hat was a fascinating experience. truly a fascinating experience. and so they continued onward down the path. he was asked a question by his comrade, cait, only to be caught off guard by a male meowstic staring off into the distant. he sat upon the ledge. staring without a care in the world. a questionable head tilt wondering just what was wrong with the little guy.

"hold that thought..." he'd run off to check on the pokemon. "hi there! is everything alright?" the psychic remained still. "ooh, how quiet..." he stated with curiosity. "hey! anyone home?" the pokemon, still, didn't respond. "...it's so frozen." pulling out a pokeball, and enlarging it, he'd say, "i'm gonna catch it!" and thus smacked the ball atop of its head. it was, then, absorbed by a beam of red energy. there was no fighting. no argument. he just captured it.

the pokemon was just...broken.

returning back to stand next to cait, he'd casually say, "i think i'm gonna take this little guy and see if Rhian McArthur can figure out whats wrong with it. it doesn't move or anything." little did he know, the meowstic was merely in deep thought, wondering as to where its lover, or rather other half, could be. "anyway, where were we? lilycove is bustling as always. it's hard to find the time to sleep when dealing with trainers all the time though." a big sigh. he'd raise his right hand. swinging it as if he were trying to swipe away a fly. "it's not that i don't enjoy the job or anything, but it'd be nice to deal with someone who's...exciting; a trainer that can really appreciate the work i put into creating the challenges for my gym and not give up so quickly."

urning to face fernando, he'd respond, "i mean there pangoro's! the last time i saw one of these big guys was when visiting a zoo!" arms expanded to show how much he enjoyed the zoo. it was rare to see a pangoro in hoenn, so this was the chance of a lifetime. "pangoro's are the evolve form of pancham, as a pancham they tend to follow pangoro's like a henchman; like a child, if they do something bad, you take away their leaf as punishment!" arian, then, proceeded to pull out a small booklet.

"this little guy right here is basically my pokedex. i usually read this on my free time, but i'd like to think of myself as a pokemon connoisseur!" a gentlemanly chuckle. how could he call himself a pokemon fanatic without even knowing anything about half of the pokemon in his book? serious moment. he never broke his intense gaze. listening to her as she, too, resonated with his pain. though, that was swiftly broken the second he uttered an, "eh?" a double blink. "are you sure you're not from mauville?" hand underneath chin. he began to initiate a deep, hard thought. "i could've sworn you were from mauville..." fortree was the last city that crossed his mind. but it made so much sense, how did he get that wrong.

s right cait may have been. it didn't sit well with him that his city had the potential to be attacked. "i didn't experience slateport fully, but i was there assisting with the clearance of its citizens during the battle against rocket." arms folded. his face began to become one of scowl, gritted teeth followed. "it frustrates me that there's a chance my home--the place my mother and father raised me--could be overrun one day." lilycove was the acting hq for the council, and even then he still didn't feel safe.

"there's a reason why i train so hard, why i took on the role as gym leader." faced forward, cerulean hues looked ahead, "only i can protect lilycove. it's my home, and it's my duty to protect the memories and people there. me not being there is just inviting rocket to have a ball; i refuse to allow those irredeemable insects invade the place i call home." each gym leader were seen as a protector and hero of their city. their strength wee acknowledge by the people, by the council.

lone. he stood outside of the mossdeep space center on guard duty. it would seem as though they held more trust in the gym leaders then their own security system. sadly, arian preferred to be off doing other things. huckling. her optimism was a fun one. he wondered if the girl ever once cried in her life. "your love for dragons is genuine, that i can tell!" arian smiled. bending over, he'd search through the grassy field. to no avail he did not find the flower.

hat a prune. he never understood how the women fell for such a man. "you and my brother are definitely businessmen." following behind his mentor. he'd continue talking all the while, "i don't understand the meaning behind a 'calculated risk', and when i told my brother that he gave me a surprise look and laughed." a slight blush sprawled. it was embarrassing to be made fun of when asking one a question. arian legitimately didn't have an understanding behind such a term.

he'd ask, "i don't get it, what's the difference between a natural risk and a calculated risk? you're aware that you're walking into a situation where you might fail or win, right? you've played out the scenario in your head, yeah?" raising a finger with each point. he'd hold two toward fernando, "it's no different then a regular risk where you dive headfirst, all you did was just take the time to factor a little longer on your decision; so what's the point of just not going all-in, why check over your work?" by "check over your work" arian meant why wait? why not just dive headfirst? it was such a confusing term for the male.

aising the ball of his new catch. he'd gleefully turn to face the greenette. "hey, i owe you a new ball and some food at the casino--on the house of course!" think of it as a way to say 'thank you'. standing before them were a claydol and, "a hovering fish?" he watched with shock as the pokemon casually levitated before them. was it the claydol or the fish's doing?

"i've never seen a pokemon like that before; so cool." he spoke with an entrapped gaze. "seriously, never seen a pokemon like that around these parts. do you think they're more of these around here somewhere?" pointing with one hand like a child at the first, and his other arm risen to his chest. arian wasn't sure as to how he should exactly approach the pokemon. of course it wasn't on his list, but it was a levitating fish! "the little ones aren't going to believe me when i tell them about this." arian commented, speaking of his younger siblings.

n unexpected run into rhian was not on his list. "you're a busy gal as per usual." the dapper male commented. haunter watched as a heracross and klefki maneuvered about. he knew that it wasn't the catch for today, and thus ignored the pokemon. light conversation continued.

"i'm just on a hunt. there's a rare sighting of a pokemon i'm in search of, sadly i haven't seen it." a light chuckle. he was embarrassed by his inability to pinpoint its location. "whatever you're working on must be pretty important," arian softly smild, "care to share with us what it is?" being in rustboro must have meant that it involved a collection of minerals, right? it's just an assumption of course.

nd that's the gist of it." speaking with FERNANDO SILPH. arian retold a story one of his hostesses of the casino had told his brother. she was being harassed by some unknown assailant who, at first, seemed nice but continued to ask questions about the whom the current gym leader of lilycove was. "apparently he's been trying to meet with me, but it's not really easy to gain my attention these days with how busy i am. if you're not apart of my gym trainers, the host/hostess club, a general worker of the casino or a trainer looking to challenge the gym, i try to limit unnecessary conversation." an annoyed sigh escaped. "i try to keep contact to a minimum with people, do you know how many people fawn over me the second i step out? it's annoying." [break][break]

being in the eye of attention wasn't all that's cracked up to be. the popularity wasn't something that sparked joy for arian. and now he has some creepy individual messing with one of his girls? "it's one thing to mess with me, but to mess with the workers i consider family? i can't just ignore it. so, i've come to you for assistance in helping me detain this guy and checking him out." currently they were inside of kings dominion's casino, chatting at the bar. an elbow was placed upon the bar top as his chin would firmly rest upon the palm of his hand.
