Morpeko was enticed by the scent of a berry. Eagerness was abundant as he squirmed out of the bush that had previously offered shelter (and delicious blueberries). Unfortunately, he poked his head out just in time to see a trainer giving the berry to a Spinarak. His mouth was left agape as envy morphed into anger. How dare?! Did they not hear his poor rumbling stomach? He was practically starving here and getting very hangry. 

A high pitched squeak, meant to be a war cry, pierced the air. Although her reaction skills were top-notch, Gigi was caught unaware by the chubby hamster. The electricity struck her, causing her hair to stand on edge, before she could even process what she was looking at. "Rude." Gigi grumbled as eyes narrowed at the Pokemon. Morpeko returned the glare, his red eyes as sharp as the end of a knife. 

Luckily, the Spinarak had retreated to the Pokeball Gigi had offered. But that meant Gigi was left defenseless until an unlikely hero came to the rescue. Rotom had been disturbed by the electric shock and ditching its "body", which was a rare sight to see, it rivaled the wild Pokemon's intensity. 

Captcha disappeared in a blink of the eye before immediately reappearing behind the Morpeko in an astonishing attack. While not very effective, the foe's flinched body allowed the electrically charged ghost to get out of a point blank confuse ray. Morpeko attempted to retaliate but, in his confusion, dug his teeth into a nearby tree. His jaws crunched down hard and it was only when he tasted bark that he realized his mistake. 

The realization came too late, though. A powerful hex afflicted the raging Morpeko. Still light-headed, mind unable to focus, the Morpeko could only let out a feral grunt in response. 

"That's enough." Gigi ordered Captcha as she fetched for a safari ball and chucked it at the weakened dual type. Captcha turned to her, clearly displeased, but didn't argue.

Despite the situation, Gigi appeared to be detached from her surroundings. A finely tuned defense mechanism with a reliable virus function and firewall protected the awkward, feeble girl inside of her. However, the question was whether or not her brain could keep up these measurements through a war. It was a simple psychological trick that shielded her worldview, a simple mantra repeating what she believed to be true.

Life was a game. Those who were strong, skilled, or had the tactical advantage thrived in the environment. Monsters, including shadows from the past, spawned to hunt down innocent players. Her current surroundings only punctuated this false logic. For example, a motorcycle zoomed by and the earth rose to create a ramp. If that wasn't a script or mechanic of a video game then it needed to be. 

The Rotom possessed smart phone swirled around her as per usual, streaming the view and experiences to a crowd of who-knows-how-many. This was another protective measurement although Gigi wouldn't be capable of explaining why an audience behind their screens helped calm any nerves that attempted to form. "Captcha," she called out, "Don't get hit."

Whether she was more worried about her expensive phone or Pokemon was hard to interpret from her smooth facial features. For anyone who was viewing, the stream became blurry as the Rotom double teamed. She glanced at Captcha and his clones. While not useful in terms of the battle, at least not now, he would be capable of capturing various camera angles now.

As Gigi reached for her Pokemon, she noted the large amount of players trainers heading to the cliff via the nearby building or with the help of their partners. While they took the high road, she took the low road. The large congregation turned her away. If victory was to be achieved, they needed to separate and take different tactical points rather than tunnel vision on the area where the supply truck was located. 

"Fuck." Looks like they were on hard mode. With a quick snap of her wrist, she released her Porygon. A cannon of poison nearly consumed the digital Pokemon but the attack worked in their favor. "Ethernet, conversion two." Ethernet's appearance began to shift, replacing shades of blue and pink with hues of purple as it converted into a poison type. While Ethernet changed its interior and exterior data, Gigi released her Charjabug and newly obtained Venusaur. 

"Tank the poison if you can." she commandeered the Venusaur who was incapable of being poisoned due to its dual type. "Watch out for the dragon pulses. Don't wait for my command, use synthesis if you're injured." The burly Pokemon nodded as she moved to position herself in between the Guzzlord, which was still indiscriminately blasting poison, and her trainer. Gigi lingered beneath the foliage on Venusaur's back, hoping it would protect her from any projectiles. 

She grabbed the battery Pokemon, knowing the bug type would be unable to keep up. "Start charging up your electricity as we're walking." The box-like critter began to spark with electricity as it charged up the power within it. Though the static prickled at her skin, Gigi didn't complain. 

"Alright, let's do this, team." Luckily, a lot of games were team player games. She wasn't alone in this mmorpg-like raid. For now, she would play defense and tentative. Expectations were not currently established. She needed more information before going on the offense.

Realization struck Gigi as she smirked toward the hovering smart phone. "Oh, by the way, disclaimer: if you can't handle violence or language then g-t-f-o. Also, please don't try this at home blah blah and all that crap."

Rotom, occupying Gigi's smart phone, uses double team in an attempt not to get hit (while simultaneously finding the best angles for the stream because yes we're live folks).

Porygon tanks a belch which allows it to use conversion 2 and turn into a poison type.

Venusaur is attempting to shield/tank the other pokemon with her brute size as Gigi ducks beneath her foliage. She was commanded to use synthesis if injured. 

Charjabug is being carried by Gigi and using charge in preparation.

"Oooh", Gigi whistled, "A Spinarak" Unlike the previous bug looking Pokemon, she was familiar with the tiny spider because they were adorable. Honestly, most bug types were pretty darn cute. That previous monstrosity had to have been a crab inspired monster or something because it wasn't a cutie like most bug types. 

Gigi dug into the pocket adjacent to where Captcha was snoozing. She should probably invest in a backpack of some sorts but those were so cumbersome. Still, although she had pockets for days, it was a hassle to remember which item was where and so on. Regardless and with only a slight amount of struggling, Gigi found what she was looking for. 

"Hey, cutie." she spoke softly as she approached the Spinarak, berry in hand. The Spinarak darted up the trunk of the tree it had been resting on. However, the scent of its favorite berry caused the green spider to (very slowly) repel down to Gigi's offering. Gigi was surprisingly patient as she watched the spider. Tentatively, the Spinarak slid down into the extended hand. Its body shook with content and joy as it took a bite of the ripe, delicious berry.

Too. Freaking. Cute. "Wanna come with?" Blunt and straightforwardness were two of Gigi's specialties: there was no point beating around  the bush. She wanted to catch the little critter and prove to the internet that bug types were, in fact, very charming.

Bruh. What in the world was she looking at? Gigi stared at the bug-like creature that scuttled around a nearby pond. Its large, bulging eyes made it impossible to tell which direction the Pokemon was looking. The old shrimp was facing in her direction but, despite this, it appeared ignorant to her presence. Instead, its googly-eye type eyes wobbled in every other direction.

Seriously, though, w-t-f is that? That was an easy enough question to answer.. if her phone wasn't being held hostage. Captcha was nuzzled back into her pant's pocket with its body still one in the same with that of the smart phone. Another petty argument would commence if she tried to summon her. Yeah, she was so over that.


Gigi sighed and then shrugged. Oh well. She could always look up the strange and rather creepy Pokemon up later. Jotted down details were inked into her memory. Once she was positive (or at least 90% positive) she could recall upon the knowledge with ease, Gigi continued her venture into the "great" outdoors.

"Captcha, can you take a quick picture?" Her pocket buzzed, the sound similar to that of a wrong answer in a game show. "Pfft. Lazy." A high-pitched ding signaled that she was correct in her labeling. Ugh. Gigi hadn't meant for that to be a compliment but, considering who she was dealing with, she should have expected the results. It was never that easy to motivate Captcha when he was in "power save" mode. 

"Come on, Captcha. Don't make me have Ethernet boot you out of my phone again." "My" held little weight behind it. Gigi knew she lost ownership of her phone the moment Captcha had taken a liking to it. Luckily, Ethernet was capable of downloading their self into the smart phone and expelling Captcha with ease: like a firewall frying a malware coded bug. 

Captcha shifted in her pocket for a moment, as if weighing his options, before delivering himself, and thus the phone, to Gigi. The woman chuckled. Ethernet scared the crap out of the Rotom for an unknown reason. Gigi didn't question it: after all, it worked out great for her. The phone levitated in front of her until she grabbed it, causing Captcha to make a serious of sounds in protest.

Gigi ignored the outbursts as she snapped a quick selfie before posting it on one of her various social media outlets. When Captcha was in a mood he had a tendency of taking shortcuts. She couldn't trust him to stick to her direct orders. Honestly, it was hard to put faith in the Rotom even at his best moments because his main purpose in life was to troll her, or so it felt. So, yeah. No photo taking or caption writing for him today.

With the photo uploaded, she needed a caption. Hmm.
