Lucia had been staying in her little hidey hole that wasn't entirely trashy. For one, she had found an abandoned mattress down here that was clean enough and made a fancy little resting place. And the nearby vendors seemed to give her a cut if she did little odd jobs for them.

But it always felt strange to live like this while the other kids went home with other people. She frequently would sit in the park and sometimes play with other kids until they all split up to go their separate ways. The way they hugged their parents and such had given her a brief surge of homesickness that was ultimately pushed down.

Today, Lucia was taking a walk around the park after spending some time training with her team against some of the wild pokemon nearby, with the occasional trainer. But she came across a forlorn looking kid on the swingset looking lonely. She normally would have let them be and keep to herself.

But the way the kid was just looking down. And that expression made an impact on her.

"Hi." Lucia walked over quietly and gave Sam a timid wave. She was dressed in the Blueberry Academy uniform with an oversized coat that barely fit, reaching down to her ankles. "Can I swing by you?"

If given permission, Lucia slowly sat next to Sam and would try her best to have a conversation. Ask his name, what he likes, the small stuff.

Lucia shook hands with Shalin with an awkward but hopeful smile. The kind that was a glaring red flag to show how utterly naive she was to the current trainer climate. It did feel nice that somebody could show her the way along this little battlefield, even if all the stakes had been taken away. Maybe it could be a learning experience then!

The Tinkatink flailed wildly in joy at the oncoming battle in front of it. While not as fearsome as her fully evolved state, she was happy to allow her skills in smashing to come into play!

The starting horn blew and both pokemon were off. In no time at all, the Tinkatink was taking off to confront the Beedrill directly. It let out a shrill cry and watched while it lowered its stinger to aim at her. She dialed her weapon before and then let loose a BRUTAL SWING to try and catch it as it drew closer.

With the grand tournament busy in full force, Lucia was among the youths wandering in the city streets of Lilycove. The confetti shot off from above to announce the most recent winners as Lucia looked up and frowned.

Another day, another battle. Lucia stood in front of Shalin, the younger trainer peering up at the older ranger. "U-Um, hi." she gave a weak but honest wave at the other woman. Her meek nature had almost caused her to fumble the pokeball in her hands as the girl did her best to seem confident.

A Tinkatink was called out onto Lucia's side of the field. Pinky swung her small weapon around and let out a cheerful cry at her opponent. Despite the difference in abilities between the two, the Tinkatink was raring to get the fight started.

"Ah-I'm Lucia. Wait, you already know that..." she murmured to herself and started to worry to herself about the results of the battle. "If you want to split it, we can...I'm kind of just here for practice anyway..."

"Okay, you can do this. Just go up and ask to sign."

Oh, how the newbie wanted to join in the festivities and battle! But what would happen to her party if they got seriously hurt here? Everybody else was going to be leagues above where she was! She'd lose terribly.

"B-But I'll lose a whole bunch and just embarrass myself!"

But Lucia wanted nothing more than to at least try despite her hesitation! She gently fiddled with the oversized jacket she wore on top of her Blueberry Academy Uniform with frustration.

"I bet you'd be able to be champion in no time...I'm just some dropout."

The meek trainer sat in the main street and watched as people went by in their groups and such while looking over to the registration tent.

The line was still there as she looked down at Hero, her Dunsparce in thought. The poor little guy rumbled something to himself and watched as his owner busied herself taking care of a matcha flavored ice cream cone.

Some droplets fell to the floor which he picked up, up until a passing trainer's Salamance looked over at him. The already trembling Dunsparce shook in place. The dragon-type sensed this weakness and shot a mean look at the smaller pokemon, sending it racing away.

"Huh?" Lucia watched as the Dunsparce slithered into the crowd and chased after him. "H-Hero, wait up!"

The fleeing Dunsparce rocketed across the fair grounds as she tried to get him under control. His frantic slithering made chasing him rather difficult. He swerved to hide under a nearby counter while watching the feet go by.

"Hero!? Heroooo!"

Lucia pushed past people in the crowd while holding her ice cream until a stray pokemon tail caused her to trip. She fumbled her ice cream and tried to catch it before...

"!!!"

In her flurry of trying to not spill it, she had smeared it across somebody's expensive looking clothing. Matcha ice cream stained the frabic while the younger trainer watched with horrified eyes at the mess she had made. Frozen in fear, her visage rose to meet the other person's...

Lucia stood at the entrance to a ranch near the midsection of Route 104 that had asked any nearby trainers for assistance in protecting their livestock. She wasn't too aware of what pokemon may be lurking in the shadows trying to capture them, but she was going to make sure none of them got away.

The young trainer quietly awaited the arrival of her partner, as the mission listing had said that an additional person had come to lend a helping hand in keeping an eye on the Wooloo. They had quite some time before the sun would set and Lucia found herself entertained by others matters on her phone.

Checking HNN articles for news, scrolling through social media or putting on an album by Desiree and just allowing herself to phase out of reality for a bit as she waited on the porch of the property. The Wooloo in question went about their busy day of grazing and rolling around the fields for Lucia to see.

Eventually, it had reached the evening time. The sun hung low in the sky and everyone was making final preparations for the Wooloo to spend the night in the field. Lucia was happy to wait however long it took. She helped feed some of the sheep pokemon and looked up at the dirt path near the entrance of the ranch every so often.
