed it over to the Rufflet to take. It was definitely a kinship thing, all things considered.

“Well, since my partner is kind of busy right now with Ranger work back at Fortree, and I wouldn’t want to disturb him, I decided to take today’s run myself, all things considered…”

He was about to take a bite out of a macaron when he realized he was staring at a…

“What is that.”

(He meant the Frigibax, of course. Not that he knew what it was called. But it looked absolutely derpy!)

“You can understand why your cousin isn’t here, right,” he continued her way—what a mess…

Hopefully the Frog was still awake as he quickly fished out his phone and then sent a couple of messages asking him to get a hot water bath as well as some food ready because he was on his way back, but he wasn’t alone this time—and then dialed the number he meant to call as well.

“Hey, Frog,” he whispered quietly once the call went to voice mail, “…if you’re still awake, I’m coming back, and I have a guest. I hope you don’t mind… kinda went to save someone from you know. Their hands.”

He then rattled off the same request in the message he’d sent earlier, before clicking his phone off and then giving her another once-over.

“They didn’t torture you or anything, did they?” he asked her, his brows knitted together out of concern as he stepped aside to let her out.

Oh, it was that time of the year again?

The time when fossils suddenly started spawning within the region’s buried earth… the last time he’d gone out on a dig like this he found… well, a certain Fossil Pokémon who now wanted nothing more than to always knock the wind out of him whenever he was out and about.

Yikes.

So today, he would be slightly away from the city, having found some free time to join one of the nearby digs—he was wondering if he was going to run into Remiel Calcifet out here, because he knew the other loved digging through the dirt for things like this…

What he was not expecting, however, was to find another familiar face at the nearby digsite.

“Imagine my surprise seeing you out here, Miss Elise,” he greeted her with a grin on his face.

“You… you gotta warn me when you do that!” he exclaimed as he literally grabbed his partner and clung on as the violently trembling earth made him very nearly lose his footing as a very large piece of earth came collapsing; landing on the crack where the mist was still spinning out of it.

While his Pidgeot was still on ‘mist diversion duty’ in the form of yet another microburst of Hurricane-force winds, he realized… he had an idea.

Swapping out his Pidgeot for his temperamental Gyarados, the serpentine Pokémon roared upon entry, before fixing her beady little eyes at the fallen slab of earth.

“Freeze it!” he exclaimed; before she opened fire with several thick layers of Ice Beam coating the ground…

Well, while it was a temporary ‘fix’, it was the best he could think of.

“Let’s get the fuck outta here while we can.”

He didn’t realize that he had grown a tail similar to what an Aerodactyl’s tail was like, while they were running through the ‘dungeon’, dealing with roadside plants suddenly mutating and going on a rampage; lamp posts suddenly coming to life and trying to bat the daylights out of them with their stiff, metal ‘arms’…

What the fuck was up with this place?!

“Never mind that, let’s go!” he yelled as his companion wanted to take a detour somewhere; it looked like an alleyway that may have had an optional ‘super boss’ to handle…

“No, Frog! Let’s g-go! We’re almost at the end of this entire place!” he continued as he had to forcibly pull—drag—no, yank the other towards… the only place he knew where this would all end—

The family home.

“Oh, you have got to be fucking kidding me.”

Taking a deep breath, he braced himself—just as his berserk Aerodactyl ran on ahead and literally broke the door off its hinges.

“Terra, you could like, wait for us, you know?!” he yelled as he quickly took out the feather on a stick (the Poké Toy) and chucked it at the mooks that were accompanying…

“Oh, fucking hell!”

For what awaited them at the very end—right in the living room, of all places—

Was a Tornadus. Not quite similar to the one he had with him; but still—

A powerful Bleakwind Storm then shook the area, making his companion shiver; but he stood his ground.

“Terra! Go!”

He didn’t even need to instruct his Aerodactyl to charge forward as Terra had flown forward of his own volition; never mind if the weather was biting cold—before slamming straight into the ‘Tornadus’ with a new move he had never seen before—

“What was that?!” he exclaimed, quickly pulling out the incredibly bright ‘sand’ (the Bright Powder) and then flinging it at the line of sight of the ‘legendary’ Pokémon that they knew was…

Why, of all things, did it have to be Tornadus himself!?

(Well, it was marginally better than either one of his parents being the avatar of the djinni…)

The roaring, screeching, screaming noise from the Aerodactyl signified that the two were locked in battle; and after several minutes of trading blows, the Aerodactyl emerged from the bright cloud…

“Don’t tell me you—” he trailed off as he blinked and the ‘brightness’ faded away…

…which left him with the ball of red string.

Was this supposed to mean something?!

“Miss E—Hecate?! Where are you?!” he called out once the ‘Mistralton’ dungeon had disappeared and he was pretty sure he was back where everything had all started.

The Salamence squinted at the chicken of a human in front of him, before huffing and then letting a controlled blast of flame slip from his maw.

While not enough to set this idiot on fire, it was certainly more than enough to put them on edge while he swiped the key and snarled at the poor mook who just had to run afoul of him.

“Stay there, and keep an eye on this idiot,” he snarled; the Salamence nodded and continued to snap, attempting to bite off fingers should they come too close while he shuffled through the ring of keys and finally found the one he was looking for.

“Fucking stupid piece of metal,” he continued as he thought the key broke; before realizing that he was jamming it in too hard. Eventually, the lock would click, and swing open…

“There you are,” he breathed out, quickly swapping from the unknown to the familiar tone of voice she was familiar with.

“You look… a mess,” he continued quietly as he then rummaged to find the other key to open the door of her cell and get her out.

There was an angry sounding roar from outside; the Salamence was definitely up to something!
