the nature of grunt work requires him to always be available, so acclimating has proven difficult with how erratic his schedule has been. he could be needed in rustboro one day only to be moved to sootopolis the next. hoenn's transportation infrastructure is impressive, to say the least.[break][break]

after turning a corner, they slow, their pace now more comfortable than urgent as they walk through what appears to be bodies laid out on the ground, each overrun by black crystals. though familiar with death, the sight is still enough to make his heart sink.[break][break]

they are walking corpses, void of life but not sentience; the realization comes as dane walks by the one pinned to the wall only to feel their graze on his shoulder; he pries away quickly, turning his back as gurgling stops.[break][break]

if there are more as sylvie faust suggests, then it would make sense for them to be quiet, which he makes a gesture to imply as much.[break][break]

together, they continue their search through the hospital, finding nothing of particular interest but altogether, the scene tells a story.[break][break]
