Summer Battle Solstice 01 (H✩T)

Unlike most of the ranger's other younglings Terawr had been raised from fossil restoration with his moveset already charted. He was now capable as he would ever be.

He only needed the battle blessings time could offer; experience, empathy, restraint.

As the Luxray magnet rose looking majestic as all hell, Terawr was less happy about it than Sénon himself. He'd never fought something that could be off the ground. (What sorcery was this?!)

It was madness on baby brain from a species that wasn't known for its intelligence to begin with.

Experience, empathy, restraint; Terawr had none of them.

In his anger he did what he did best. Even looking down at his blue 'stompers' all he could see was red.

He let out a wailing of a roar from the Luxray's liftoff and chased him down crushing the sands of the beach so hard the grains exploded upwards and their section of the beach rocked with mini-tremors from every step.

Terawr used STOMPING TANTRUM!

It wasn't even worth wasting his breath to now that the 'runt was a rampage. Sénon could only wait for the next moment to attack, trying to find the eternal patience he would need to be father.

"Ugh.. Kids."

It felt like the Ambassador-specific assignment in Kanto had come and gone so fast that it felt like just yesterday he was helping his uncle 'draw' up new business plans in the basement of the Game Corner.

Now he was back looking into the resolved gazes of so many familiar faces. Hoenn had been good to him over the last year to bless him with so many solid people.

They weren't as close as others but Sénon counted Anderson among those he considered solid. In fact, in terms of being solid Lars was an iceberg in the arctic.

"What, no welcome back?"

Summer Battle Solstice 06 (H✩T)

After five battles he was starting to feel the pressing of time. He'd grown up battling in backyards and on rooftops in Kanto for hours on end during Tag Battles and Royales.

Still, he wasn't fourteen anymore.

His body was reaching its physical peak but somehow his boundless spirit for battles had diminished somewhat in the last decade.

There were more important things in his life now.

After the Battle Tournament was done he and cait alfric would begin making preparations for their next generation.

Chances were this gathering would be the last time he could spend an entire day battling for the sport of it; capturing that old drive he once had.

Plucking a fresh pokéball from his side he resolve to go wild while he still had the mind and body for it.

Hot damn.

He couldn't take it anymore. Twisting the cap from a one-liter bottle of water with a 'snap' that satisfied him sonically before he even tasted the water.

He threw it back and swallowed as fast as it flowed down.

Once his throat was wet with cold relief and he let out a low sigh and throaty growl. The rest of the bottle he poured over his head. It was enough to wet his scalp and dampen his hair but not quite enough to wet his bare chest.

So he grabbed an entire second liter and dumped it on himself savoring the feel of flowing water over his skin.

He was so engrossed in taking a moment to cool off after his last battle that he didn't notice her approaching until she stopped before him.

". . . ." Straightening his back he stared her down but didn't speak. It was taking longer than normal for him to think of something to say.

Summer Battle Solstice 02 (H✩T)

A force he could only describe as "apparitional" slapped his formerly-spiky little white battle ball. Almost hard to watch.

If Togedemaru wasn't quite battled hardened yet, he'd be a notch closer after this.

For Sénon himself, it was a thrill to have the battlefield hammer home that he still had gaps in knowledge of pokémon and their movesets. Not only did he not know the species Adrian was battling with he'd never heard of a move called Trick-Or-Treat before.

He was familiar with Phantom Force however, and noticed the ghost type attack doing more damage than it should have.

Adrian gave him kudos and Sénon made a clarifying point.

"You turned my rolling victory into an uphill battle." He was making the ranger earn his victory, no doubt. "I'm not counting you out yet."

With most of his pokémon's moves and ability neutralized he would need luck to Paralyze and 'Flinchlock' his way to victory. In truth Adrian had the battle won, it was on Sénon to turn the tables around. "Toge, use Spark!"

Togedemaru used Spark!

The moment stretched out before him in such abstract ways as he waited for the confirmation message, the proof a life-skewing moment. The social event horizon beyond which nothing mattered more than the little life you created.

His stomach twisted into knots and the pores on his face opened to perspire.

So many thoughts moments and possibilities ran through his mind at such speeds time seconds seemed to be passing by slower.

It was almost the same as being in that endless spacial void, Dialga staring him down, imposing its will on his temporal crash.

While that one profound moment ended up having no effect on his life at all, as he stared down at Cait's photo it seemed this one would. ". . . ."

Hmph. If only it could be so simple.

Just when he began to let in the hope the third rollout would end things fast it fell through. Rather than Togedemaru missing on his own he was made to miss via ghosthole.

Clever girl. In Sénon's psychological profiling of other trainer's 'battle styles' Adrian was proven more tact than attack.

If the ghost was hiding somewhere it was picking a good vantage point to attack or prep an attack. The Roly-Poly's imperfect moveset made the next call easy to make. "Spikey Shield!" He wasn't supposed to be getting worked up, but for a random one on one it was getting spicy.

Togedemaru used Spiky Shield!

If you were having a battle tournament in the dead-heat of a tropical summer, the beach was the place to do it.

Even now from the shoreline Sénon waded slightly into the water; the tips of the tides keeping him cool as the water came as high as his shins. He couldn't possibly have looked so heatstroked that someone had to call him out on it.

Was this guy being an ass or was he actually concerned? Even if he was being empathetic...

What good was concern without action to substantiate it?

Furrowing his brows at the mans words Sénon felt underestimated. Rather than lash out, he pulled a pokéball from his belt.

"You know what they say about 'what doesn't kill us'." Tossing the ball into the water called in Sénon's battle proxy and it bore the same furrowed brows its trainer did.

He hadn't made it very far along at their sluggish pace before he saw something funny.

A Croagunk out in the wild. It reminded him of his first week after coming out of hiding from Rocket. It was the week he found Dose; his first Croagunk and one that would go on to be one of his most talented and treasured partners.

He probably wouldn't like a new battletoad in the ranks. Then again...

Heatran used Flamethrower!

If he couldn't leave the legendary lava mutts unsupervised for a few seconds without them causing injury, leaving what they injured and burned to suffer and fend for itself was not his idea of conservation.

Softer bodied than his brother the Togedemaru in play currently lacked for the ability to properly tense his body as a proper DEFENSE CURL required.

That inability would be rectified soon but each pokémon's development was to be handled with care.

Togedemaru used 3rd Rollout!

Its steering while rolled was so smooth it looks almost automated. Sénon suspected something about the pokémon's electric capabilities allowed it to detect magnetic fields without having to see them directly allowing for them to roll at accelerated speed with such grace.

The same way birds in low-flight avoided cars.

It didn't seem as though Togedemaru was going to miss.

Roll-slamming into the pumpkin the second time seemed to really hit with some force. If it tanked the third blow he doubted it would be able to walk off the fourth, even with Togedemaru's Iron Barbs neutralized.

Whatever Adrian was up to he was running out of time to do it.

Being called "Gameboy" nearly made the redhead spit out his drink but somehow he kept a straight face and swallowed.

He couldn't believe Carter remembered that name. You blow one hole in the wall of the Pokémon Tower during a unplanned battle and the Caretaker's son starts calling you names.

Sénon rolled his eyes away from samuel carter as if the Ferryman could read his mind and learn he actually embraced the name for a time.

Adrian's excuse made him grin smugly.

Of course he didn't want to form a band. Yet, Sénon could guess he didn't want to be left out if the rest of the three of them formed a band on their own.

Slapping his thigh at Sam's nicknames for Adrian and his friend Sénon slightly-tipsy concurred.

"I agree Carter." He pointed at Rowan Wrynn "He does have beautiful hair." He let the moment settle and took another three pulls from his straw.

Razz took his glass Sénon shot him a look of encouragement.

Turning to leave the ranger to be the center of attention it wasn't lost on the redhead how much of fan favorite Kingsman was. Laurence Anderson , skyler dross , FERNANDO SILPH , Zac Ramsay ; they all seemed to take to him so naturally.

He aside from Sénon believing in him personally, Razz was just a likeable guy. It was nice to the affirmation of that.

From his new spot at the bar he enjoyed his Rum Island Iced Tea one sip at a time. The Ferryman of Kanto took a seat to his left and soon after an aged friend sat down on his right.

So they were; four dudes at a bar.

He didn't know who the guy on the end was but the way Adrian broke the 'touch barrier' with him so uncharacteristically meant at the very least, he was someone important.

One of the younger lot needing the most attention and development he called Terawr from his pokéball.

The dino-tot looked as ready as ever for a battle. Rather than cower to the illustrious charisma and menace of the Luxray, the Tyrunt size it up for food.

Or at the very least, victory. "Terawr, ICE FANG!"
Bearing down on the Luxray with teeth fit to frostbite the Tyrunt was fearless and for good reason. The dino was half its height but two-thirds its weight.

Meaning it was sturdy enough to bring the Luxray down to size by biting away at its legs until it had none left.

Terawr used Ice Fang!
