Bella had laughed rather candidly upon hearing herself be described as brave, "nah~ I just don't know what I get myself into," she'd said proudly, a somewhat reminiscent look on her face hinting that those very words were something she'd been told many a times in the past, "besides, a little old ghost won't do me in that easy, I'm built different, even if it did, if I manage to catch it on film, I'd say that's worth it," she'd said with a proud little grin, even if it was a bit of a dangerous mindset, she'd made it clear that she was dedicated to proving the paranormal, not exactly the most praiseworthy task, but one that she'd fallen in love with.[break][break]

"But hey, I'm rambunctious, if a ghost tries to steal me away or possess me or whatever its deal is, I'll make sure it's miserable while it does it~" she'd added with a proud smile, though her smile had softened to a more eased look at Thea's offer to help for more than just the night, "I mean, if you're not busy, that sounds great, but I don't wanna hog up your time," Bella had noted, sincere about not wanting to drag the girl away from any responsibilities she might have, "I interrupted somethin' you were up to earlier, didn't I? My bad," she'd added on further, recalling just how she'd actually met the girl earlier that night.

Perhaps taking on a job while running on fumes, cope and caffeine wasn't the most brilliant plan that Bella's had in a whole while, what had felt like hours, no, days, weeks, years in fact, passed by—in all actuality about a solid 25 seconds—and she'd been muttering to herself in a near manic state, pacing in circles, subconsciously fitting her foot prints to match the funny little circle she was making because it was fun, the bags under her eyes accentuated by how sunken in and simply put crazed she seemed to look as she slowly paced, her Rotom phone in hands. The Rotom phone in question was shaking, whether it was from the Rotom's very own distress or simply Bella's hands themselves shaking due to stress and torpor. Nonetheless the girl with a scar over her eye had been chanting some sort of mantra to herself, proving her sense of self-worth.[break][break]

She'd shouted triumphantly with a smile she could barely hold up, dizzy and a little half-lidded, perhaps suffering a little bit of heat stroke in addition to her lack of sleep and questionable decision making as a responsible adult^TM. Though she'd overheard rustling over the cacophony of sound that washed over the beachfront, normally a noise that most normal people probably wouldn't really pay much mind, but Bella was freaking out thinking her help had flaked on her. She'd almost thrown her Rotom phone directly at the source of the rustling, the sentient levitating device managing to slip from her grasp a little early and prevent itself being used as a source of blunt force trauma.[break][break]

Realising that the source of the rustling in the bushes was another person, she'd hurried over to the girl and her Luxray with a deranged smile and a nervous shiver in her eye, "You! Y-you're her! The Help!" she'd shouted excitedly, "You're late!" no she wasn't, "I'll still defeat you!" she'd rambled further, seeming to have forgotten in her excitement that she was waiting for this girl to help her find pokémon to take pictures of, not to battle.

With the ensuing awkward silence that filled the dilapidated worksite, simply a girl, her Croagunk, her Rotom phone and a poké ball that had pinged in confirmation of the capture, Bella had looked down at the ball at her feet, her Croagunk the first to break the silence with a rather raspy chuckle, holding its hand to its face as it delighted at its trainer's humiliation on stream. She'd later find her chatlogs filled with the same messages spammed over and over again when she went back to review the vod, her chat flooded with the word 'HOAX' and 'CRINGE', mostly in good fun—she was the one who coined it originally after all, but, as hilarious as it was in hindsight, Bella couldn't quite bear the shame, with the most awkward, pained smile on her face as her two brain cells were working over time to formulate a single thought to escape the situation.[break][break]

"RIGHT! THAT'S ALL WE HAVE TIME FOR CHAT, HA HA!" she'd mustered as much gusto as she could, putting on a rather silly look of bravado, yet still refusing to look directly into the stream, "WOW, TOO BAD WE COULDN'T FIND A GHOST TONIGHT, HUH? WELL, BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME!" she'd said, almost robotically as she hurried to grab her Rotom phone, to its surprise, quickly keying in the practiced stratagem to shut off the stream and protect her heart.[break][break]

With the stream abruptly closed, she'd sighed, a little disappointed that her rumoured ghost was just a silly ol' Chatot, but she had to look on the bright side, a new friend and potential DJ, even if she didn't get to see the paranormal in action tonight, there was always next time, as she'd said so herself. Dejected she'd slowly made sure she'd had everything before trudging out of the dilapidated worksite. Yet, at the time she hadn't noticed, but, new rumours began to make their way around, at the very least in her own little fandom of Shadies; Chatots were known for mimicking sounds, her Chatot had to have learnt those phrases in those distorted tones from somewhere, right?

Bella smiled, seemingly unaware of her new friend's fear of that which she herself loved so dearly, simply being proud of the fact that Thea called Bella's friends. Her pokémon had more or less accepted the pats, besides her Sprigatito who was a bit more fussy than the rest of her pokémon, "don't feel too bad about Nyanya, she was prickly with me too when I first picked her up," Bella had commented with a chuckle, picking up the bowl she'd put down earlier when she was searching her bag.[break][break]

Nonetheless, she'd laughed at the idea of the Wigglytuff being scary, giving the balloon pokémon a quick scruffle of its tuft, "I suppose she is, huh? Though ghosts aren't that scary to me, honestly~ mostly just a really neat subject matter," she'd further added on, her foolhardiness when it comes to the supernatural seeming to be less actual brazen bravery and more just a slightly unhealthy interest in the occult.[break][break]

She'd paused a bit as Thea had commented on not hearing anything similar to what she herself had described in the area, "might be good to check the Hills... though all this forest around us is pretty big too, hm, lotsa places to go in one night, huh?" Bella had mulled over aloud.

The cries of wingull overhead, bright sunlight washing down so early in the morning, painting the sandy beach a bright, cheerful gold, glittering off the waves crashing against the beach, the soft rustling of trees and a peaceful, soft breeze that gently pushed clouds across the beautiful blue sky. It was the perfect day to spend outside, enjoying life, nature and joy itself, and the perfect day to take some pictures![break][break]

The first, most wonderful noise that had escaped Bella since she'd stopped off on this island, slumped on the ground, languishing existence itself. She clearly wasn't having the best of days, in fact she'd almost fallen flat on her face when she was getting off the flying taxi to get here, dropped her phone in the sand when she was transferring the fare, and was just overall painfully drowsy, unable to remember just when exactly she'd last slept but, it was probably recent if she was still standing. Of course, she'd signed up for a photo op, something about taking photos of the local wildlife... and something about this being a two person job? She couldn't quite remember, in fact she was trying to decide whether or not she remembered if there even was another person she was supposed to be here with, maybe she was just gaslighting herself and wasting time.[break][break]

Regardless, despite looking absolutely haggard, she'd done the only thing any responsible adult with responsibilities and a job should do, cracking open a can of far too sugary energy drink and chugging the thing in one go, the epitome of health, as she'd awaited for her mysterious perhaps imaginary co-worker. She'd been mumbling to herself somewhat, trying to convince herself she wasn't waiting for nothing, "c'mon, Bella, you're photographing wild pokémon, they probably want an actual trainer helping find them or something... a real trainer. Wait, I'm a real trainer, or maybe the real trainer was the friends I made along the-- no that's dumb," she'd squinted a bit, "... or is it..."

Bella had smiled proudly upon hearing that Thea had recognised the name, her grin widening ever so slightly more upon the compliment. Her little Mimikyu, Cheiri, had wiggled in response, seemingly delighted by the affection and attention she was receiving, ghostly folds of cloth seeming to undulate in Thea's hands alongside the content little noises the ghost pokémon was making. Bella herself had noticed the Wigglytuff nuzzling against her leg, crouching down with a grin as she stroked the Baloon Pokémon's ear and tuft, happy to shower the big gal with attention—and curiously give her cheeks a little stretch to see just how much they might go, though stopping before it seemed too uncomfortable for the pokémon.[break][break]

"Night adventures are my expertise~" Bella had said jokingly in response, "but hey, maybe with a guest I might get some good luck for the night~" she'd tacked on further, not thinking that most people would probably consider it bad luck rather than good luck to actual sight the paranormal.[break][break]

As she'd received her share of food, the scarred girl had thought it best to actually feed her pokémon too, carefully settling her bowl down—a tad too hot for her to handle one-handed—as she'd casually tossed out three more poké balls, each releasing a Croagunk, Sprigatito and Absol, crowding up the place ever so slightly more, "Well, may as well get introductions outta the way, huh? There's Dewdrop, Nyarium and Angel," she'd introduced the three in order, each pokémon greeting the new faces to them in their own unique ways—Dewdrop croaking rather lazily with a haphazard smile and wave reminiscent to how typically tired her trainer looked, Nyarium purring with a rather proud curtsy, and Angel letting out a simple, quiet huff.[break][break]

Bella had set down a couple of bowls for her own pokémon, "mind if I get a share for my friends? I'll be happy to offer some food back, though, it's mostly ingredients for quick sandwiches, poké kibble or instant packs... never really was that great at cooking," she'd admitted with a laugh. Though she'd perked up in response to the ghost question, answering rather jovially, "well, I did hear about some ghost tales out and about the woods around here, something 'bout a singing ghost who spirits away folks~" she'd been perhaps a little too nonchalant about such a rumour, she'd given Gominha a little squish and scritch, "that's what I mistook Gomi-gomi here for, at least~" she'd added further, pointing out that she was actively searching for and heading towards what was supposedly a spectre that disappeared people.[break][break]

"aside from that... eh? It'd be pretty poggers to see any sorta ghost, honestly," she'd added rather simply and laxly, unironically the kind of person to mix internet lingo into everyday conversation.

Bella, Dewdrop, and the camera had turned around as quick as possible, a disorienting sight for the stream, yet... nothing was there, not a ghost to be seen, let alone anything that might have been the source of the voice. Bella herself had mixed feelings, an excited grin, ecstatic with the idea that she might have found the real deal this time around, mottled with the spine-chilling worry that permeated her, she knew she'd heard it, even the chat was lighting up—some thinking it's a prank of hers or at least faked, others flashing various emotes or freaking out.[break][break]

Her question had been cut off by the voice that sounded like death itself, a nervous laughter escaping her as she'd swiveled her head side to side, trying her best to find what was calling out to her. She'd almost took a step back, catching herself when she'd realised she'd be stepping off the floor if she did. She'd taken a deep breath in, steeling her nerves as she'd called out, "come on out! Prove you're really here!" she'd said with as much confidence and bravery as she could muster, only to be met by eerie silence that had even left Dewdrop looking noticeably concerned.[break][break]

A gust of wind from behind had pushed her back to the hallway, a silhouette fluttering by in an instant, nobody could tell what it was, yet by some miracle, Bella, by assumed reflex had grasped for the silhouette, and somehow caught it with her own two hands, holding on for dear life as screeching and screaming echoed throughout the hallways, the ensuing panic and fight going on between Bella and her struggling spectre, shaking her Croagunk off her shoulder as it prepared to protect its trainer, the Rotom phone filming it all with nail-biting concern... only for the two to stare at the ongoing situation.[break][break]

Bella hadn't caught a spectre in the slightest, what had been struggling in her arms—pecking her in the face, illiciting an "ow" with each little peck from her—in a flurry of feathers was... a rather upset Chatot, screeching a handful of ominous sounding lines as it continued to struggle for its freedom. Though despite this, Bella had managed to decisively hold it down, still not aware of what was in her hands. She'd spun around after catching her breath, the proudest smile covered in scratches as she'd shown her phantom of the night off to the chat, "check it out, chat! I FOUND A... Chatot." she'd blinked a couple times, staring down at the rather cross parrot glaring daggers at her. Wordlessly with an awkward air, she'd managed to sleight of hands a poké ball out of her bag, and rather casually with a most unenthusiastic grunt, gently bop the bird pokémon on the beak with it, a little red in the face with embarrassment knowing she was live right now, unable to make direct eye contact with her Rotom phone.

"Oh you've heard of me?" Bella had flashed a grin, "or are you thinkin' of a different person? I livestream as Night Shade!" she'd reintroduced herself with her stage name with a peace sign mimicked by her Mimikyu, though even without Bella's personal permission to do so, the Mimikyu's ghostly shadow arms had snaked their way to Thea's in as non-threatening a manner as possible, grabbing at it softly to lead it to the Mimikyu's faux head on their own. Bella herself had smiled, stepping forward to make it a little easier, "If you want, you can hold her for a bit too," she'd offered further—of course if Thea didn't accept the offer, she would have put the patchwork ghost down on the ground so that she could play with the other pokémon around her.[break][break]

Bella had smirked as the girl had hurried to save her food from turning into further kindling for the fire, "Not a single one!" she'd admitted without much hesitation or awkwardness, laughing with quite a hearty chuckle, as if she were making some sort of impression or reference with the laugh itself. "I've got a good feeling for tonight though, if you wanted to come along, I don't mind!" she'd happily added on, not really considering the trouble she might get into if her new acquaintance somehow got hurt in her care on stream—not that she's ever really considered much of that in regards to her own safety either.[break][break]

At the offer of food however, she seemed even more lax, simply nodding her head with a grin, "I'll take you up on it if you've got some to spare for lil ol' me," she'd accepted.

Without much hesitation, she'd happily taken the drink offered to her, receiving it rather politely with both hands with a quick dip of her head in thanks, she'd quietly sipped the tea as Thea introduced herself and her pokémon, a warm chuckle escaping her as Thea had noted the similarity between the names of the streamer and her little Minccino, though she'd perked up further at the mention of ghosts, "oh, nah~ well, finding one would be great honestly, but I'm more interested in hunting actual ghosts!" she'd said rather proudly and unabashedly, "I livestream that sorta stuff all the time, you see~" she'd said rather offhandedly.[break][break]

She'd stood up from the sleeping bag she'd been laid upon, a little doe-legged from weariness yet still brimming with energy, "but yeah! Ghost pokémon are just as cute and exciting too," she'd added proudly, reaching into her shoulder-bag, and casually releasing a Mimikyu from her poké ball, "Like, look at Cheiri here, she's just an adorable little thing isn't she?" she'd held the little ghost-type in her arms like she was cradling a baby, a ghastly black arm escaping the patchwork trappings of its disguise to wave hello. She'd pat the faux head of the pokémon, careful not to accidentally displace the artificial flower woven in, "I've got a couple other cuties too, not ghost pokémon, but still plenty cute," she'd added with a charming smile.

The Rotom phone had been fairly understanding in that the stranger clearly didn't seem to want to hurt its owner, Bella in question snorting in her sleep as she'd been moved to a more comfortable spot and position. The most peaceful look was on Bella's dirt-covered face, a rather happy smile despite the ensuing chaos of her nearly taking a Primeape fist to the face looming over her. Though it hadn't taken too much longer before the Sing-catalysed sleep had seemed to wear off, a bit of unsightly drool dripping down as she'd stretched awake, eyes half-lidded in a rather unflattering stupor as she'd felt far more refreshed than earlier, even if it was only a moment of rest.[break][break]

"huwah, what--" she'd blinked awake, not quite familiar with her surroundings—having only seen them for a mere moment before passing out earlier—she'd managed to put together the handful of pokemon around her alongside the blonde girl in front of her, understanding them to probably be trainer and party, "wait hold on, where's the ghost?" she'd asked, her priorities clearly rather straight, where she was, or the fact that she'd seemingly blacked out, not particularly on her mind, at least until she'd realised she'd been a bit impolite, "oh, right, right, right, my name's Bella, nice to meetcha~" she'd introduced, her expression far less grim than it tended to be given the brief respite her body had, though still somewhat haggard even with the smile she'd had.

Sauntering from Mauville in general, a particular Isabella Lavigne had come on out, she'd been scouting locations for most of the night, which mostly meant listening around for ghost stories, 'fact checking' the internet, and actually visiting a place to see it and pretty much say 'yup, this looks haunted alright', that sort of official, high-quality professional work. Nonetheless, the scarred streamer had been dragging her feet a little, a tired little yawn escaping as she'd stretched her arms, Mauville had some potential overall, but there was places out further from the city she'd wanted to visit, for more personal fun reasons than for work.[break][break]

While she wasn't streaming, she'd still had a habit of at least recording even her day to day, just in case something interesting happened. Though usually she'd end up deleting the footage anyway, not finding much entertainment value out of it usually. Especially given her sour countenance, not exactly from a bad mood, simply that when she keeps her mouth shut, she tends to give off a more mature vibe, and her natural resting face naturally ends up as more of a frown, coupled with her tiredness and the particularly prominent mystery scar over her left eye, she sometimes comes off as intimidating or at least unnerving to those that don't know her.[break][break]

She hadn't exactly taken very long in her rather unenthusiastic walk through the woods, when she'd overheard something, a strange melody, echoing out over yonder. She was aware of rumours of a ghost song of sorts, and victims being spirited away, of course, given that she was a connoisseur of the supernatural. Doing the objectively worst thing to do in a horror situation, she'd headed towards the source, skulking through the woods, making sure her path was silent so as to not alert a potential spectre and finally catch one on camera! All too used to this sort of thing, she'd actually been pretty good at keeping quiet, mindful of any rustling or tree branches she might step upon, care taken for each step as she'd pinpointed the source of the melody, an almost hypnotic song just beyond a small thicket she couldn't see past beyond an ominous flickering light.[break][break]

Steeling herself—or rather double checking to make sure her Rotom phone was recording at least, she didn't want to waste the opportunity trying to fiddle with starting one of her livestreams—with a hardy, venturous and brave assuredness she'd jumped out into the clearing with a battle cry, shouting—with complete disregard for how terrible an idea it might be to aggravate a supposed spectre that abducted people—her impassioned jubilations echoing out; "Finally found you, you dastardly phantom! I'll show off the real-- real... thing...--" yet half way through her speech she'd found herself losing control of her body, falling face first as her vision blacked out.[break][break]

She'd fallen asleep. Several nights of staying up far too long, running on about 7 hours of sleep over the last 3 days, chugging coffee and energy drinks, alongside her euphoria letting her finally relax a little, with the addition of the soothing melody of what was in fact a Wigglytuff's song, had been quite the excellent combination for Bella to end up laying face first on the ground. Her Rotom phone had awkwardly floated out from where she'd come from, the little bolt of living energy that powered it blinking a couple times as it had saw that what she'd jumped in on had been a stranger simply camping with her pokémon, and its owner slumped like a ragdoll on the floor snoozing away. The Rotom phone had slightly nudged her, to no avail, the sentient piece of technology seeming to make all sorts of beeps and bzzts, seeming to try to apologise to the stranger that Bella had walked in on, for the mess she'd caused.

As Bella had haphazardly tackled the door down, ready to strike a cool pose as she'd gotten ready for a candid shot with the ghost of the night, she'd rather in fact, not done that in the slightest. Instead, what had awaited her on the other side of the door had been a sudden drop—the room she'd barged into clearly incomplete, as she'd barely managed to hold onto the door and swing at its hinges, quite literally off her feet just a moment, some three stories off the ground as she'd yelped with a "Woah!" as if she were some beloved, 1996 anthropomorphic bandicoot mascot, just barely escaping death, with her stream all the witness as her livestream almost became a LiveLeak.[break][break]

"I'm good!" she'd shouted from behind the door, sticking a thumbs up out from it assumedly at her floating phone. "So, smooth moves right?" she'd said with a proud look, despite her schmovement being anything but smooth. She'd looked around the empty hole of a room she was in, not a spectre or spooky bedsheet in sight, and the lack of proof had left her a little miffed as she'd awkwardly made her way back, an audible CRACK echoing out as she'd almost ripped the door off the hinges trying to pass back over and almost fallen again.[break][break]

"Well, that's a bust, you clipped that though, right? I'm so not doing that again." she'd ultimately relented, trying to look at the bright side of things—and making light of the fact that she'd nearly seriously injured herself twice just now. She'd been somewhat busy reading through the chat logs, scrolling the Rotom phone with a rather impish yet decidedly lazy look to her close-up on the camera as she'd glanced between reactions and back out at the empty not-room. She'd almost fallen for a third time, however, her attention focused on two things and her nerves somewhat on edge when something had made her jump with fright, almost shouting some non-stream friendly profanities but managing to mum her mouth shut when she'd heard,[break][break]
