Soft steps upon tiled panes led her into the inner workings of Evergrande- a place, unlike many of the destinations she recently called her own, that led her to indulge upon safety in the days of amethyst chains. A tracksuit embroidered with depictions of a lone volcano with its billowing silt and pyroclastic flow took the place of the fineries she often frequented. It had not been long since the molten flow continued downward more than ever before, or at least, that she had been able to witness.[break][break]

She could not stop staring at it from the fields that rested below, watching the fiery sludge singe the flora and reduce it to lifeless ash. Watching, longing for the same grace that had been bestowed unto her would fall upon Mt. Chimney; if only there was a spirit with a resemblance of an onion to revert time just enough to save the minimal fallout, too. The thought that she was more fortunate in the tree's bends was a peculiar thought to ponder.[break][break]

Was it to not allow a thing to deprive her of proving herself to the league, that which she wished for since the day the wounds of her father's knife closed and had been cloaked? Or was it nothing but a glimmer of fortune shining through the dark, allowing her to catch it within her eyes solely through being in the right place at the right time?[break][break]

".. Miss Morningstar?" her head tilted to the side as she waited, albeit some minutes early, ".. oh, sorry about that."[break][break]

It was someone else. Twirling a strand of pink through her tattooed fingers, she waved off the embarrassment that came with getting a tad too excited. But with the chuckles she had received when it came to bringing up a pretty, frilly dress and the gift-wrapped box that sat beside her in the arms of a Lilligant, how could she not be?[break][break]

A beautiful distraction from all the hurt- two Pidoves with one stone. Three, if Freya was to even simply find humor in the delicately crafted attire that rested within the cutesy cube.

she has barely slept. she has eaten because tsubaki ensures she has eaten. with kyle gone, the threat of an attack from rocket is imminent. there are too many cities to fortify, too many people to protect, and too many duties that need to be carried out. and she is but one of a handful trying to keep ever grande together.

there is a somber air surrounding ever grande. freya had almost called off the training session with desiree, but now more than ever do they need trainers fit for the fight ahead.

running several minutes late after their latest council meeting, freya has a cold cup of coffee in hand by the time she finally rounds the corner. she blinks when she sees desiree, checks her watch, grimaces, and apologizes as she approaches.

"hope you weren't waiting long. let's get started." pleasantries are not top of mind as she opens the door to the training room that currently houses diancie.

The prominence of the sorrow that coursed through the streets was devoid of all the fantasies she had sought, all that she had dreamed of falling upon the shoulders of the world. It was a habit of hers to chase distractions, though the directness of the dragon keeper led her to keep the gift box tucked behind her purse; some things could not be helped with kind gestures and pleasantries, not anymore.[break][break]

Just dedication and furthering of preventative measures; and in a way, the misfortune of the present had interwoven with the dread that had befallen her past, the things that led her to seek the ability to now stand beside her newfound counterpart.[break][break]

"It's alright, with everything that's been going on," she said softly with a partial smile, gathering her things and reinforcing her physical refinery, habitually, ".. I hope it hasn't been.. too nightmarish here, for you. I've been spending time in the forest.. since, you know."[break][break]

There was not an inkling in her mind that led her to believe they existed on the footing of war, at least, against forces that bore the will of the flesh and the human psyche- unbound by the toxic chain. Maybe then, she wouldn't yap like she always did.. but then, if she was left to experience her thoughts for too long without the voice of another, she would have to navigate the grim darkness of paranoia all the same. Her focus lay on the cosmos rather than those bearing terrorist insignia, blissfully ignorant but starry eyes opened.[break][break]

"Let's." She nodded, following behind her with graceful yet hesitant strides. From the cap of a following Hatterene, donning an ethereal veil of a mushroom, PSYCHIC TERRAIN wafted around them amidst their approach- such a fairy craved release, regardless of power existent in the veins of its opponent. In the trees it once existed ruthlessly, exacting the will of the light in the forest without hesitance. Now was not the time to fall into the fear of the flames that lick the world, not after all it had been made to endure.

once they're through the door, she raises her coffee to her lips and assesses desiree's pokemon, noting with some interest a tucking of something in the teravolt artist's purse. she doesn't dwell on it, thinking it a mega stone or some other combat device to help against the rock princess that awaits them at the far end of the room.

the legendary (thankfully) waits where it usually stays, lifting itself up into the air at the sight of the two trainers. it cocks its head at desiree and then giggles amicably, waving a small gray hand in greeting.

the pokemon taking an offensive stance in front of it makes it twirl in a circle; the brilliant diamond glittering on its crown glows and fractures of light glance off of it, spinning around it in a diamond storm.

"what legendaries have you found yourself up against, desiree?" she says, cutting her gaze away from the pokemon and to the other woman.

It seemed so sweet. Naturally, at the sight of the legendary creature and its glimmering fractals, she could not help but feel the tiniest bit envious at the beauty that it wove between its gemstones and beyond- in the realm of pink, it was clear that she had a contender at being the prettiest one in the room.. even if she had some competition already when it came to the councilwoman. Blushing ever so slightly, she returned the whimsical wave with one of her own and a bow.[break][break]

Shooting a glance at Freya with starry eyes, those that had been partially dilapidated, she wished to read the reaction of her counterpart as a means to bring comfort. Though she had been acquainted with a few pokemon that could have and were deemed weapons of mass destruction, it was difficult for Desiree to process standing in the presence of one that she had sought out. And, all the more, one that did not exhibit hostility at the first glance. Having feared creatures of this nature for so long, those that existed as depictions and ruthless in her cosmic nightmares, it was just so.. strange.[break][break]

"I'm sure my list is incomparable to yours," she said softly, eyes honing in on the pink diamonds it had weaved around its body, ".. a Heatran, Hoopa, Kyurem.. and if you count the paradoxes that resemble the swords of justice and legendary beasts, a few of those, too.."[break][break]

She did not wish to underestimate the pink, much like so many had underestimated herself due to her appearance alone. The Lilligant remained behind its trainer as the Hatterene took to the diamond storm, bright, alien-like fairy eyes obscured by the dazzling light. Popping of the forest witch's disguise was nearly immediate, but the sheer determination brought upon in its youth and beyond was far from faltering like its psychic array of lights. It was a habit of the fairy's to go and go until it could not any longer. Kicking up MAGICAL LEAVES, it sent them in waves in an attempt to catch the diamonds and cut through like ivies growing through stone.[break][break]

"They're all so fearful, no?"
