Another Tauros was spotted in a field, but just as the previous one, he had no use for such a massive beast, and so he continued on. It occurred to him that it wouldn't be long before he encountered the end of the safari zone. He hated to slide into the 'take what you can get' region, but it was what it was.

Blinking, the boy got the impression that the darker teen didn't fully understand the efficiency of a gun. You aimed, you fired, something died. Much more steps were typically needed for a pokemon to kill someone. There were only a handful he would consider instantly and hyper lethal. Their kabutops would probably be pretty good though.

So far as he could recall, the dark haired lady was a gym leader. As he wasn't a local, Andy wasn't familiar with all of them. And while he wasn't a scientist, his relatives had taught him enough to know that randomly slapping things together was a bad idea.

Another duskull appeared, but not a red one. Why were these bastards so hard to come by even in captivity? Andy considered capturing it anyway, but erred on the side of patience. Hopefully he would come across one eventually and bag his first natural shiny.

He could only stare, face contorted in puzzlement at first. When Doug began to laugh, the Galarian thought he might be coming around. His words, his flawless logic had finally convinced someone? But no. As the display when on, he came to see that it seemed like his commander was only humoring him. It was an act.

His own chocolate eyes averted from the older boy as he spoke. Something cold grew in him. It made him desire a jacket despite standing in a desert. It didn't make any sense. Why couldn't he look at him? No one had said that to him before, and despite all the heinous things that had, it seemed like it hurt more. His gaze didn't recenter on Doug until he was walking away.

He cares more about these bastards than he does me, he thought. A bitter poison ran through his veins. He clenched his fists until his knuckles turned white and his nails threatened to pierce his palms. An adage he had read as a child was coming back to haunt him again, as it had often throughout his life.

Will you forget me too? Indifference. That was the true freedom. He could not be loved, nor could he inspire hatred. He could only be forgotten. No answer came as Doug went to mount his truck. His face was full when Doug asked about him taking up residence. There was a part of him that didn't think it was a bad idea. The luxury of being part of a legacy had its perks, but it had its drags too. The young Blackadder had never experienced what it was like to be part of a community. He had always looked out for himself.

If had had access to the full scope of the family funds, he would have offered to dump it into the camp. Alas, no one back at the family estate in Galar had been so foolish to entrust him with anything close to that level of power. He received a stipend monthly, just like the rest of his family, an equal split of the royalties paid for literature, research, ect.

Most of that was spent on his camp, travel expenses, or most importantly his pokemon. Acquiring and maintaining an army of them was no small feat. He wasn't sure how other trainers did it. Perhaps that was what fueled the supposed black market of pokemon he had heard about. None the less, he was helping the best way he knew how by offering Doug to stay with him.

He smiled, but something sly tugged at the corner of his mouth. What was this comment about sweaty dancing? Was that supposed to be some manner of innuendo? It wasn't certain to him why he looked at everything with such a tint, but none the less it colored everything. Once again, Doug easily pulled him out of any fire he might have leapt into.

Going back to their spot by the fire, meal in hand, Andy was stuffing his face before the other boy was even talking. The flavor was hearty, earthy. It lacked complexity, but that wasn't its purpose.

Taking a step back when it looked as if the other trainer would vomit, he too wondered if Doug were really cut out for combat. Wasn't war a place for all manner of gore? That's what every movie and video game had always told him. When he finally composed himself, Andy crossed his arms at his explanation.

The whole situation was angering him the more he thought on it.
