Dancing to the Tune of Battle!

They had no clue what Happy was capable of. Unlike most, Happy didn't evolve by choice and circumstance-- but no matter what their form, if trained properly they were a force to recon with. Zachary suspected Arron knew that, but the audience-- where they in for a surprise. As they took their marks, and Happy jiggled to the music, the referee signaled them to begin. [break][break] Arron began an aggressive attack-- having the Aegislash come at them fast and hard. Iron Head was trouble if it made a direct hit-- but Zachary and Happy knew better. Happy was not your typical offensive Pokemon. Both him and Zachary trained him to be far more versatile than Arron could anticipate. As the incoming attack came, Happy gave a 'happy cheer'. "Happy- REFLECT!!" Zachary shouted. [break][break] Right as Aegislash started his charge, Happy gave a twirl to the music-- and erected its arms forward towards the sword. A flash of light went off-- followed by a glass-like sheen of energy! A powerful wall appeared on Happy's side of the battlefield and the crazy Magic Room as it was on its last legs. Happy didn't even flinch as the wall took the assault, the defense of it being incredible. Happy continued to bob and dance to the music from behind his magical wall. Even if the wall bent, it wouldn't break easy.[break][break] Happy was originally skilled at defensive tactics and odd strategy-- to which Zachary was clever with as well. And now, it was time for the 'coup de grâce'. [break][break] "Do it, Happy! ENCORE!" Zachary shouted, seizing the moment. [break][break] From behind the wall, Happy gave more dancing moves and spins to the music. As the beat intensified, Happy raised glowing little hands and clapped aloud, the sound and motion 'motivating' or perhaps more like... egging Aegislash more. [break][break] It didn't look like much, being a simple move that made the opponent act in a certain way-- but that would synch it. He smirked, knowing that with Reflect and Encore, he could predict what would happen. [break][break]

While the information about how the Legendary Pokemon behaved next to its counterpart-- Zachary heard Elise regarding their attackers. A shadowy organization with a grudge against avatars? Who they were and what they still were, still a mystery. "I only thought the active criminal group out there was Rocket. So you're saying there may be other teams lurking around Area Zero? " Zachary asked, looking around cautiously. [break][break] "Well, I guess its all the same but that is alarming to know that they are here and that dangerous. I didn't even think trainers could get Unown to do that kind of stuff. But how do Avatars fit in? " he asked, but perhaps they should take that to another place. [break][break] While Zachary got some useful data-- it was time they got back before they get ambushed again. "Let's get back before more chaos happens. Kirlia, if you would?" [break][break] As they gathered around Kirlia, he made a small cry and with it-- light enveloped them all, teleporting them back to camp. [break][break] The light faded and they soon found themselves right outside the complex of the tent, safe and sound. THough the sky was the same with the rocks and crystals, they felt safe enough there. "It's times like these I love being a Psychic pokemon trainer," he said confidently as he looked to Kirlia. "Thank you, buddy!" . The kirlia gave a tired sigh, as teleporting multiple people was difficult but he was grateful and happy too all the same. [break][break]

"Wiser Words Never Said" [S-Z]

The two Pokemon, Oranguru and Slowking (Calypso) glared at each other with clear dislike and challenge. The tension was thick in the air as one could see the 'mental sparks' go off between them as they faced each other. How it escalated that fast with few words went way over Zachary's head, even for the rumored rivalry they had. They got closer, snarls and grunts exchanged between the two. Even the other Pokemon, including Tarot looked on to wonder what would happen next. [break][break] Zachary had to worry what dangerous events would follow for the two pokemon's new rivalry... [break][break]...[break][break] Before anyone knew it, both Pokemon sat at a nearby rock-- with a board game with multiple black and white flip tiles. They were now silent and now playing the game intently in what appeared to be in seconds. "Are they playing Othello? " Zachary asked, baffled. [break][break] The two played the game, slowly but surely flipping tiles and pices with the aid of psychic power as they 'battled' one another in a game of wits. [break][break] A bombidier passed over with a 'caw' that broke the stunned silence, dropping a piece of fruit that landed on Zachary's head-- adding to the dumbfounded situation. [break][break] Any tension was gone for now- as the two engaged in their boardgame. Where they got it from, Zachary had no clue...[break][break]

A small bit of confidence swelled in Zachary's chest, but soon he returned back to his more humble nature as he turned to have Elise give him a firm but kind warning not to go off on his own on this. He answered with silence, then bowed his head, a clear look of shame on his face. "You're right. I'm sorry Elise..." Zachary replied, knowing he errored. Dizzy gave an agreed nod. Anubis soon sat on his haunches besides Zachary and gave a noble bow. If not to Elise-- the Eclipse Pokemon clearly showed his respect to the King Pokemon of all things, like a loyal knight. [break][break] She explained briefly about avatars, but still didn't understand what an Avatar was. "Well, its still a great privlage to have the company of a legendary pokemon of any type? I'd love to have the company of one someday if one found me worthy. You're very lucky Elise," Zachary said with a smile as he gave a friendly wave to the Crown Pokemon, remembering him from the stories around the tree. [break][break] As he knelt next to the psychic Pokemon, he wondered how much he was to the original. "I wouldn't imagine it was a copy or anything lesser than what it is. Sure there are many pokemon of many species. I wouldn't presume there would ever be just one without some exceptions. Is it connected to the real one? Acts the same? I doubt it be a a simple 'doll' or 'puppet'. " Zachary asked, tempted to pet the strange crown as if to test it-- which may not be wise. [break][break] Back to the topic though-- Zachary was curious. "But what exactly is an Avatar then? And who were those creeps in the masks? They didn't look like Team Rocket at all." he said, confused by the men with the unown. There was a lot to explain, but perhaps they should teleport back to base for more? [break][break]

Where the wind blows...

Entering the forest trail leading into the city, Zachary soon heard the song. It was elegant and clearly speaking words. Another person nearby. He looked down the road to soon see a girl, alongside a giant Luxray of all things. The Luxray was very regal looking and doting to the girl with him. [break][break] While he was distracted by the Luxray, he soon approached and saw the girl writing. "It's a beautiful day, isn't it? I remember when i drew stuff out on days like this." Zachary said as he waved to them.[break][break] Dizzy too gave a small bark of a greeting-- but didn't know how the Luxray would respond to the psychic fox of all things. [break][break] "Hi there. I'm Zachary. Nice to meet you. Are you a resident here? " Zachary asked, hoping to learn more about this city. He also was curious about what the little girl was writing about. He too was a creative person and would crack open a journal book to write about his experiences, ideas or other creative thoughts. [break][break] His kind smile was reassuring, if welcomed. [break][break]

"You leave her alone!!" Zachary shouted. He didn't know who they were, or what an "Avatar" was-- but Zachary didn't care. They were targeting Elise and that was not going to happen. "Anubis-- Snarl!!" [break][break] The patterns on Anubis glowed brightly with his righteous anger. He soon let out a loud and eerie snarl that radiated a dark pulse of energy all around. The snarl hit the unknown too, both of them being knocked out of orbit of one another. With that done and their ranks broken-- Zachary took that opportunity. As Elise took out the last one with her Charles, Zachyry took action with the last of them. [break][break] "Let them have it, Dizzy! Mystical Fire!!" he shouted with a punch. Dizzy didn't hesitate as he drew his stick and drew a circle of fire in the air. With a flick of his stick and a howl-- a stream of fire shot out toward the masked men. The following eruptin and cries caused enough chaos among them, making them scatter. [break][break] "Retreat! Retreat!" one of them said as they ran off into the darkness. Whatever plan they had, they didn't anticipate both Zachary's arsinal as well as Elise's over powered legendary Pokemon. [break][break] As the danger passed for the moment, Anubis soon turned back to see Elise and Zachary. THe loyal dark pokemon soon sat on his haunches, patient and well-mannered as it gave a soft cry to them. Dizzy also let out a sigh of relief, the fox nervous that something bad would of happened. [break][break] Zachary turned, and remembered how things happened a few minutes ago. He wondered if she would scold him or she would explain. Probably the former, as Zachary did do something reckless and stupid. [break][break]

"The Forest for the Trees" [Wild Duo]

Of all the things that Josh choose to ride it was a Linoone ? Zachary had met the guy in Mt. Pyre, by pure chance. He was shocked to learn he wasn't just a ranger-- but also a Gym Leader of all things. It was a valuable experience to learn from him, especially since Zachary's goal was to become a Gym Leader himself someday. [break][break] Of course, Josh had a fondness for riding Pokemon. More specificaly flying and mounting ones to race. That kind of fixation was interesting but Zachary had no such Pokemon. As someone who was more comfortable with Psychic Types, he had no Pokemon whom he could ride. The closest one with his new Xatu-- but he was no taller than Zachary's hips. THe best the prophet bird could do, was lift him up by his talons as he would flap his wings. The best way Zachary had to really travel was teleporting-- but his psychic Pokemon would get tired well too often if he depended on them like that. [break][break] Sazazzel too was an odd one, and Dizzy kept a very sharp eye on that one-- not very trusting of the poison/fire hybrid. As Josh discussed the desire to use the roads for praticing his riding while on patrol, Zachary couldn't help they ran on different speeds-- in every sense of the word. "I take it 'taking things slow' isn't a metaphor to you," Zachary replied with a friendly sarcastic tone. "Why do you like riding your pokemon so much and going fast? I mean is it for the thrill of racing or something else? " he asked, trying to undestand his new friend. [break][break] Zachary was a more 'go with the flow' person, and that benefited him as a psychic trainer. He had to be patient when dealing with pokemon with such developed psyches. While he loved the idea of flying or moving fast, he had never expereinced that. [break][break] But teleporting was something else. That rush felt odd to Zachary and exciting. "What about Teleporting? How did you feel when we teleported out of Mt Pyre?" Zachary asked.

Go On a Ghost Hunt

As the teleport ended, and they found themselves in front of a Pokemon center, Zachary looked around. They were all in one peace. Tarot and Kirlia were with them and everyone was accounted for. A sigh escaped him. "Whew... I didn't think that would work," Zachary replied, "I thought fifty-fifty chance we'd be scattered all away across Hoenn..." [break][break] He looked to Josh and a wry smirk showed on Zachary's face. "I'm kidding," he corrected. [break][break]With brief goodbyes and Lilygrove of all things, Zachary wanted to be in touch with Josh, so he quickly added his contact into his Pokegear. [break][break] As the ranger-gym leader escorted the girl away, Zachary waved as he was left with Abra and Kirlia, seeing them disappear. [break][break] With everything calmed down, Zachary kenlt down to Kirlia. "Thank you so much Kirlia. You been a huge help in finding Dizzy. By the way... do you want to come with me? I'd love to have you around." he asked. The Kirlia smiled and twirled, expressing its happiness to join Zachary. [break][break]

Zachary felt like the odd one out, partly due tot he fact he was new to here. He was now part in the great expedition of the Caverns that led to Area Zero. One part of him was excited, another part worried-- and another part amazed by the other worldly potential here. But he didn't know anyone else in this place. The best company he had was his Pokemon, as his Delphox and Kirlia kept close. Dizzy was best for combat while Kirlia was a skilled healer. He was doing his part. [break][break] Still, Zachary felt lonely as he didn't know anyone else in the group. But the thrill to explore the unknown was strong in Zachary, and not in short amount due to being a psychic Pokemon trainer. Zachary regarded the dark skinned guy as perhaps the leader, or seemed to be. He had the charisma of it, but still Zachary kept silent and focused. They were on a mission to explore this place after all... Then again, Zachary was the type to take things too seriously. [break][break]

Dancing to the Tune of Battle!

While Future Sight was indeed sent off, Dizzy was soon defeated by the Night Slash move-- striking down the last of his strength to fight. Dizzy went tumbling backward, his stick knocked out of his hands. "Dizzy!" Zachary cried. With him now unable to battle, Zachary rushed in and went to his fox companion. He knelt down to check on him, seeing him wincing from the injuries. "You okay, buddy?" [break][break] "Mrrr-urk..." Dizzy grumbled but sat up thanks to Zachary's help. [break][break] "You want to go rest in your Pokeball?" he asked, but Dizzy shook his head. While out of the fight, his best friend wanted to stay by his side. Zachary gave the fox a reassuring pat, thanking him for his hard work. The battle was done, but not the war. [break][break] All the while the jeers from the audience were there, but Zachary paid it little to no mind-- his attention more focused on Dizzy. He didn't even notice it till the end, and Arron spoke up on his behalf. [break][break] Arron, Zachary presumed was a cold, tactical person at first impression. He seemed more interested in fighting, and less in the pokemon. He didn't know till that moment, the guy seemed to respect him and get mad at people who were picking on him now. Zachary was no stranger to bullies or mean people in his youth-- but it was almost reassuring as he got Dizzy behind the arena lines. [break][break] He then turned to Arron, seeing that expression but his words expressing compassion. Zachary paused a moment and then nodded to him. "Thank you, Arron," he replied. [break][break] Dizzy now sat down next to Zachary and would observe the fight from the sidelines. The fox looked up to Zachary, wondering who he would use next. The battle was paused as Zachary decided on his next Pokemon. He only had one more choice he could make and he had to make it count. Aegislash had taken on significant damage, and probably wouldn't take much more to end the battle for that one. He still had one more Pokemon left too. If he was going to win, he had to pick one who was both offensive and defensive. A wild card. [break][break] Zachary smiled, knowing just the one. His ace in the hole. [break][break] He soon took out his Pokeball-- marked by the odd symbol of "0" on the front. Based on the arcana Zachary had loved. "LIke the number zero-- you possess infinite potential! I choose The Fool!" Zachary said as he stepped up, his small incantation like a wish of luck. "Get ready, 'cause I got a surprise you won't forget! Show em what you got-- HAPPY!!" Zachary shouted and tossed his ball up into the air. [break][break]

[break][break] Light poured out and from the great flash, it gathered and took the form of Zachary's Mime Jr-- Happy. "Mi-mi-MIME!!" he cheered happily. [break][break] If Arron thought the jeers before were bad-- it became just venomous laughter now as the audience got a look at Zachary's 'supposed' wild card of a Pokemon. His confidence choice which he felt would win him the battle, was a tiny little Mime Jr who had not evolved. After a power-hitter like Delphox, Mime Jr. would be the last thing anyone would suspect. [break][break] "You kidding? What you want Aegislash to laugh to death?!" one person shouted. [break][break] "This trainer really is one big joke! AHAHA!!" [break][break] Zachary silently endured the hazing-- and Happy didn't even acknowledge it. Probably due to Soundproof -- maybe. Happy still had a smile on his face as he stood there. [break][break] "Don't be fooled. Happy has never let me down and I don't see him starting now!" Zachary said, believing in his little friend. "Alright, Happy, time to show em what you're made of!" [break][break] However-- Happy stopped and turned to Zachary with a raised hand. The little clown shook his head and gestured to Zachary, wanting something before he started. Zachary paused as Happy gestured to him. "Huh, Happy what's wrong? Don't you want to battle?" Zachary asked. Happy nodded but still gestured to Zachary's pocket-- where he kept his Pokegear. And then, Zachary understood. "Oh no... Happy, right now? There is a battle here," Zachary sighed. [break][break] Happy's only response was a cheerful cry and big, watery black eyes, asking to say 'pleeeeeaaaasssseee... [break][break] Zachary sighed. "Alright... Time out a minute," [break][break] Whoever was moderating the battle paused as Zachary knelt down and rummaged through his backpack. He soon took out a small mini speaker and turned it on, synced to his Pokegear via ro-tooth. He soon set it up and hit 'Play'. [break][break]

[break][break] Baby-baby-baby-baby--yeeaahh![break][break] The moment the energetic, odd-beat music kicked in, Happy let out a happy cheer. The little mime LOVED music and dancing, even in a fight. Battle soundtrack or something like that. Either way, it put Happy into a great mood and benefited his movements. Happy began to bob and move to the pop music, ready to go. If haters were going to hate, he was going to 'shake it off'. [break][break] "IF it wasn't clear... Happy is a bit.. unique," Zachary explained. There was a good chance even Arron may have found this development a bit... offputting. [break][break] Dizzy on the sidelines frowned and shook his head in silent judgment. [break][break]

"Wiser Words Never Said" [S-Z]

The little yamper was adorable as it happily escorted them. While it was a little ball of excitement that was hard to predict, he was ver friendly. Was it because they were in the safari zone that the Pokemon here were so friendly for the most part? He had no clue. But the safari zone was indeed a preserve area to nurture unique Pokemon. It wasn't like the wilds where they fought to survive. There was a sense of peace in here. The humans who built this place indeed seemed to love Pokemon as much as Zachary did. [break][break] Zachary and his Pokemon soon followed the Yamper to the edge, ending in a grove of thick trees. The trees were almost tropical in their rich desnity and green leaves. Though they were inside an indoor preserve, the sunlight from the 'greenhouse' was getting quite warm. " Whew... let's take a break okay?" Zachary said as he sat himself at the base of a tree. Dizzy, Happy, Tarot, Calypso and Yamper didn't argue as they sat down or wandered around the trees, curious. Zachary began to open his backpack to take out some snacks for them, as well as some for himself-- specifically bottled water. [break][break] As he rumaged through his pack, a pair of eyes was on him. Up in the canopy, a giant ape-like Pokemon spied the human and his companions. Curious, the monkey soon swung low, a single hand hanging on the branch as he observed Zachary. [break][break] Seeing the boy's hair the monkey didn't hesitate to gingerly pick at it-- as if trying to find bugs in a fellow primate's hair-- and he wasn't even that dirty. [break][break] Having only looked away a moment, Dizzy was observing-- till he saw the invading Orangruru. Dizzy quickly hopped up and started to bark at Zachary's direction, startling the boy. He waved his arms and cast barks there. Zachary looked up, but the Monkey was as chill as ever. [break][break] "Dizzy? Dizzy, what's wrong?" he asked. As Zachary was about to turn-- the Oranguru swung back up into the treetops, causing Zachary to not see anything there. He looked puzzled as the monkey buisness clearly wasn't getting noticed. He turned back to Dizzy, confused. [break][break] "Dizzy... you gotta calm down a bit more. Don't get your fur all singed okay? You're a fox. Be coy," he replied offering his friend some berries. Still, Dizzy gave a serious growl-- showing he was trying to say something important. [break][break] As Zachary decided to pet Yamper-- Oranguru struck again. This time when he wasn't looking, the curious monkey hung low upside down, using its feet to hold on to a branch. As it did, he took Zachary's packpack and swung back up. [break][break] Dizzy went crazy after that as he got up and waved his stick, now aflamed. It ruined the gentle petting of the Yamper as he stood up. "Dizzy! What's wrong with--" It was then that Zachary realized his bag was gone. His food, his clothing, books, and Tarot cards he loved so much. it was gone in an instant. He blinked confused-- and out of past issues, Zachary turned to his Kadabra, conversing to Calypso a small distance away. "Tarot! Did you steal my stuff AGAIN?!" [break][break] Both Calypso and Tarot looked to Zachary, confused looks facing him. Happy of course was the only one to shake his head while Kadabra just stared judgingly. [break][break] Finally, Zachary heard the rustling from above and looked up. There it was, a couple of branches above-- showing a big, white primate with a banana leaf fan rummaging through his bag. "Hey! That's mine! You could of asked first!" Zachary childishly proclaimed, but the ape just continued. It didn't steal anything but started to look things over-- and drop them down back to Zachary. [break][break] As it made a mess of his clothes-- Zachary took out his Pokedex and raised it up to scan hit. [break][break]

" Oranguru, the Sage Pokemon. A normal-psychic hybrid. A highly intelligent pokemon that meditates in the canopy of the jungles. It is so wise it will throw Pokeballs and issue orders to other Pokemon, suggesting it is a wise and well-regarded leader. On occasions, it will seek out Slowking, to match wits with one another. It is said it will look down on inexperienced trainers and only recommended for veterans.

Zachary's irritation turned to awe as he saw the wise sage-like Pokemon. "Wow... talk about lucky. He's just the Pokemon I'd like to meet and have," Zachary said as he put away his Pokedex. However, Oranguru was still absorbed in searching through Zachary's bag. It wasn't even keeping it, but rather looking through it and examining it. It paused at Zachary's Tarot Card deck. The big ape looked it over and gave a soft bite to the case, curious about it. [break][break] Dizzy still growled at it as Zachary sighed. "Why do all my Pokemon go after my cards. Excuse me, Mr jungle sage? Could you please give me back my things? " Zachary called. [break][break] Either it was ignoring Zachary, or absorbed in its task but it soon dropped the cards and continued to look through the bag. Zachary caught them, but saw as it still was in its own world. "As much as I'd like to battle-- its probably very strong. We should try to talk to him... if we can get it's attention." [break][break] Yamper barked back, seeing the big ape in the trees. Sadly the Orangur dropped a blanket from the back-- which landed right on the dog and covered him. [break][break] It was then that the Oranguru soon saw her-- Calypso in the field with Tarot. The Slowking, looked up now, noticing the great sage of the forest. The two exchanged blank stairs, as if finally noticing one another. [break][break] The blank stares turned into serious ones as the two stared daggers, and the Oranguru finally dropped the bag, distracted by her. Slowking let out a low cry of its own-- and Oranguru waved its fan. Zachary and Dizzy looked at each one, clearly sensing a growing frustration between them. IT was as if lightning sparkled between them for some reason, showing their growing aggression. [break][break] Remembering what the Pokedex said about Oranguru and Slowking-- a look of dread showed on Zachary's face to expect some kind of fight. " Um... I'm no expert on sagely politics, but I think this could get ugly," Zachary commented. [break][break]Dizzy looked on with an annoyed and sarcastic look, clearly sensing the growing tension about to break.[break][break]
