Pinky was thrilled to see the efforts of her swing taking full form. She squealed in elation and showed her little weapon towards the sky in a heroic display.

"G-Good job, Pinky!" Lucia cheered her pokemon on.

The Beedrill approached once more before shooting a TWINEEDLE at the Tinkatink. Pinky tried to counter this with by holding her small mace out towards the insect as a sudden burst of energy with FLASH CANNON.

"We're almost there, Hero! Keep going!"

The Dunsparce grunted in pain while it had been successful in attacking in its wounded state. He was still putting up a fight despite the fight going on long. The Froakie looked to be in the same state, while it would launch one final HYDRO PUMP. Dunsparce would give it his all and launch one final ANCIENT POWER at his enemy.

The Froakie's sudden wrapping had trapped Hero bad. The DUnsparce was helpess while he was smashed back into the ground while Lucia was powerless to watch.

"Hero!" she ran half way into the battlefield while a plume of smoke covered everything. But what caused her to freeze was the sound of what sounded like a power drill. Through the thick dust, the Dunsparce had charged at the Froakie with a surprise HYPER DRILL!

"What was it like?" Lucia asked plainly. It only dawned on her about how vague the question was after she had asked. "Like coming to Hoenn?"

Hero's attack had gave it a little burst of courage, as the Dunsparce landed back on its belly and swiveled around to face the Scyther again. It bounced back as Kama disappeared into a blur. He readied himself and looked around his surroundings for her before she revealed herself with her CLOSE COMBAT. Hero then moved forward to counter with a DRAGON RUSH!

Lucia's eyes went to the Scyther in interest at the mention of her age. She didn't seem as old as Doug would say. But then again, she wasn't exactly too knowledgeable of pokemon biology to really recognize this.

"She is?" Lucia asked. Her volume was slowly rising as she was slowly becoming a bit more comfortable with speaking. "Y-You look nice, uh, Kama..."

Hero puffed himself up, surrounding himself with a white energy as he sent orbs of power towards the Scyther, using ANCIENT POWER.

The Scyther's attacks landed on the Dunsparce by a wide margin. Hero was pushed back some and grunted as he fell onto her back for a moment. He squirmed around for a moment before slithering back to the fight.

Lucia looked worried for him in the fight. She squirmed in place and winced as he went back all the way into battle. His tail grew larger and spun around as he prepared to use DRILL RUN to fight against the Scyther.

"Thanks..." Lucia nodded again, "He's the first Pokemon I ever caught when I was back home. He's protected me from a lot."

Lucia continued being the bundles of nervous while each took their spot. The Dunsparce rattling threateningly at the Scyther as it approached. He surged forth to meet the Scyther head first with a fearsome DOUBLE-EDGE.

"Umm..." Lucia said, trying not to be entirely mute. "I, um, like your Scyther..."

The Dunsparce had been fully hit by the SMACK DOWN, sending it bouncing back a little while rattling to signal that it was ready and willing to fight! The Froakie continued to come at the pokemon and charged forward to DRAGON RUSH the Froakie.

"It makes sense, being important and all..." Lucia said, frowning at Cian for a moment before her eyes went back to her Dunsparce. "Be careful, Hero!"

Lucia shook her head at Cian's question. She had only just arrived in the region and knew of the important people that one should know. She had to wonder what he was like.

"Uh, n-not really...I just got to Hoenn." she admitted with a frown. "Do you know him? Is he nice?"

Dunsparce watched as the Froakie approached with an attack on their own. Hero readied himself as his tail stinger would glow with the same white energy. It increased by several sizes and let out an audible "whirr" as he charged forward to meet Froakie's incoming attack.

Lucia's eyes were filled with terror as the woman's coat had been ruined by the matcha ice cream she was eating before Hero had taken off.

The Mismagius turned to her while the child took a step back as Elise turned around and addressed her. Even without the anger present, she looked horrified at what she had done to the expensive coat. She didn't say anything but looked ready to cry at what had happened.

But then she felt that familiar weight on her body.

The cone dropped on the floor with a thud while Lucia flinched at the contact made against her shoulder with a sharp inhale. Shockwaves pierced through her form.

Her body seemed to move on its own before her brain could think of what to do.

"N-NO!"

Lucia yanked her arm away from Elise hard enough to slip out, but lose her balance and fell onto her back on the ground. She scrambled back while breathing heavy at what would await her.

"Sorry...I'm s-sorry..."

Out from under the cart rose Hero the Dunsparce. It had slithered in front of his trainer, rattling at both the Mismagius and Elise while trying to appear more threatening than it was.

Lucia quietly walked into the arena as timid as a first time trainer could be. Her opponent was more experienced and stronger than she was. It was honestly kind of intimidating...

As he offered her a hand, Lucia slowly extended her own to meet his and shake it up and down. No words came out as her expression softened into one of pure shock. Somebody clueless as to how they even got there. She nodded at his question and let out a soft, "Mhm..."

Hero looked up from behind Lucia, peeking up at the Scyther with a rattle as his trainer picked him up for comfort. She shuffled her shoulders around, the backpack behind her jittering around while walking to the other end of the court.

"I hope you have fun." she said in a whisper-like tone before her Dunsparce moved to the court and prepared himself for battle. He let out as brave a cry as one could before slithering around.

As the Dunsparce fell to its attacks, the referees called the match in Josh's favor. Lucia groaned for a moment before freezing up in the spot as the Banette phased back into her bag.

Lucia's eyes returned to their normal blue color before blinking and looking confused at the environment around her. "O-Oh. Did we lose?" she asked her self, though running quickly to pick up Hero with both hands. Josh approached in a handshake as Lucia extended her own to shake.

"Um, maybe..." she said with a defeated expression. "I was thinking about just leaving to be honest...Everyone here's kind of stronger than me. I shouldn't have signed up for this in the first place..."

"Why can't I have these embarrassing moments with regular people? It's always the important ones..."

Lucia thought to herself. She felt happy to find another person who shared her dream, but wasn't he already there?

"I thought gym leaders were already Pokémon Masters..."

Her Dunsparce countered the sudden Hydro Pump with an ANCIENT POWER of his own, launching a mysterious energy at the Froakie.
