This place was a sight to behold. It’s architecture rather peculiar for the burnt scarred man. From the towering black prism like skyscrapers, flickering artificial lights, and dark flat streets, it was something he had never seen before other than those fictional movies. Surreal to say the least, a once lively city he presumed now abandoned for reason he wasn’t sure of. Never a good sign. However, the man pressed forward. After all, he was here for a reason.[break][break]

A low grumble of a growl rattled in the massive six foot seven houndoom, intense ruby orbs glared through the rapidash skull she wore over her own. Long arrow tipped tail flickered, catching a scent on the light breeze the washed through the strange place. “Found someone,” the man mumbled in a low tone, his own crimson colored orbs shifted to the direction she stared, “It could be our partner.” Her nose lifted into the air, nostrils flared to scent it out some more before she let out a snort. “Hmmm… Let’s go check it out.”[break][break]

Like always, Maverick held his placid emotionless mask he was well known to hold. Hands shoved into his pockets, casually strolling closer to whatever Azula found. She moved towards what looked like a smaller residential building, the front door wide open as though whoever lived there at one point either left it open or someone was snooping. They both paused several feet outside, Azula letting out another low growl. “Easy,” he told the canine, “Let’s see what it is first.” Taking in a deep breath in hopes he wasn’t falling for a trap, Maverick moved closer.[break][break]

“Hey,” he called out, entering the place and hearing some shuffling in a room near by, “Anyone in here.” Curious, the man moved towards the noises first. After all, it could just be a critter and nothing more. He moved towards the doorframe, unknowing that someone was indeed in there. “Hello-“ A long purple haired woman peered out, violet gaze on him almost instantly. Maverick held his flat expression, though brows scrunched together only to quickly look away. She was getting dressed?[break][break]

“Oh- Sorry. I didn’t know someone was in here,” he started, gaze fell upon the houndoom as she stared the stranger down, “And I know it’s probably none of my business but…. What are you doing?” Was this his exploration partner? Or, just some stranger that was here? Honestly, Mav didn’t expect to actual run into someone.

A few shakes later and the deed, was done. Azula’s muzzle parted, canines clamped down gingerly on the ball lifting it off the ground. She turned, trotting to Maverick as he put a hand out. The canine moved to his open palm, dropping the sphere in his hand. “Thanks,” he mumbled to her, giving her a firm nod as he opened his jacket and shoved the ball with the rest. And just as they closed that encounter, yet another one made its presence known.

Nostrils flared, the hell hound quick to pick up the scent on the breeze. Long arrow tipped tail twitched, body shifted to face the direction the scent was coming from. And just as she did, the purple baby eyes widened when she spotted it hiding behind a near by tree. Her lips lifted, baring her teeth once more. A low grumble of a growl rattled in her cheat, ruby gaze glared through the rapidash skull she wore over her own. “Remember,” the man mumbled to her, his own gaze shifted to the poor baby, “You can not harm them.” A low growl was her response.

Fear was in the wild toxel’s eyes, turning to flee before it surely gets eaten alive. However, Azula wasn’t about to let her pretend escape. She sprang into action, legs flexed with ease as she caught up with the little baby in no time flat. It screamed in fear, the canine managing to pick the baby up by the scruff on the back of the next gingerly enough with her front teeth. It waggled in her jaws, crying all the while. She was quick to bring it back to her master, allowing the man to tap his last sphere onto the creature and sucking it in. Now, they wait for the capture before leaving.

The commotion of capturing the avian seemed to have caught the attention of other wild pokemon. Soon, a wild koffing coughing its way into the scene. Smoke poured out from its holes, grinning all the while. Maverick’s brow rose, shoving the used sphere into his pockets and pulling another. Azula bared her teeth, a snarl ripping through her throat.

The koffing let out a weezing of a laugh, the burnt scarred man tossing the sphere in an attempt to capture the poisonous creature. The ball hit its mark, sucking the creature in and closing behind it. The ball fell to the earth, wiggling in the tall grass. Much like before, Azula trotted up to the sphere and hovering over it with her teeth bared. Maverick couldn’t help the smirk that wanted to tug the edges of his lips, rolling his eyes as he waited.

It’s a job that Cider didn’t take lightly. For him, this was very serious. If not, deadly. Head lifted into the air, nostrils flared in an attempt to location said berries to help those pokemon who need it. A light cool breeze washed over his large form, a sweet scent laced within its particles. The Appleton huffed, moving towards the scent. “I think this one found some,” the young female human volunteer called out, chasing the massive creature.

Soon, several wild berries trees in his sight. He let out a victories cry, the young woman who followed him all the way here grinning ear to ear as she began to pluck the berries off the trees and place them into her basket. Cider moved closer to the tree, using his ability RIPEN to make all the berries perfect for harvest as he slammed his large body into the trunk of the tree. Berries rain down upon them, making the young human giggle and cheer. “Thanks! This is great!” Cider let out a grown, waddling to nudge a berry berries in a pile.

The loud squawking in the sky forced both Maverick and his beloved canine to towards their gaze above them, the houndoom growled bitterly. “Easy,” he called, withdrawing a sphere, “We can’t attack them.” Azula grumbled, refusing to let her gaze off of the bird. The avian let out another boisterous cry out, flapping its wings ferociously at them.

“Hey there,” the man replied to the wild pokemon, a brow rose at it, “Let’s be friends.” The avian cried out, more aggressively now. “Come on now.” It screeched, only to meet a sphere slamming into its face. The ball popped open, pulling the creature in and locking into place. It fell to the ground in a soft thud, wiggling in the tall grass. Azula darted to the sphere, hovering over it with her teeth bared.

It was a sight, that’s for sure. One he never thought he would see in his lifetime. Dead corpse littered the ground, only to have battle warriors trample over them in the desperate hope to win against the other. Mav glimpsed, watching as one side killed the other only to be killed by something else. It was hard to watch.[break][break]

However, it seemed that their leader was opportunistic. Crimson gaze widened in shock as the leader let go and fell to the ground. Mav cursed, refusing to be left behind and not capture a rare creature such as this. So with one last glance at Elaine, the burnt scarred man let go. Unfortunately, his fall wasn’t as graceful as John. In fact, it looked quite brutal. Body fell into the sand right on his bum, the man letting out a loud huff of exhaustion. He groaned, scrambling to get to his feet and following John lead.[break][break]

One of those big muscular bugs came charging at him, all big and scary like. His eyes widened, snatching the mud ball he had and throwing it at the creatures eyes. By some miracle (or pure luck), Maverick hit it. It screamed in pain, thrashing about in rage trying to clear in its vision. Panicking, Maverick plucked the strongest sphere he had launching it at the blinded creature in the desperate hope to catch it.

This wasn’t his first time coming across this creature, nor will it probably be the last. Yet, there was something in the back of his mind telling him to get this one. For a moment though, crimson colored orbs watched the great sunbathing. It’s leaf fanning it. It wasn’t hot, but it still moved its leaf thing like a fan. Then, it spotted him.

Quickly, Maverick threw the sphere at the wild pokemon. The ball hit, sucking it in and locking in place. The ball fell to the ground, landing softly in the dead grass before it began its wiggling processes. Maybe, maybe this is what he was looking for. Something, different.

Maverick held onto whatever he could find for dear life. His crimson colored orbs wide, hearing Elaine Highland but unable to speak. Instead, he gave her a nod. His heart race, fearing the worst. Why? Why does he always end up in these near death expresses? Does the world hate him that much?[break][break]

Soon, the top of the shaft could be seen. However, the platform didn’t slow down. His mouth parted, ready to question its brakes out loud to his comrades. But it reached the top before he could muster the words, the disk flying through the air. The man cursed, frantically scrubbed to get to Tiamat. The platform soon, leaving them flying.[break][break]

It was only after Tiamat (or maverick call out his own flying beast) did the man was able to catch his breath. He swallowed hard, gasping for air as his warm crimson colored orbs flickered over the scene around them. It was their leader who caught his attention, following his gaze to see the strange looking bug beast fighting it out. “Territorial, you think,” the man called out questioning, unsure of what he was really looking at.

It would be rare for Maverick to pass up a canine. Yet, crimson colored orbs watched as the wild yamper darted right past then casting a dried up leave blowing in the wind. Honestly, the lack of motivation has been really getting to him in more ways than one. He knew this, but still let the yamper go and continued his search for something more exciting. Something more, thrilling than an ordinary yamper.
