The only chink in the conspiratorial chain mail of his own paranoia was that both of his mother's pokemon seemed quite authentic. To replicate such loyalty and behavior would be fairly impossible, or at least incredibly difficult to the point of improbability, especially with Ravana. On the other hand, it wasn't like his mother to so easily retreat.

Even the megalopolans would stand no chance here, he felt.

Whatever John Sullivan was saying about his retreat was far less important than the racket that green dragon was making through the destruction it wrought. Glancing at the cacophony the light dancing in the creature's mouth immediately concerned him, given that the head was aimed right at them. It wasn't the first hyper beam fired at him.

''Shit! Scatter!'' There wasn't much time wasted with explanations. Diving down and away from his friend, Andy hoped that both of them flying in different directions would throw the pokemon's aim off enough to elicit a miss. His panic fueled flight distracted him from the actions of Kazimir Wynter's corviknight until they had been covered.

Flashing a thumbs up, hopefully he wasn't too far away to be seen. Of course if the hyper beam wasn't cause for concern enough that the coming rock shower of draco meteor completely escaped his notice. Attacks where already being hurled at the world rending maneuver. This felt more dangerous than Mauville for a change.

Finally something to top the megalopolans... Steering his dragapult around in a looping dive, Andy skirted the surface of the water before swooping back up towards the far side of the meteor. ''Draaa. Draaa!'' Spectress was very concerned about these powerful dragon aspected moves.

''Don't whine. If this goes right, you won't have to touch it.'' Reaching into his shirt he felt at his broach with some apprehension. It was only his second time doing this. ''Taph! Let's slap this green dick in the dirt!'' A shimmering cloud burst into existence from around him flowing from his form like a thin vapor trail at first.

The volume of the cloud expanded into a clearly gengar shaped formation that hovered around the dragapult mounted adolescent. Red eyes appeared as slits before fully opening to complete the visage. Carried up and around the far site of the falling planetoid, the gengar's trademark grin parted as Spectress weaved through the rocks and boulders trialing off the back of it.

Debris was caught within his mouth as they flew, rounding over the top and coming down the other side, once again the trio plummeted back towards the water perhaps even threading the needle betwixt the dragon and the wall it sought to pierce. Skimming the water yet again, the dragapult and curved back up towards the monster, as a ominous lavender glow filled Epitaph's parting mouth.

''Taph! MALICIOUS MAW!'' Employing his z-move, the cloudy gengar fired a shotgun blast of explosive ghost-slicked rock projectiles at the dragon's underbelly and the meteor besides, hoping to aid in the redirection as well as deal some damage to the audacious space snake. And if not, at least he probably looked cool.

The breeze blowing off the ocean, cool as it was, did little to alleviate the blistering sun. The Galarian boy prayed that next summer the tournament theme was all about air conditioned gyms. None the less, here he was for his next bout. Just like any of his previous matches thus far, this combatant was familiar to him.

Chu-e Choi was one of Hideo Kino 's acquaintances. His existence became fully known to him at the festival earlier that year, until it had been attacked by some poke diety. But then, he recalled that he had fought a few pokedieties along with this dude. Was he unlucky or were there just too damn many pokegods?

''Keep your eyes open, Husk.'' No acknowledgment came, but the empty creature used mind reader none the less. While shedinja wasn't the best pokemon ever, it could be an irritant if one didn't have a counter. A gamble, but it wasn't as if this tournament was going great for him as it was.

Sucking soft drink through a straw, he raised an intrigued eyebrow at the mention that Hideo had a lot of matches lined up. While there wasn't much doubt, if any confirmation was needed that the kid was serious about taking up the champion title, there it was. Seemed as if he was spoiling to hone his craft to the point of martial gluttony.

''A lot of matches?'' Setting the drink down, he couldn't resist ribbing him like Hideo had just before. ''You've gotten too important for the guy who saved your life once, eh?'' Rare was it that the Galarian found it necessary to lord a past nicety, rare as they were, over someone's head. If there was an exchange to be made, it was established beforehand.

The chaos in the cave doesn't subside. A stone the size of a basketball plummets towards the cranium of Hideo Kino where he thankfully his lazing pokemon takes the hit. Miraculously it isn't mashed into a gut filled stain. However it will likely faint. Hideo himself may experience the sensation of being knocked silly.

Leaving the monster to his fate, Arashi Akiyama rockets away on his towering steed, stones of various sizes impotently clanking off of his carcass with a deafening racket. Miraculously none of his pokemon are raked off to be left to a terrible fate. Thankfully for all involved, Ruby Walker 's togekiss ensures that any further injuries are moot, the rest of those present being shielded from the cave in.

Frankie, too dazed from the sudden freedom from his fancy head wear, and the horrific ass beating, stumbles to his feet when he is able to use them again. The world around him quite literally falling apart doesn't aid with his disorientation at all. While all the remaining trainers would be shielded from further danger and suspense by Garo's mass teleport, John Sullivan remained behind.

Capable of moving, at first Frankie attempted to resist the psybeam, as again, it was unsure exactly what was happening. Despite the rain of debris around them, somehow the remaining souls within the collapsing cave managed to avoid being struck. A moment later, all would find themselves outside, for the most part safe.

In a cacophonic cascade, the cave fell as if it were a flattening snake up until the entrance itself melted into rubble, vomiting smoke and gravel to pelt harmlessly against whomever might be closest. The scene outside was choked by a thick foggy quagmire of dust and smoke. Their location would likely have been noted, as the destruction cast the vapors high into the sky, flailing up in a large plume.

Thick and stinking as the air was, visibility was enough for all present to mostly see one another. Frankie had materialized right in the center of the lot of them. Glancing around with a vacant look within his pained eyes, none of this made sense right now. Where was he? What was going on? Why did he feel like he had been thrown over a cliff?

Tucking his legs under him, the creature bowed his head against his chest in a submissive cocoon. Looming out of the dirtied mist, the dhelmise looked over the type:null with a clear distrust beaming from his eye. The rotomdex zoomed over his shoulder to drink in every aspect of the mystery pokemon. Meanwhile a call echoes through the haze.

''Gengar? The mist muffled form of the bright centiskorch, mended through Ruby Walker 's actions, wandered toward the remains of the cave. ''Gengar?'' The ghost pokemon, with his shimmering white affliction, was much harder to catch a visual of. Looking up from reveling in his discovery, the rotomdex too hovered up into the air to vainly look around.

''Master Blackadder, Andy?'' Floating towards the cave as well, he was bothered when no immediate, severe response came. ''Master Blackadder, Andy?!'' All save for one had escaped from the cave it seemed. Despite all the psychic presence and the worried calls, Andy Blackadder was gone.

Given the scene things took a strange turn when she was more concerned about the rocket, speaking as if she had just walked up while he was enjoying a Unovan strudel on the patio of some sunny cafe. It didn't ease any annoyance. To him, 'hey, I need information about the rockets you saw' would gone a long way of avoiding the current predicament.

Heated as the combat was, he hadn't recalled them trading anything but jeers. Nothing jumped out as useful, except perhaps for his dialect. ''He wasn't a Hoenn native and... from what I saw he had darker skin.''

The Alolan marowak was a good pokemon. Liked enough were they that he possessed two of them himself. Far more majestic than the more standard variant, some of their attacks were an impressive samba. Perhaps his own love for dancing is what drew him to the pokemon, besides its ghost typing of course.

''Jeely, don't let him let you look like a sucker.'' With a little clank as the pots top closed down it spun as the fireballs approached. Whizzing around the first fireball, Andy held his breath, wondering how the polteageist could see where it was going. It was a concern that turned out to be providential.

The second orb of greened fire licked at the bottom of the pot causing a slight wince to tug at the corner of his trainer's mouth. None the less, as the pot spun through the flame, the top parted and the spooky sentient liquid inside vomited a mass of darkness that flowed into an orb, firing a shadow ball at the marowak.

''Tch.'' A scoff escaped at such an assumption, in jest though it was. That being said, his track record hadn't been great. Even all the way back to Galar, although in those days his grand total of two pokemon didn't leave him a lot of options. While now he had many more, Hideo well knew he was a ghost type trainer.

Hideo mentioned a phone app, and for a moment a wonder passed through Andy's mind at how he interacted with such technology. Text to speech could surely only take one so far. It wasn't something he felt was important enough to derail the conversation over however. Another time.

''I can specifically request you, eh?'' Taking a confident bite of his burger, he talked and chewed open mouthed. ''I'll see about getting it done then. Gauge the potential of the future champion of Hoenn.'' While not entirely in jest, part of him still hoped it was a future that wouldn't come to pass.

Floating as it was in the zero g field, the confused dhelmise reeled his anchor back from the air until it inexplicably clanked against the ground. Did androids dream of electric wooloos? Could haunted sea weed clumps receive psychic explanations? The great consequence of the situation left little time for such philosophical musings.

Striking some pokemon through the haze with his scary face, Frankie wasn't expecting to get one in return, wincing. He never saw the iron tail blast into the side of his head, spinning him around in slow motion within the air like a space pinata. More chunks splintered off to join the growing asteroid field of mystery material.

A mach punch then spun the monster on his vertical axis. While whatever hearing apparatus he possessed was surely ringing, a familiar cry reached his ears adding to the blunt force induced confusion. It didn't help when he then heard absolutely nothing. Most of the helmet fell away with the swipe that came after.

The large, jagged planetoid joining the field of floating debris. Left spiraling afloat once again, an arrow arched into its exposed flesh, eliciting another blood curdling howl that strangely didn't seem to hit how own ears until far later. All this sorcery, it was horrendously unfair. If only these assailants had been found in the woods.

Fire licked at its flailing legs, increasing the pained cries elicited from the dog piled predator. Even Incandescent had collected himself from his wall crater to join in with an inferno. Flames influenced by the zero gravity were a sight to behold, like fluffy billowing clouds of red and orange. The smoke only thickened, making the air difficult to breath.

To add the cherry on top of the Frankie souffle, a darkened golem soared through zero gravity to slam into the charred creature. The helmet shattered, pieces shedding from the type:null as it and the golurk both soared from the weightless field into the nearest cave wall, the centiskorch scurrying out of the way in a panic.

The entire cavern shook. A deafening crack echoed off of every surface. The helmet wasn't the only thing shattered. Chunks of the cave rained down. Boulders fell and began to choke the opening both before and after them. Collapsed into a blackened, bloodied heap, this place had become the grave of many and it would become Frankie's too.

''I would recommend vacating the premises immediately! Immediately!'' The shiny rotomdex cried as it made for the disappearing light at the end of the tunnel, the centiskorch and gengar trailing after it, the dhelmise too, though often hampered by stones clanking off of his metal form. Pained and annoyed, the pokemon sallied fourth, as should they all.

He had stopped being a child at Mauville, and that was an advance he would continue to pay interest on no matter what anyone had to say, even himself. There was no taking it back now. At any rate, perhaps no one had told her he was staying with his aunt.

Either way, if this was the extent of the League's detective skills, it was a boost to his confidence to pursue his future plans. Plans that certainly did not include the League continuing to exist as a governing body. Despite the machinations turning anew within his skull, her continued gripes didn't escape him.

Of course he had the sneaking suspicion that this was the setup to pin some of the destruction on him. For such a basic bitch game, this was way too competitive. Next to the titanic fights of gigantamax pokemon back home, this contest appeared somewhat mundane to the Galarian boy. Hoenn seemed to compensate with size and power with massive volume instead. It seemed like the result was up in air and shouts and jibes were being hurled through the air.

The other boy was dashing his hopes of testing his mettle against him and also fighting at his side. A snicker was surpressed through a mouthful of food as Hideo warded them away from battling in his aunt's lavish home. As if he cared if it got wrecked.
