Bailey was trembling; the energy could not be contained. Soaring on a high that felt stronger than anything she had every experience, she laughed at DANIEL WALKER 's assessment. “I was twelve, okay?” There was a tremor in her voice. Was it excitement? Terror? She could not explain it. Kapow was in a similar state; he shook with the energy that the Dragon Dances had granted him.[break][break]

The sandstorm erupted, obscuring her view of the legendary. All she can see through the roaring sands is the flaming outline of the giant as it prepared its retaliation. Bailey peaked from cover, trying to find the pale white shape of her Togekiss. “Tink!” She shouted, trying to catch her pokemon's attention. Like everyone else, she had noticed the floating rocks that were drifting toward the legendary–they had to be stopped.[break][break]

“Aura Sphere!” The fairy understood the command and prepared her attacks; three orbs were mustered with all of the energy that she had to spare. When completed, they were launched into several different directions, each aura sphere honing in on a rock to (hopefully) strike.[break][break]

But, that was when the stone edge was deployed. “Look out!” She screamed over the sound of the ripping wind. “Dodge!” And the fairy tried to follow her trainer's commands, attempting to fly at a sharp angle to dive around the approaching projectiles.[break][break]

Sand obscured the results. Bailey lost sight of her Togekiss. Fear seized in her chest–this battle had to end, before something awful could happen. Before someone else was killed. “Fuck, fuck–” Daniel had his pokemon prepped and ready. It was her Kommo-o's job to take the lead. “Go for the leg. Where Tink chipped it.” She breathed. He nodded. They both hoped that she would be alright.[break][break]

And with that, he charged. He jumped over the scarp and tore into battle, ready to engage with the Regirock. The chip that Togekiss caused was higher than the dragon, so the Kommo-o used Sky Uppercut to lunge into the air, trying to strike at the legendary with his empowered and shaking fist.[break][break]

And if that worked? Then he would dig one claw into the split stone as if it were a placeholder and bombard the legendary with his fists; fists that were adapted at breaking through boulders if the proper pressure was exerted.[break][break]

notes: togekiss used aura sphere to attack the healing rocks. tink tries to dodge the stone edge. kapow charges toward the regirock and attacks the chipped leg that tink caused the previous round. kapow uses sky uppercut to reach the chip that togekiss caused and tries to latch on, then uses close combat to try and worsen it. good rolls pls pls pls--

Bailey never went hiking. The great outdoors never called to her. She had always loved the urban sprawl. When it came time to investigate the region of Hoenn, she was usually...disinterested. Nature held no fondness in her heart. As each step takes her higher up the steep embankment, she could feel the burn in her calves; exercise was overrated, but she did not have a choice.[break][break]

Tink didn't feel like dragging her along. The Togekiss flew freely, watching her trainer struggle along the Jagged Path... and Bailey could swear she heard the marshmallow bitch snicker.[break][break]

She had raised her well.

Something was wrong.[break][break]

Silence greeted her lips; no remarks were uttered as Bailey Cooper stepped through the arcane doors. The unknown greeted her with an impenetrable veil. It was pitch black. She struggled to see her own hands as she raised them before her face. One step–one crunch of her foot grinding against undisturbed ground–produced an echo that reverberated into the depths.[break][break]

That was when a shudder slipped down her the length of her spine; it was wise to fear the unknown. “This... doesn't feel right,” but she continued onward. Bailey could not muster a single wisecrack. She couldn't make light of the situation. Her mind was occupied; her senses were strained as she tried to anticipate what awaited them.[break][break]

Hushed whispered confirmed her fears. Bailey Cooper could have died of shock as one of the surviving explorers uttered their frantic warning. She jumped out of her skin, repelled by the noise... and further repelled by what followed.[break][break]

Regirock. Its eyes were smoldering. The light it cast traced across the rolling mounds of dirt as if they were spotlights. Suddenly, the cavern was not so dark anymore. Suddenly, she knew that everything was fucked. Rising tors tore through the ground beneath them. [break][break]

The noise of impact was audible; no-one could hear the wet squish and not imagine what had just happened. Someone had been mulched. “Fuck,” and she reacted. Togekiss. Kommo-o. They were released from their capsules, letting them view the imposing legendary.[break][break]

Everyone was converging. They were either engaging with the Regirock or relocating. Moves were erupting left and right–it was time to pitch in, even if the thought pumped her veins with stone cold panic. The adrenaline rushed over it. It brought a smile to her lips.[break][break]

Kids would daydream about this moment. Everyone wanted to see a Legendary Pokemon firsthand... and beat the living shit out of it. Bailey had to confess, of all the legendaries she could have fought, Regirock was never considered. Guess it was time to change that. “I think we can top it,” she said to DANIEL WALKER , referencing their stupidity that had lead them to this point.[break][break]

“Follow me. I saw something.”[break][break]

And she ran, jumping at the edge of the escarpment to quickly join the battle as it unraveled. “Tink! Air Slash! Twice!” The fairy would follow those orders as she flew low and close to Bailey. Each slice of compressed air would drag through the air like a knife, trying to strike against the massive, lumbering target. “Follow it with Aura Sphere!” She was praying for Air Slash to cause the legendary to flinch, if even for a split second.[break][break]

The damage may have been insignificant, but if there was a chance for it to happen...Bailey would try it. A blue orb of pure energy, compressed into the tiniest and brightest of forms, was conjured and released by her Togekiss. The orb swirled, trying to home in on the Regirock; Aura Sphere.[break][break]



Her feet pounded against the dirt. If her partner had chosen to follow, he would see what Bailey had planned. The terrain was uneven. Mounds, crags, and plateaus made for cracks for the darkness to be cast. Salvation awaited in the scarps where she could try and avoid catching the legendary's attention... or, at the very least, seek cover if it chose to attack.[break][break]

She slid into the tight space–her heartbeat audible in her ears–as she switched to her next stage. “Kapow. Dragon's Dance. Three times,” because he needed to be able to hit like a fucking truck. Because he needed to be faster than their enemy. Because she knew that three times was the most that it could be performed.[break][break]

notes: bailey books it and invites DANIEL WALKER to join the madness. has tink attack with two air slashes/one aura sphere. tink's ability serene grace will act to increase the stagger chance of the air slashes (if we wanna do it like that). anyway, she wasn't completely dumb and was running for cover. once behind said cover, orders kapow to spam (buffs) dragons dance three times to WHOOP ASS. he'll be speedy strong boi.

Pokemon had appeared. Bailey barely had enough time to get herself off the ground–even less time to introduce herself–before the encounter began. “...Am I being mugged?” Judging by the appearance of the pokemon, Bailey presumed she was correct. This was a mugging. The outskirts of Slateport were so crime-ridden, even the pokemon were influenced.[break][break]

“Uh. Dude. I dunno if that's a good–” the alley was so narrow that Bailey had to sidestep to give the suit-man enough room to step pass, “–idea.” When the Krookodile lunged forward to strike, she had to duck. The Scraggy was preparing to take a similar approach. That meant one thing. It was time to battle.[break][break]

As the stranger deployed his Fletchinder, Bailey followed his example. Her hand dropped to her hip, snapping off the first pokeball her fingers could touch; Tink the Togekiss was released. “Quick! Air Slash the little guy!” She'd leave the croc to the other guy.[break][break]

Tink swooped down, using the tight space of the alley to her advantage. The Air Slash was funneled by the tight confines, allowing for a fierce strike that gave the Scraggy no way to dodge–the damage inflicted caused the pokemon to flinch.[break][break]

And in that time, Tink used Aura Sphere and knocked it unconscious. From her peripheral, Bailey witnessed the man wrap up his battle and capture the thuggish ground-type. “Well, least you got some muscle for when those people show up. Who'd you piss off, anyway?”

Bailey listened to the continued pettiness with disinterest; of all the stupid shit for people to get worked up about. Were they dead? No? Then why was it still going on? She stepped toward DANIEL WALKER and nudged him gently with her elbow...and she was mindful to avoid the side where he had been injured.[break][break]

“Woman, amiright?” She murmured loud enough for him to hear, unable to keep herself from poking fun. After the joke had a chance to register, she transitioned. “Anyway... You've taken a beating. Take it easy. Just for my sake, okay?” They were partners--even if they gave each other constant shit. She scratched the back of her neck, gaze rolling toward the door, knowing she had given him an opportunity to prey on her concerns and make light of it.[break][break]

A part of her wanted to hear it--just so they could dispurse the stupid tension from the fight that had almost erupted.[break][break]

It wasn't a support pillar. It was a door...and the cadet glanced up at the giant hole in the ceiling that they had toppled through. There wasn't anything left to fall on top of them. But, whatever. “Have it your way; I just think in-fighting won't help us out when Rocket comes swooping in,” and it was ironic that the woman was talking shit about the gym leader considering she had used Extreme Speed and pulled a Cooper.[break][break]

“I can hear that catchy jingle already. What was it? Prepare for trouble...? Damn. Can't think of the rest.” And she wondered if any Rocket members among them would be stupid enough to fall for her trick. [break][break]

“...I thought shinys were supposed to look cool,” and Bailey was quick to withdraw her Morelull to spare its feelings–though the fairy seemed to be completely oblivious to the words leaving Bailey's mouth. Her eyes drifted toward the group as DANIEL WALKER limped to join them. The fall must have hurt him. Everyone was looking worse for ware.[break][break]

Kapow had rejoined her. Her hand touched his face, checking for injuries. He looked fine. He must have jumped down after everyone had fallen through. “Still no explorers.” She murmured to herself, wondering where they could have gone. Everyone had clustered by the door and she can barely overhear persephone amavi translate what was on the walls.[break][break]

zeke rainey 's jokes were humored after blood was smeared on the wall by riley maddox . “You coulda asked. I got plenty to spare.” If she had to rub her bleeding leg on a door to appease the puzzle, then hell, why not?[break][break]

Some were taking a different approach. Bashing through the door seemed like the wisest option to Bailey Cooper. Better than sparing her own blood. “Kapow, think you could help with that?” The Kommo-o nodded. “Give it your best punch if they can't get it open.”[break][break]

He prepared to use Close Combat, his fist trembling with an unspent energy that would be delivered should the takedown not be sufficient.[break][break]

Her landing was not graceful. Despite the presence of Tink on her shoulders, Bailey Cooper still felt gravity pull her through the newly-formed hole in the ground; her fairy had barely enough time to flap her wings to keep her trainer from plummeting straight to the ground.[break][break]

It did little to soften the landing, but it was far better than the alternative. She hit the ground hard. She had to pick herself off the ground, dust her knees, and take a garner at their new surroundings; but, her body was not willing. It groaned in protest. She has to force the effort. [break][break]

And it had all happened before she could retrieve her newly captured–oh. Never mind. “Thanks,” and she took the capsule from zeke rainey . Without hesitation, she released her new pokemon to inspect what she had got. “Least I have you, little cutie–” Wait a minute... Bailey squinted.[break][break]

“What's wrong with you?” She announced, staring at the shiny coat of her new Morelull. “Are you sick?” Seriously? She had to catch the ugly one? What the fuck?[break][break]

The safeguard would keep them safe; Bailey was familiar with the move, suddenly wishing she could have brought more of her pokemon along. The spelunker restrictions suddenly seemed ridiculous.[break][break]

“If they kept using the spores, we'd be okay.” She replied to her partner, watching as other people reacted to the countless Morelull. The fire (Dallas Rhodes riley maddox ) had seemed to char the remaining spores, leaving the shroom pokemon unscathed. As long as they were unharmed, then maybe this could be simple? “We should hurry,” and a part of her was tempted to reach toward Tink to ask her to use Extreme Speed twice; but, Bailey had enough sense to know that wouldn't work for every situation.[break][break]

All of that heat could rile up the Morelull. She didn't want to be around for that.[break][break]

Moving around the stone edge barrier Silvia Blackmore had constructed, the only thing that kept Bailey from trying to run through the cluster of shrooms was the uncertainty of where she would be going–and not wanting to leave DANIEL WALKER in the dust, of course. “We should chance it while the safeguard and light screen (zeke rainey ) are active,” but first...[break][break]

She deployed the big guns. One small tap to her waist released the pokemon that she had owned since she was young--the pokemon that reflected her one true talent; stirring up shit. Kapow the Kommo-o appeared from the flash of red light; the mere size of the dragon easily dwarfed her. It was a power play. If Rocket Members (@joey ) were among them, then the sight of her dragon was a warning.[break][break]

He bowed himself over his trainer; the coat of scales hid a multitude of scars that raked his skin. He was a fighter, that was for damn sure. As he rubbed his beak against Bailey's cheek, she gave her order. "If you see anyone lookin' drowsy, think you could give 'em a lift, big guy?" He nodded. From the corner of her eye, she can spy people like persephone amavi that looked like they needed the break; the woman's arm looked thrashed. "Ask nicely. Don't be a douche."[break][break]

With that settled...[break][break]

Bailey chucked a pokeball into the cluster of fairy-typed pokemon. She had no idea what the capsule might have struck. There were too many to tell apart. “I'll get it on the way through!” She protested to anyone that might have questioned if now was the time to be capturing pokemon. “Orrrr the way back. Whatever! Screw it!”[break][break]

She rushed in, ready to retrieve her pokeball while being mindful of the spore-spouting Morelull.[break][break]

notes: wants to make a run for it while safeguard is active. deploys kommo-o to help with people that are feeling sleepy because of the spores. tries to catch a morelull (this bitch). starts to make her way through the shrooms to see if her catch was successful/start moving through these cute lil' roadblocks.

With her ears ringing, Bailey accepted DANIEL WALKER 's outstretched hand. She felt a stinging pain as she dismounted from the ground–and she refrained from inspecting the damage–road rash was never fun to look at. “I ate shit,” and as her partner recalled Anansi back to his pokeball, she slid her leather jacket off from her shoulders and tied it to her waist to hide her injuries. She was still dazed. It made her miss @joey 's fast shuffle to get to the front of the group, to where commotion seemed to be unraveling. “Yeah. I'm ready.” Walking was going to sting... and Daniel's own injuries were made apparent. “We'll make it,” and she gave him a gentle nudge with her elbow. [break][break]

Her shorts were ruined. Her stockings were ripped. It was a mess. “Am I bleeding real bad?” She could feel blood trickle down the back of her thighs, but that was nothing to concern herself about. It was nothing that bandages and antiseptic cream could not solve... [break][break]

She picked up the pace, ignoring the burn, as her eyes were attracted by the glowing light... “Are those–?” Hundreds of pokemon. [break][break]

Everyone was retaliating against the endless onslaught of the mushroom-like pokemon. There was a glow in the air. Recognizing that the light was probably spores, she covered her mouth with her hand as the cavern was lite with flames. [break][break]

It was a shame. They were cute. Bailey found herself wanting one, even if they posed a risk to the team. “Tink, get ready to use Air Slash,” and she glanced back to her partner, wondering what ideas he might have cooked up.[break][break]
