there is a note accompanying the wayward Pokéball; which had only arrived at the Psychedelic Chateau just outside Evergrande City several weeks after the holiday season had ended. The note is postdated to December 27, 2023:

‘Hello Miss Desiree (oh god why do I sound so weird writing this so formally?!),

Color me surprised when I found out you have a gym of your own! Granted, it’s in the Minor League but still… I believe you can bring it further to greater heights!

(Plus with a name like that I can already take a good guess what happens in your matches!)
