[nospaces] [attr="class","sbody"] [attr="class","ihead"] TOTEM TOWER [attr="class","aname2"] sootopolis gym [attr="class","ipad"] GYM INFORMATION[break][break] [break][break] as the silver spire was being restored to its previous glory, some changes had to be made, since the complete appearance of the castle had been lost with the passing of time. thus, as Balder Schwartz took the seat of gym leader, he directed the modifications so that the central spire reflected more the needs of his gym. [break][break] called the totem tower, it replaces the central tower of the castle. almost as high as the sky pillar, it houses many facilities. at the top stands a gigantic battle arena with some exquisite functionalities that allow reproducing certain environments. in each and every room of the tower, certain items have been placed, said to boost the power and potential of certain creatures. [break][break] [attr="class","ipad"] LAWS OF THE TOWER[break][break] - LAW OF PROTECTION. anyone who seeks to enter these doors shall be cared for and ensured their safety for the duration of their stay, no matter who they may be. However, if it is revealed that the person under protection is guilty of a crime of sort... While no physical harm will be made, the suspect will be interrogated to know the story and may possibly be handed to the authorities. This is valid for both Humans and Pokemons. If the Pokemon fled from their owners to seek refuge in the tower, they will be cared for until the trainer proves he is suitable.
- LAW OF GRAVITY. Extremely large pokemons (Wailords and such) will be restricted to battles outside the castle and at the top of the tower, where suitable installations have been installed for such scenarios.
- LAW OF POWER. Items of power have been placed in the many rooms and surroundings of the castle. These items have been attuned to specific pokemons and others will not benefit from their boon. More information to be seen below
- LAW OF HONESTY. While it is dubious that any would attempt to, we ask for everyone's honesty as they partake in the challenges. Stay true to your team and follow the rules accordingly. Failure to do so will result in expulsion and banishment from the tower for a set duration of time.
- LAW OF POSSESSION. In this gym, it is possible to encounter wild pokemons. Capturing them is authorized, but please refrain from capturing those outside of your challenge rooms. You can capture only one per room.
- LAW OF CREATIVITY. Once you begin your challenge, we ask of you to be creative in your attempts. While we are indeed reviewing your batle capacities, one must also be able to show creativity and knowledge in the face of adversity. Thus, no assistance will be provided during the challenges. [OOC: In short, this means that all totem challenges against totem pokemon and wild pokemons are to be one-shot posts where you clear the challenge (Either by defeating the pokemon(s) or creatively escape the battle and push on), similar to a wild thread post. Only the final fight will be in PvP format. That is, unless the player requests otherwise.]
 - LAW OF ORIGIN. All challenges will be initiated by the Gym leader, in order to confirm the conditions and ensure that the challenger knows what awaits him/her/them on their quest to victory. Unless discussed with the Gym leader previously, no Challengers can simply enter the gym and hope to face Balder directly (If a challenger starts the thread, Balder Schwartz must have liked the post to consent).

[break][break] [attr="class","ipad"] FACING THE KAHUNA[break][break] Known as the standard gym challenge in Hoenn As stated by the rules of the region, one may apply for this format to have a simple and straightforward battle. The battles will be 3 pokemon each in a one vs one format, switching allowed and no special effect upon the beginning of the duel. Small posts will be allowed for this format. [break][break]
[break][break] [attr="class","ipad"] CHALLENGING THE TOTEMS: BEGINNER[break][break] One of the non-traditional variant, based upon the island challenges of Alola. This option is reserved for trainers that have begun travelling this region and wish for guidance and experience a gym battle [Under 15 infamy and/or less then 35 posts]. The challenge will proceed as follow:[break][break] - Totem War: The challenger shall face a pokemon that represents one of the totem animal. Said pokemon will have its powers boosted, making it more challenging. Said pokemon will, some times, summon a wild pokemon to its aid. You will be able to capture it. Certain requirements may be placed at the moment of the fight to help in defeating the creature. [This part of the fight will generally require a single post where the player follows some guidelines to defeat the totem pokemon. Similar to event posts]
- Facing the Kahuna: At the top of the tower, you will face the Kahuna of the Totem Tower: Balder Schwartz . During this fight, he will strive to guide you in how to act as an appropriate trainer and handle certain situations. Expect some changes in the environment to cause some challenge. The trainer will be able to decide if he wants to fight in a special manner as well (2 pokemons against 2, 3v3, etc).
[break][break] [attr="class","ipad"] CHALLENGING THE TOTEMS: SHAMAN KING[break][break] This is the true non-traditional challenge. Reserved for those that want a gruesome challenge. By choosing this option, you are prepared to test your limits and see if you have what it takes to challenge the league. The fight to be the Shaman King goes as follows:[break][break] - Breach the gates: Before hoping to stand inside the castle, one must defeat the Guardian Totem that protects the entrance. The guardian will be empowered by one of the power items, seeing his abilities boosted. Said Guardian might summon a wild pokemon to assist him. The wild pokemon will be capturable. Certain requirements may be placed at the moment of the fight to make the situation slightly harder. [Expect slightly more challenging request then those seen in events]
- Find the correct path: Once you have entered the castle, you will be invited (By one of the cute alolan ladies) to choose one door out of four. Crossing the door will lead you to another battle with a guardian, following similar restrictions to the previous fight. A wild pokemon may appear during this fight. The wild pokemon will be capturable.
- Climbing the tower: Depending on the door you selected, you might have to climb the tower from the inside or the outside. There, you will face another guardian, powered by one of those power items, and will follow similar restrictions to previous fights. A wild pokemon WILL appear. The wild pokemon will be capturable.
- Gaining Entrance to the King's Realm: Before you can face the Shaman King, one last guardian remains. Just like previous fights, he will be empowered and certain requirements will be in place. No Wild Pokemon will appear there.
- Facing the king: The final trial. Face to face with Balder, you will battle in a setting that is unfavorable to your pokemons. It can be weather effects or hazard. The battle type will be decided prior to this challenge.[break]
