Of course his opponent won't go down without a fight. In fact, Helios depends on it. His eyes spark with blue flame and the corners of a sharp beak almost appear to be curved in a haughty grin, were such a thing possible.[break][break]

Bullet punches strike, but will they be enough to knock him out? Helios attempts to counter the lightning fast attacks with his legs, a Double Kick attempting to strike back and deflect as many blows as possible.

The wrinkles of a frown appear between her brows, but she just as quickly smoothes them out. Years of PR training are just as effective as botox.[break][break]

"You were suspended, Matias," Luka answers over a sip of her lemonade. "Did you think I wouldn't hear about that?"[break][break]

What pains her more than being out of the loop is not knowing how it had happened, not knowing if she could have helped. Beads of sweat roll down the back of her neck, but whether they're from nerves or the heat is impossible to discern.[break][break]

"I know I'm your manager, but we're friends too, aren't we? You...y-you can trust me with this kind of thing, you know."

The kick lands. An arial assault kickstarts the beginning of a flurry of attacks. Helios takes the opportunity presented by a successful, powerful blow to try and completely overwhelm his opponenent. Rapid-fire punches and powerful kicks rain down on the Scizor, an endless barrage of attacks.[break][break]

Luka watches nervously from the sidelines. This is different from his last battle; more evenly matched. She can tell her father's Pokemon is enjoying himself and though she loves that for him, she can't help worry that he'll overexert himself.

Ripper comes back swinging. Helios is prepared for retaliation, but the resulting blows still manage to knock him back. He grunts, talons digging into the arena dirt in an attempt to stay upright.[break][break]Using the scuffed ground as a springboard, the Blaziken launches himself up into the air, only to come crashing back down with a high jump kick.

Well, might as well ride the wave while it lasts! It's time to attempt yet another difficult trick. But after managing to pull off the Magikarp Splash once before, there's nothing she can't do, right?[break][break]

"Let's go again!" she urges on Mantine, who doesn't need to be told twice. With a whoop and a holler the pair takes off again, attempting yet another Magikarp Splash.

She feels like a golf caddy picking up forgotten balls that others must have left behind while attempting underwater captures. Luka frowns down at her collection, but doesn't give up hope! Surely there'll be more treasure waiting for her on the seafloor.

Eager to try and take the dunk throne again, but not in the mood to actually throw, this time Luka pawns her toss off onto her Vaporeon. She lobs the ball casually into the air and Bella Luna attempts to swing at it like a batter might, her powerful tail making contact- but is their aim any good?[break][break]

Now how on earth is Luka going to top the last round?[break][break]

Without the gimmick of a magically transforming outfit to back her up, what does she have exactly? Her personality? A pretty face? Please. Literally every person in Hoenn is hot- just look at all the sexy hover icons![break][break]

The catwalk is completely flooded by the time she walks again, and a light rain dance continues to mist in the air. But with it comes an idea, inspired in no small part by the Clefable at her side. It's an homage, of a sort, to the last contest they'd performed in together.[break][break]

Luka's smile is sweetly demure as she glides back onstage. Water glistens upon flushed skin, trailing down barely concealed curves, and raindrops collect on her roseate curls like dewdrops on a rose. And, with Cupcake following close behind, Luka takes her first step atop the water.[break][break]

A light screen projected just below the surface provides a walkway, and with it the illusion that she's floating upon the flooded stage.[break][break]

Luka tiptoes down the runway like a petal on a stream. Light as any fairy, pretty as a peach, dainty steps carry her weightlessly towards the crowd. The gossamer fabric of her ensemble ripples elegantly behind her, soft pastels evoking the colors of a summery dawn.[break][break]

She takes a gliding step. She twirls. Wedge sandals have been replaced by bare feet and ribbons crisscrossed around her ankles, allowing her to point her toes as delicately as a ballerina en pointe. Soft ripples follow in her wake, and the light screen underneath casts her body in an ethereal light.[break][break] As she reaches the end of the catwalk, she hopes she doesn't look too silly. The fabric around her forearms flutters as they raise and lower in a sweeping curtsey, with Cupcake following suit (far more adorably). Only able to keep the collected act up for so long, Luka pivots slowly and makes her way back, lest the performance be sullied by an expression going silly with embarrassment.[break][break]

Wait...she did it?[break][break]

She did it! There's much jubilance and a happy slapping of fins as Luka and Mantine celebrate. They did the trick perfectly! They're unstoppable![break][break]

Well, mostly. The human body has it's limits, and she's hungry...[break][break]

After a quick break, however, Luka returns to an eagerly waiting Mantine. Her face softens at the sight of their little flappy fins waving at her...did they really wait for her to get back? Without missing a beat, Luka dives back into the water and clambers back on their back, and the pair set off again to attempt the Starmie 720 once again.[break][break]

Admittedly, she feels a bit better about trying to hit Callan Young than another cute and innocent girl again. But that's not enough to wipe the sheepish smile off her face as she draws back, aims, and throws.[break][break]

Into the water, out of the water. Grabbing stuff...yeah. It's basically a routine now! Luka hums as she polishes off her latest find, another ball joining the other in her little goodie bag. All the stuff she's gotten so far though has been rather benign...here's hoping her next dive will pull up something great!

Dunking a crusty like King would've at least been poetic justice, or something. Now, it's just a bummer. Though not enough to stop her from rolling the ball in her palms, squaring up, and chucking it at the target as hard as she can![break][break]

Deep breaths. In, out...okay! Luka tightens the strings on her bikini top and practices her smile one last time.[break][break]

Honestly, the walk is the most frightening part. So many eyes on her...[break][break]

When it's her turn on the runway, Luka channels everything she's learned from contests and modeling for Martín del Mar. Her strut is steady, her smile wide and honey-sweet. She does her best to exude more confidence than she feels- honestly, this kind of competition is embarrassing.[break][break]

Her Clefable hops and skips behind her, also dressed in a frilly little swimsuit. It's rather funny that their roles are reversed this time around. But even though the attention is on Luka for now, Cupcake has a part to play in their performance as well![break][break]

For a moment, the blazing sun overhead is replaced by a sparkling moon. Cupcake's Moonlight casts pale moonbeams down on Luka as she continues to walk down the runway. The lunar wing, safely tucked away between the hibiscus adorning her sunhat, begins to glow.[break][break]

And as Luka walks, her entire body becomes wreathed in a sparkling golden light. Beneath it, her plain white swimsuit is transformed. Ivory turns to pinks and golds and baby blues, soft ruffles tickling her thighs and celestial jewelry cold against her skin. A soft, glimmering sheen trails behind her and eventually fades into the warm summer air.[break][break]

It might be a bit over-the-top, but her experience with Pokemon contests has taught her the importance of first impressions.[break][break]

At the end of the runway she twirls, a gossamer cover-up swirling around her. Gold flashes at her sternum, drawing the eye to- well. It is a swimsuit competition, after all. Remembering her poses from cutesy POG bank advertisements, Luka winks and blows a kiss towards the crowd, giggling as she and Cupcake turn to make their equally glamorous exit.[break][break]
