And beyond understanding, or at least causing some disbelief, might be der pun as well as the finger guns. Dee does seem to look smug for a fraction of a second before dee nods at Makoto's agreement. But before it would be time to actually have a look at the wares offered here, the shiny illumina alolan Ninetales. Fenelle chuckles at Tsukiko's happy greeting, even if it also has a slightly awkward, surprised edge - truly unfamiliar with the art of getting along with pokémon.

"They really do," Fenelle grins, giving the fox a slightly hesitant pat on her chilly head. "Is there anything you'd like to eat?" dee then asks, looking at Tsukiko at first, but also gesturing at Makoto as well. "I've only been here before a few times, and I can recommend the cream puffs for sure. They're surprisingly light." Almost with a cloud-like texture, but not as heavy as dee perceives candyfloss to be.

The world indeed is ending.

Caught between a glowing rock and a fiery place, Fenelle does der best to scramble away as possible - but even without the Metagross upholding a connection, without Rotom telling dem, dee knows from the heat chasing dem that Livy is right at their heels, and livid. In this moment, there nothing left but panic as dee drags der injured body onward, onward- until dee stumbles, and the heat stops just short of dem. Rotom escaped the wristwatch and used Ominous Wind to direct the flames as their intensity lessens.

Through crackling, hungry flame, dee can see two figures hurrying away. The space center.

Ultimately, dee failed the mission.

Livy's words resonate and mix with Morales' in der mind as dee stares at the inferno around dem. The haze makes dem see visions of der youth. Jumping from shadow to shadow, sitting and hugging a wall until a kind stranger would come and walk with dem so dee could make it back before everything turns into shadow. Memories of a ball, carefully balanced on der head.

Dee did this. They did this.

Der hairs stand on end even amongst the flames, felt with a chill coming from der mind, and spreading. Der Metagross taps dem, hoisting dem up on its back again as it barely floats. Before the flames could melt the beaten Orthworm further, dee recalls the steel worm, as well, tapping the pokéballs dee has still. Rotom returns to the wristwatch and updates Fenelle on what dee has missed in a brief explanation.

Sootopolis ...

They'd have to go. And as they leave, dee leaves behind.

The thing with Fenelle is that dee can be very stubborn and incredibly fickle as well. So, after another fruitless attempt, dee decides to let it rest for now and attempt an easier trick - the Primarina Twist.

Fenelle wouldn't have heard the arrival of another if it weren't for the Metagross giving dem a psychic ping. It would also transmit Elijah's words to dem, which dee regards with a simple nod in the heat of the moment - there's not much time for more chatter as the Stakataka draw ever closer. A Victrebeel ... and a sweet scent. Dee risks a look at the pokémon consisting of multiple stone hiveminds, and wonders the very same.

What kind of senses do they have?

However, it's maybe good that dee doesn't get to experience that immediately, as they leap into the relative safetly of a depowered power station (a station?). Dee would tap the Metagross a couple of times, prompting it to reach out to Elijah proper to establish a psychic connection if allowed - else, one would have to do with good old notebook and pencil.

Is the mission still on? Exploring the power plants and seeing if there's anything to salvage.

However, dee also pauses for a moment as dee looks at the cables again, kneeling down a little to get a closer look. Their scarred skin exposes the electricity lying underneath, frizzling and brzzting as it crackles along the metal lines. Isn't this depowered? Why is there still power left- or is it coming from the ambient electricity in the air?

Fenelle lets out a breath of relief as the jury reacts incredibly well to the flammkueche. Seems like that snobby De Laurierwylle house might actually have done something right regarding cuisine there ... too bad no one will ever give up that family recipe, either.

The mention of Paldea reminds dem of Area Zero, Hoenn's very own one. Dee hasn't been tooo often there, but each time for sure has been memorable ... and incredibly dangerous to the boot. Still, these thoughts are worth nothing in the cooking contest, so dee hurries to get started on der final dish of the day.

Dee decides to now finally close it off with a proper baked dessert, something sweet to finish. Pastéis de nata are among der favourite desserts in general, the custard with the flaky dough just making a delightful combination. The movements for this almost go automatically, and Magnemite, too, seems to be in a very good mood after the previous round and now that they come to something very well known, low stakes.

Or high stakes, maybe, as it's the finale and actually messing up something that dee does so often would kinda hurt.
