Yggdrasil had evolved to save Josh's life from the Roaring Moon, the newly-evolved Grotle's BULLDOZE giving the beleaguered Gym Leader a chance to escape. Taking full advantage of it, he rolled Janus' Poké Ball to the other side of the stunned dragon, the two juxtaposing via ALLY SWITCH. Once he had recalled his Pokémon, everyone was on the other side of the dark-type.

Just as the wild regained its senses, Josh swapped to Blinky, blood dripping from multiple orifices within the Gym Leader's skin as he mounted up. He left a trail of blood behind, which let the Roaring Moon trail them both for a time. It couldn't keep up with the super speedy Jolteon, the completely fresh electric-type able to outlast the wounded pursuer.

By the time he caught up to Bibidi and El, their assailant was nowhere in sight. "Thanks for the save, El. I thought I was gonna bite it in there. Those new Pokémon are so dangerous. I caught one of them myself, and it took months to break him in. We can't let a Pokémon like that escape the cave system, though. It's gotta be caught or killed." That was not the Ranger speaking within him, but the Gym Leader side of him. The combat warrior a Gym Leader was supposed to be. "For now, though, let's head back to Fortree and regroup. I don't think Pokémon healing alone is gonna..." he trailed off, slumping in Blinky's saddle and looking like he was going to pass out at any moment.

The escape had been a hectic and dangerous one - a chase that, though the two were able to lose, was capped off with the distant roar of a dragon frustrated at having lost its prey.

El shuddered, as that call echoed through the tunnels. Though the logical part of them knew that they weren't in any danger anymore, there was still that sense of fight-or-flight adrenaline, that left their hands shaky and unsteady.

As Josh spoke though, El perked up - taking in a deep breath to steady their nerves. "Y-yeah!" They called in response to his thanks. "I think... I think that Yggy's the one you should be thanking, though." They added with a soft chuckle - an attempt at a bit of humor, to lighten the mood. She was in her pokeball by now, of course - but... That was something that could be resolved another time.

Even with this though, Josh needed some care. As he began to slump, Bibidi was there to help steady him - and El was immediately at his side, too. Even if Josh needed more specialized medical attention, they at least sent out Akero to have her help ease the pain and bleeding - to stabilize him. "We... We'll figure something out, when we get back." El spoke with a nod. The Roaring Moon was not something that could be left alone - especially if it was to blame for the displaced Glimmora. "Just, uhm, rest for now - Bibidi will take us home."

Fortree was only a Teleport away, after all - and once Josh wasn't about to keel over and the excess pokemon were recalled, the Alakazam was happy to bring the two home...
