A masculine voice drifted along the cool breeze, announcing the presence of one very tall figure. His shadow descended upon Rosemary Lovelace's sprawled out form, as he bent over in half to offer her his hand.

"I apologize, ma'am."

Montgomery James had come to check on the berry patches. It appeared that despite the searing summer heat in hoenn, the fruits were thriving and ready to be picked.

Home, in unova, people would celebrate the harvest and thank mighty landorus for protecting their crops. He wondered if there was such an equivalent here. A pang of homesickness struck his chest, but it only lasted a moment.

Should she take his hand, he'd rise and pull her up before squatting down again. With large hands, Montgomery began to scoop the berries into a pile, righting the basket before placing them it. They were dirty, but it was nothing a little bit of water could handle.

He offered the basket back to her, hulking over her once more. "Do ya... need any help? I can get the high ones."

Montgomery heard a hissing noise, drawing his attention back to the present. No longer did his mind wandered along the beaten path, unlike his feet. Immediately, he reached for his pistol, drawing it and holding it aimed at nothing.

[attr="class","monty"]For a brief moment, Montgomery couldn't believe that this man worked with ameena abadi. He couldn't believe that her boss, in some form or fashion, had no regard for those nineteen lives and would take them again and again.

But, hadn't he been the same? Even Howard was quick to point out his past and wave it in front of his face like a piece of rotten meat.

As much as he wanted to seem unaffected by him, Montgomery felt his chest tight with frustration and pain. Because he knew that he didn't remember the people he'd killed. He remembered the first. He remembered the last.

But those in between were a blur.

"Get... outta my ROOM!" he shouted, thrashing forward helplessly as Howard leaned above his bed. "Get out. OUT! Before I fuckin' KILL YOU!"

Not that his companion would know that.

His Pokemon picked up a scent, leading them toward the side. And there, they found the individual, clinging onto life.

"I'm callin' reinforcements. If ya wanna get outta here and do a report or somethin', I can handle it from here." He didn't mind if Josh stayed or left.

It was hard being so locked into your mind.

Then, she was struck by the hypno, though her metal claws dug deep into yellow flesh. Should she free herself from its grasp, she gained a bit of altitude before pressing her body down to, in a way, smush it into submission.

A sword slashed in front of his vision, Montgomery's attention drawn back to Remiel.

"Yer a real piecea shit."

If Remiel was stubborn, Montgomery was equally so, like a tauros determined to attack. From a dream ball, something reminiscent of ameena abadi, he tossed a ball forward with a slight flick of his wrist. And, when clefable emerged...

She sang.

"Howard's not someone you can underestimate."

Did she truly find him so weak? Or, did she find that sniveling pig too strong for him to handle?

"He's not the same man he was. I know better now." Montgomery's steely gaze didn't meet her purple one. Instead, he spoke to the ceiling. "That don't mean he ain't weak. And I'll find his weak spot. And I'll bring him down."

A bit of his irritation settled, as he finally glanced back at Ameena. "Like you?"

Would Ameena stand by him if it came down to a battle of death with howard slayte? Or would she watch him perish?

Her hand came to his jaw, as if she was trying to calm down a beast. However, with a heavy sigh and one last glance at his lover, Montgomery shifted onto his side, facing the wall as he pretended some sort of tiredness overcame him.
