It was nice to feel like a boss but better to remember not to lord over friends.

"We aint in red and black anymore so remember its healthy to say no sometimes." He clarified as he directed his two pokémon to join Razz' in the sky flying against a Murkrow, Ninjask, Steelix and Togekiss. "-except right now. You can't say "No." right now."

Yeesh he really was late to the party even Razz was looking for an out from another battle.

"Don't flake on me Kingsman you're cooler when you don't complain." He crossed his arms, deadpanned. "I missed this whole thing so humor me alright?"

He wondered if he was putting too much pressure on the youngster, but what was the point of (co-)heading the Rangers if he couldn't make his favorites suffer along side him?

Use SHELL SMASH to drop defenses and up your attack which worked well with a move like counter that took the damage reciever and doubled it on the attacker.

Making yourself take more damage so that you could in turn hit your opponent with more more more damage was a hell a play to make and Jennika made it well, taking the BOUNCE on and pivoting her body to slam bloo through the cement.

The rocky pieces flew up so hard and fast one of them cut the wartortles cheek.

But was it over?

Oh wait this is the eight post, so it was definitely fucking over.

Though the infernape had a flying-type weakness chimchar didn't have, infernape was far stronger being at its peak form while chimchar was still growing.

Yet, with that TAUNT still holding chimchars anger he was urged to attack, but now on Sénon's orders.

While the legend and the mythical pokémon traded blows of ice and magma. If the type match ups were any indication Articuno was about to fall behind. "SWITCH!"

SHEER COLD was a ballsy move to attempt; three out of ten times it knocked out the target pokémon cold, no pun intended.

But, since Sénon was destined to win this match, SHEER COLD didn't work so when chimchar jumped off of Heatran's metal head to get closer to the Kanto legend it was left wide open for a stream of flames to the face; NASTY PLOT finally coming in handy.

Leaving heatran itself to shake the foundation beneath infernape's feet.

It took a minute or two to get the rules ironed out.

It all came out in the end.

Two trainers on each side pick two flying pokémon each.

The two teams of pokémon fly in a diamond formation and can only attack while the two teams are on trajectory to collide.

Only the pokémon at the head of the diamond can attack.

Timing and type match ups were more important that ever in this match.

When Kingsman arrived he called his two to the field. "It'll be fun, and you need the practice." How did he know Kingsman needed the practice?

Because Rangers always needed practice.

It was a draw. Go figure.

Turned out the Rangers assault-only strategy had a hole in it the size of Goodra's Special Defense.

Before the sticky dragon got rid of the sea dragon the former was rendered frozen.

Kingdra piled on the ICE BEAMS while its opponent couldn't move but before the victory shot Goodra managed to thaw and get a final shot of its own.

non-sacrificial double knockouts (where two opposing pokémon mutually faint each other with direct attacks) were apparently rare but not impossible.

Usually D.K.O. were caused by moves like EXPLOSION and FINAL GAMBIT in which case the victory went to the one who made the sacrifice move.

One thing was for sure; that first shot didn't win the match. So... "I think I owe you like three drinks and one for your gooey friend over there."

The moment the battle kicked off Lars started acting strange.

He turned to the articuno and the body language between the two suggested they were 'openly' having a dialogue.

Though, Sénon couldn't hear anything. Cait seemed to communicate with Celebi through feelings and emotions rather than full on linguistics. It was kind of blowing his mind.

"Are you talking to it? Him? ...Her?" It made sense, some kind of psychic connection between the chosen and the chooser.

A TAUNT sent Chimchar into a small frenzy, he was afraid but he didn't like being mocked for it. Anger made his fear evaporate. Heatran, was just going through the motions.

Heatran used MAGMA STORM!

Chimchar used ACROBATICS!

Heavy damage (176) from one blow on a first stage pokémon to its final stage counterpart; talk about an ego check.

The infernapes' would be deflated as the spry ACROBATICs of the smaller primate allowed the shiny to deliver powerful blows to his biological superior; taking advantage of the weakness to flying-types chimchar didn't have.

Jennika was confused about the BOUNCE and she watched the bloated Azumarill float away.

Nearly confused it was Sénon's orders that put her to focus.

"Get ready; use SHELL SMASH" Furrowing her brows Jennika inflated her chest, rolling her shoulders back before at all once flexing every muscle in her body to splinter and then shatter the shell on her back.

Losing some defense for a greater gain of attack and speed.

The rough play wasn't what Jennika expected, it caught her off guard and nearly made her blush.

Turtles were tough creatures and she adjusted quickly, offering a COUNTER to the physical attack she was just hit with, dishing out twice the pain that she herself took.

Lars' casual cool caught him off guard while a proxy of fucking Articuno wafted in the air above them.

For a second the redhead's mouth sat agape.

"I don't know what to say. . ." He kinda forgot he wasn't required to say anything. It had to be impolite to stare at a god but each time it happened he was so caught off guard.

That's what made it surreal that the way he felt on the inside seeing Articuno is how Lars reacted on the outside seeing his Heatran and inquiring about the other one. "The magmutt?"

He'd sent it back to dahlia goode in rare form but still a little sooner than he'd have liked.

"Well its kinda rare but have you ever heard of DARK SHIV POWDER?" He didn't know who the hell "shiv" was, but as far as curry spices went, D.S.P. was probably the most luxurious, most effective and by far the most rare spice to come buy.

You couldn't even buy it in stores.

But if Lars had ever fed any to his own pokémon he'd understand instantly.

Despite the plan and himself getting proverbially punched in the face, he did love it when a plan came together.

Recalling Gan to his pokéball in the wake of a win he was glad the match had been so fun even if he'd lost in the end it learned something and gave as good as he got, he it was win in his personal records.

But a 'win' in the official records was nice too.

As for his opponent he would greet and thank the battle properly for a chance for such a strange battle before parting with a hand shake.

On a questionnaire survey regarding his battles he would regard this 'Submerged Triple' and his opponent both as "10 out of 10, would def battle again!"

As per how her battles usually went Jennika lead with WATER SPOUT and until she was damaged WATER SPOUT would continue.

Jennika used Water Spout!

It was a straight-forward tactic; use the most powerful move you have if you only have access to it at the start of the match.

With RAIN DANCE giving them the cover of water Azumarill's water resistance helped it a little less.

Even a brilliant plan could be pushed to its limits by some solid fundamentals from the other team.

The other guy had a few things working against him but just as he'd lost two pokémon, no sooner than he had his opponent lost two of his own.

Dinja fainted!

A pesky DESTINY BOND took out one of his Shedinja and Tsukuyomi had reached his limit on holding his breath. Before fainting he tried to strengthen the SUNNY DAY in play but was losing consciousness. The ranger returned him to his pokéball seconds before he began to drown.

Tsukuyomi fainted!

Gan was an old ditto captured by Sénon in his hometown nearly two decades ago. 'He' was the most experienced pokémon the ranger had, and it showed.

Not missing a beat D!Shedinja continued the attack in the spirit of his fallen teammates.

Ji was right. Sénon's memory was sparked. "Now that you mention it."

"You went for that one and I went for an Anorith..." He turned to Jennika who was just "Wartortle" back then. "-with this one here." The white-tailed turtle smirked harder.

Considering Ji-Hoon was all battled out there was a certain baked in civility to the battle.

The Ranger was forward but not pushy, it made it so that Ki could be a bit relaxed for the battle, not have to think too much.

"I'll start. Jenn-" Out in the established battle space Wartortle knew how she was supposed to start a battle.
