As if anyone would just back out of a fight here. The effect of Balder's arrival through what looked to him like phantom force was somewhat dampened by his garb.

At least he didn't recall telling anyone to do this, and it seemed like an arrangement he would have to have paid for. ''Oh, I've got plenty of messages for you, Schwartz. I'll think they'll get through to you today.'' Anxious as he was, he was still looking forwards to this.

After he had both this guy and FERNANDO SILPH dealt with he couldn't wait to pretend he didn't know who they were like each of them did. Tossing one of the premier balls forwards, a polteageist appeared from the flash, hovering in the air and peaking out of the top of his pot. At the very least, if the hulking man had forgotten who he was, he wouldn't have to worry about exclusively anti-ghost type pokemon.

At least he could always serve as a bad example. Sometimes knowing what not to do was just as important as making the right call. Not much time was spent dwelling upon it. The suggestion of a battle of their own, or a tag team battle merited much more attention. A genuine smile creased his features, not that Hideo would notice.

The shadow ball impacted impotently against the chipped mystery material mask. The creature is rocked by the centiskorch's lunge, stumbling against the rocks beneath his feet. The forceful impact feels as if it might have hobbled its ability to fight at maximum effectiveness. It's eyes flick from the bug type to the stalking lycanroc.

The darkness came alive around it and tried to take the Type:Null, only to wash harmlessly over it. Suddenly, Frankie could move again. No longer held in place by the devil magic of some unseen flying pokemon further back in the cave, the first thing it desired to do was to bat Incandescent away with an Air Slash, kicking it into the cavern wall with frightening force.

''Ghost types moves seem ineffective!'' Buzzer warned. This was a mistake his own trainer had made. ''Plan for normal type!'' The most logical choice. As the ceniskorch's flames dimmed from the rock dust mixing with the smoke around it, the Type:Null went to surge towards his captors, only to stumble over the moving anchor from the dhelmise.

His rage only further inflamed, his keen eyes noted all the forces gathering around the weakest among them. There was a big one yelling, calling all the shots. That one! That one needed to go. Cut off the head, and the rest of the bodies would die. The arrow chinking against the helmet to chip away a tiny sliver distracted him, one that smelled of metal and flesh.

There were too many of them together, unlike the terrified fleeing stragglers he had collected before. Still, they were breaking. One of the smaller ones were trying to get away with another. Trying to run were they!? Flashing a scary face at the luxray, he hoped to halt it in its tracks. Before his attention fully returned to the big one, he suddenly felt a strange sensation.

Claws and feet scratching at the ground, an sense of panic overtook the Type:Null as it lifted into the air along with several rocks, pebbles, and fallen stalactites. It let out a blood curdling wail of frustration. What sorcery was this?! Then an aura veil slammed into his head at full force, snapping it back harshly.

It was super effective!

With a cracking racket, splinters and shards spiraled out from the impact to float in the zero gravity zone. The Type:Null cut a full cartwheel in the air. Dazed, the impact had sheered away the top of the helmet, revealing Frankie's plumage, and a single confused eye. For a moment it spun limply in the air. He had forgotten where he was for a moment.

''Gengar..'' Knowing his typing was likely useless, Epitaph reached out with poltergeist to right the creature and hold it in place for further assaults rather than leave it to flail in the air. With a distant clanking, Skyler reeled up the main portion of its body before blasting out another anchor shot.

Perhaps overkill enhanced by steel worker, it blasted into the back of the remains of the helmet for more chunks to fly into flotation around it. More cracks spider webbed from the point of impact. The Type:Null attempted to flail helplessly against all the forces arrayed against him. Even if he didn't know what was going on, his urge to kill these pests returned!

For someone who often made a spectacle, the sort of big television media spectacle was not something he had any desire for. Media tended to sensationalize the wrong things anyway. None the less, his opponent today was too big for it to be any surprise, not only in psychical size, but regional presence as well.

While long had Andy desired this confrontation, he had hoped it would have been more on his terms, and perhaps with higher stakes. Alas, this was the opportunity provided. The flat bright sands of the beach contrasted with the fantastical arena that surrounded the to combatants. Logs lain against one another, woven into a circle with a space across from each other.

In this way, the contestants could enter. Outrageously, the logs were also well oiled, and were sat alight in a burning ring of fire. The flames danced high into the clear skies and amplified the heat that the Galarian hated so much. Surely it had been done on purpose. None the less, he could only stand and wait for the arrival of his opponent, Balder Schwartz .

Surprised was he as well at the blind boy fairing so well against John Sullivan. Then again, the gym leader was the type to pull punches, not that he would openly suggest that's what had happened. Doug had to know most of what Hideo could bring to the table at this point. Hell, Doug probably had a good feel for most of his own repertoire.

Andy couldn't help but wonder if that was because he was intensely unlikable, or if he was just shooting blanks. Perhaps he would ask next time he saw the man. Not since his battle school days back in Galar had he stood in such a setting. While a loose little arena was drawn around them in the sand, the most grating thing about the locale wasn't the sand, but the sun beating down on his milky skin. He'd never been one for beaches even back home, and the heat sure made him homesick.

At the very least however, this was more traditional compared to his bout with angelo vestri . A doubles battle. Not really knowing what to expect, or who he was up against until they rounded the berm, his pokeballs flashed out the boy's runerigus and what was becoming a personal favorite, skyler dross.

Since the sea was breaking on the sand less than forty paces away, he thought the dhelmise would feel right at home. Now just to see who his opponent would be. Andy wondered, like with Angelo, if it would be another familiar face. While that might be a little boring, he would at least have an idea of what to expect.

Sitting atop his old tried and true steed, Ravana, Andy wondered what he had gotten himself into. It had been assumed every face-off for this little festival was a simple head to head match-up, a stand up fight. So when he found himself in a relay race above the beach through the sky, he was a little surprised. It was fine though.

I've got plenty of pokemon that fly. And it was just flying... right? How hard could it be? He flew most places he didn't teleport. The pokemon did most of the work. Perched on a hill, beside him was his competitor; a familiar face. ''Do they have to do all these here near the beach? Bloody humidity...''

Galar was far cooler, dryer. Much about Hoenn's climate made him miss it. Near the two stood a man with a revolver. The boy found it a tad old fashioned, but it still held some charm. When it was raised and fired, the first leg of the competition would commence until one of the two of them landed at the finish line with all six flags that were strewn across the route.

But as it happened Andy thought it just figured. Exactly what he would expect from the snooty Kalosians. He wondered if even his Galarian pomp compared.

Shit. What if that's the only way? Grimacing back in the direction of Ruby Walker 's chiding, the smoke obscured her, but perhaps it was for the best. It would spare her his stank face. John Sullivan was trying to keep everyone's head on straight, and the type:null was getting absolutely clobbered from their little blitzkrieg.

Coughing as smoke filled the cavern due to Inca's quick defense of his trainer, doubtless the centiskorch was thinking more of the boy's safety and less about the terrain in which they found themselves. Even after the beating that slammed into the monster, its gleaming eyes still bore through the smoke. While it was uncertain how visible it was to the others, Andy could see it.

The heavy breathing emitted from its gullet was a much more chilling effect however.

''Hello! Hello! Is everyone alright!?'' The pokedex hovered about the stalactites near the roof trying to see if any harm had befallen anyone. Andy didn't respond directly. ''You heard the man! Right between the fucking eyes! Break his mask! Let's see that ugly mug.'' Epitaph responded by slinging a shadow ball at the eyes.

The cracking sound of the sharp stones separating from the roof where still echoing all around them. Incandescent lunged at the creature, hoping to ensnare it his coiled form. Similarly Skylar's anchor moved, drug across the ground from where it had fallen after its previous attack, the clump of seaweed hoping to further entangle it within its chain.

A stalagmite smashing into the cave floor beside it, showered Andy with splinters before he could bark out another order. Stumbling off into the smokey abyss in recoil, there was the ultimate hope to avoid another one landing right on top of him. He didn't know just how successful he would end up being to that end. No matter what however, the enemy before them was more important than anything.

While he trying something a little different with a Galarian pokemon over a ghost. Now his feet were getting wet though. Grimacing at the pool, he couldn't have this for him and his team.
