EVER SO OFTEN, a swarm of venusaur migrating from one forest to another can be witnessed. the ranks are organized, with the older venusaur and ivysaur protecting the small bulbsaur that trek in the middle of the parade. still, this particular march is not of the migratory sort. instead, they seem to be fleeing something...[break][break]

Adrian was nestled into the brush as the Vensaur migrated past him, their hulking, lumbering bodies pushing aside deep-rooted trees, the weight of their feet branding the earth with their footprints.

As Adrian's preparing to strike, brandishing a pokeball, a Vensaur passes directly in front of him, double eyelids blinking in alternate, its slit pupil narrowing on his dumbfounded expression.

~~...Clever girl...~~

He's got like maybe two seconds before an excessive (if warranted) vine whip sends him careening through the thicket, so he whips the pokeball as hard as he can at the pokemon.

^{Yikes... not a fan of dinosaurs. Specifically big carnivores.}

some of these poisonous dinosaurs would indeed be running, running from the large tyrantum that was chasing them down with its rider gripping a pokeball in his hand. "c'mon tyramigo! let's catch one of these guys, not everyday they're bunched up like this!" he was surprised that he managed to get this beast of a dinosaur of his own to even go along with him. then again it was less to actually go out and catch on for their team and more so the t-rex could actually catch one of these beasts for a snack. a big boy like him needed all the nutrients he could get and it costed kazimir a fortune every time he went out to stockpile food to feed for him. still it was probably nice for the large rex to get out and stretch his legs and not terrorize the denizens of meteor falls and instead terrorize this herd of dinosaurs as kazimir hurled a ball at one of them before it became a snack for tyramigo.

The venusaur pack did a mostly fine job of protecting their baby bulbasaurs as they trekked toward their destination. There was only one who got a bit lost along the way, straggling near the back it has gone unnoticed. This bulba was too curious for its own good, stopping to smell every flower and examine every rock. It had no idea of the danger it was in, and I'm not referring to what this pack was fleeing.

The bulba lingered to long on a particular flower, causing the unaware herd to leave it far behind. As it realized its mistake, it begins to trot forward. However, it doesn't get far before another living fossil emerged from the brush to stand in its path. The bulba looked up, its bliss turning to fear as a Tyranitar stared down at it. The bulba ran, but the tyranitar gave chase.

The frantic hunt pushed the bulba deep into the route, and it soon became desperate for a place to hide. Its luck would aid it in finding shelter; to its left it passed a large oak tree with a hole in it. The bulba ran to the tree, diving in just as the tyranitar closed the distance between them. Running into the tree, the Tyranitar gave a quick examination before finding the hole. He bent down, trying to reach in but alas his arms were too stubby and his neck too thick.

His master soon appeared, Oscar threw his arms up as he watched his pokemon struggle. "What the fuck is the problem? Just grab it!" The Tyranitar known as Pain glared at his master, and in a rare act of defiance he wiggled his arms to illustrate his struggle.

Oscar groaned, "Fine I get it just like--take your time I guess. But also hurry up." Pain sighed and returned his attention to the tree.

side-eyeing the guy yelling at his tyranitar, mcflurry just barely pops out of the bush she was hiding from, her camo hat doing absolute wonders for her ability to hide and wait for an opportunity.

unfortunately, the ARCTOZOLT to her side trying and failing to be just as stealthy was, uh. also there. trying to hide its tiny upper body in the bush and failing, mostly because of its gigantic lower body.

however, a shadow starts looming behind the duo. mcflurry slowly turns around, and the arctozolt follows, looking like a deer in headlights.

mcflurry's heart drops as a gigantic venusaur with a bulbasaur on its head glares at her menacingly. she can feel its breath on her nose.

there's a screech and a blizzard and another blizzard and a halfway thrown poke ball. the swarm marches on.

Maybe it was a mistake she’d skipped on bringing Ariadne back, but there was a chance for redemption now.

However, Izumi had no idea why or where the herd of Venusaur were running off to. They surely looked like they were in a hurry running away from something—or someone, she wasn’t sure.

She thought she saw one of them, a little yellow around the edges, but, well…

If Josh wasn’t going to get one, maybe she could get one and give it to him? Who knew?

They also looked like they were running like a bunch of slowed-down velociraptors, but whatever—she took aim with an empty Pokéball and hoped for the best.

selena has been here before. whenever she prefers land travel over corvi-cabs, this is the only way to reach lilycove from the region’s western side. this is where she visits Alexei Ivanov in his town whenever she wants to hang out with the fellow gym leader. but just like her previous strides in route 119, there is something off with the recent swarms of pokémons. the purple parade of grass dinosaurs look threatened rather than secure, and it’s least of the things that are telling about what’s wrong.[break][break]

several other trainers stumble upon the horde of venasaurs as well, trying to get past. as for selena, she wants to know what’s happening with them.[break][break]

Silence holds their position neutral as they overlook the cliff-side. Although every species of Pokemon is different, most of them follow the same behaviors. Years of hunting down various litters makes it painstakingly obvious that this migration isn't natural. The urgency behind their step doesn't match with the measured pace that comes from their seasonal pilgrimage. They're more on edge than when the weather cycle sped up last autumn.

"What is it?"

His Zygarde never quite barks out in question but the canine remains on edge. The stiffness of its stance shows a great detail of attention, highlighted with how the dog's ears remain pointed. It can sense what he cannot and Fernando calls it in. Chances are, something's afoot.

Down below, some other Pokemon come into contact and a shuffle ensues. While he doesn't quite step in, a well places Pokeball abruptly breaks it up.

His last attempt at a swarm ended in failure, though his companions were quite thrilled to see so many of a specific Pokemon in a given place. Today ran along the same lines, but this was a different beat. Aside from the fact Richelieu bounced about in his arms because of the earth trembling, the impacts were frequent. ALmost rampant even! Polite soon saw the cause, as a herd of Venusaur was traveling through with haste in their step. Thinking that this would be a great addition to the team, Polite moved to reach for a ball in the liner of his vest. Instead, he was greeted by a Pokeball floating into his gloved hands. Richelieu nodded in support, to which Polite honored her gesture by throwing a ball the best he could at one of the Pokemon!

There had to be a reason these swarms of pokémon were appearing in such large numbers and all during the same season. The gassy gathering of toxicroaks and croagunks seemed to be an anomaly but here, some mere days later a gathering of Venasaur en multiple crowded the traveling route of 119 just outside of fortree.

He'd had his fun at the Ren Faire, an amazing time he'd be repeating as soon as he could.

Now on his way out he'd seen this.

The moved in a specified path at least; not loitering in their own gunk like the frogs had. Elders in the front and back babes to the middle of the pack. From atop his own venusaur Senon watched carefully feeling nostalgic for his youth and all the memories in Kanto that involved the bulbasaur evolution line.

Breaking rank one of the bulbasaur trotted over to him, seemingly curious about the Venusaur that probably didn't quite seem like venusaur. As experienced as he was with transformation, his ditto couldn't fool everyone. Giving the bulbasaur a rub at its head, earning the attention of a venusaur passing by at the tail end of the line it eventually ran off to get back in the group with the others, looking back at him with a curiosity a couple of times as it ran away.

Far be it from him to not pet a cute little buddy curious about the world. He was still lucky none of the venusar flipped out and attacked. Bulba, Ivy and Venusaur were never a problem for his original Charizard but Senon couldn't help but think of how aggressive and furious dinosaurs and dragons could be.

Erin watches the procession from the quiet comfort of a grassy hill. She's forgotten what it's like to gush over something, years forcibly taken from her, and her feelings are at odds. Athena accompanies her today, on the brink of dozing off while sprawled over her trainer's lap. Petting the vulpix's curls soothes her perhaps as much as it soothes the pokémon.

[attr="class","spiral"]An interview outside, warmed by the sun and refreshed by the open air. What a unique idea that's been proposed hundreds of times; but Evangeline doesn't complain. She never complains. Just smiles her pretty smile and goes along with the journalist's whims. They're in the middle of the third asinine question about how she's settling into her new life in Hoenn when a light rumble and the sound of a few distinct cries pulls everyone's attention momentarily from their talk.

"Ah, would you look at that," the interviewer gasps and Evangeline lazily follows his sight line. Then she gasps too. She feels a flicker of genuine excitement in her chest and for her moment her smile is very real.

"Oh! Venusaur! And so many of them!" without a word she begins to walk away from her seat in the pretty little cafe to approach the stampede, "What a lucky day, oh if I could just . . ." She kicks of her shoes and breaks into a run towards them. Her head races with trivia. The species isn't well known for their poison, but like any Pokemon their toxins aren't anything to shrug at. If she could just get a touch, but the herd is so thick! It's too dangerous . . .

Once she feels the familiar smooth surface of a Pokeball she quickly plucks it up and throws it into the crowd. If she manages to snag one, sampling its poison won't be a problem at all.

Skyler's stalking through the dense forested area when she hears a scream somewhere to her right. The blonde is disoriented, looking around at all the trees and trying to make sense of what surrounds her. The map in her hands is of no help since she's been lost for a few hours - she has no idea where she is on it.

She runs a hand through her blonde hair in frustration, the Altaria by her side humming a melody, clearly enjoying the stroll through the forest - unlike his trainer. Honestly, take the ocean away from Skyler and she's hopeless.

Maybe she should consider investing in a gps?

As soon as this thought occurs to her, there's a shuffle of movement behind her and she turns around to see more plants. Moving plants. Huge ass moving plants and two glaring eyes that focus on her.

Well, shit.

Skyler immediately scrambles back, and a DRAGON PULSE sweeps past her shoulder as Chorus senses the threat and reacts. Chorus screams out a war cry, made all the less intimidating due to the fluffy wings and - general adorableness. Still, he tries.

The sailor pops up behind the dragon type and shucks a pokéball in the Venusaur's general direction.
