Maverick kept silent, like he has for most of this exploration. Crimson colored orbs would flickered from one to the other as they spoke, offering small gestures when he felt it was necessary. This was something the burnt scarred man has never came across, nor thought he ever would. His knowledge or expectations were oh so low.[break][break]

It was John Sullivan who reluctantly went first, closely followed by Elaine Highland then of course maverick noah ryder last. He didn’t dare touch anything, recalling his shiny green dragon despite the traps that surely were set up. And as their leader spoke, Maverick couldn’t help but wonder the same thing. It was very strange for all these tombs to be here, almost lined up like some kinda of weird collection frenzy.[break][break]

When prompted, the man aided in opening one of the nearest sarcophagi's lid off. Maverick braced himself not only for the stench that surely would explode from this, but the sight as well. However, there was no such thing. Or at least, not as bad as one would assume anyway.[break][break]

John was the first to speak up, asking them questions he didn’t know the answer too. Honestly, this whole thing was still very confusing and puzzling to him. And in return, the burnt scarred man just gave s shrug of his shoulders before casting Elaine Highland a look to see what she might want to add. Maverick was speechless.

Maverick kept his gaze on the suited man, listening with much curiosity when he explained it to him. “Ahh…” the burnt scarred man mused, a million and a half more questions arose in his brain but didn’t want to press on it anymore than he already had, “I see. I haven’t had a chance to get one yet.” Mostly because, he couldn’t afford it. “That’s good to know.” He wanted to ask why, why did he need it to defend against humans? Although humans are dangerous per say, they can’t breathe fire or electrocute you like pokemon. So why? Why does he need to protect himself against… humans?[break][break]

But before Maverick could say much else, the familiar scaly dragon not dragon moved between him and the suited man. Crimson colored orbs glared at the charizard as it roared in his face, Maverick seemingly unfazed. However, Azula didn’t like it one bit. She was quick to move in front of Maverick, another around of vile snarls and flashing of pearly white came from her. Long arrow tip tail twitched back and forth, much like an angry cat. And in return, the ex gym leader huffed and rolled his eyes.[break][break]

It was the charizards own android of a human that spoke first, apologizing for his creature though his words didn’t seem so empathetic through whatever voice modular that suit used to hide his true voice. “It seems that egos have gotten the best of both of them,” the man mumbled in a low tone, letting out a heavy sigh, “And I’m sure even if I did say no, neither of them would back down.” His gaze fell upon his massive six foot seven hell hound, knowing that she was already too involved for him to convince her to back down. “Sure. Sure.” After all, what’s the worse that can happen? Right?[break][break]

Turning on his heels, Maverick moved back several paces to give them some room. Of course, Azula only continued to stand her ground and refused to let the charizard dominate of her. And once a good distance away, he turned on his heels again to face them. “Alright,” the man mumbled out loud, strongly uncaring for the battle that was about to go down, “Azula. Get over here so we can start this.” For a moment, the canine only glared at the fire and flying type through the beat up rapidash skull she wore over her own. She wasn’t the type to let someone else win. However, a loud clearing of his throat finally made her turn away to retreat to her spot on their pretend battlefield.[break][break]

And once on her side, the canine was quick to turn around and face them. Her lips still lifted, teeth out as she stood on her battling position. Another sigh escaped Maverick, voice casually. “Ready when you are.”[break][break]

He expected her to turn away, to leave him there alone on the beach as soon as she seen him. Especially, she was seeing more of him than most ever does. He wasn’t the type to run around without a shirt, or something to covering up his scars. Most, if not all, would either judge him like he was some kind of hard criminal or a wack job. However as she got an eye full of him, Madeline, or Madd, didn’t give him a stink eye nor bombarded him with questions about them. She just… accepted it. That’s… new.[break][break]

“Don’t worry about it.. Madd,” he replied, tone seemly softer as though he has finally started to relax ever so slightly, “I just got here myself.” It was a lie, but she didn’t need to know that. And as he offered up to sit along the docks, the ginger haired woman seemed pleased about his findings. She even winked at him, forcing Maverick to give an awkward fake smile. It wasn’t that he didn’t like the compliment, it was just strange to hear for him seeing as he normally didn’t receive such things.[break][break]

Pushing through the crowd of people to head towards their destination, Madds head turned to offer up some casual conversation. And for a moment, Mav had to think about it. Because honestly, he was always working. “I try to keep busy most of the time,” he started, suddenly feeling as though he needed to lie and come up with some grand fun things to do in hopes not to sound as boring as he felt right now, “When not working, I simply care for my pokemon and find odd jobs to keep money flowing.” Arceus… He was such a dud, why did she message him on that app?[break][break]

To avoid the temptation to lie to sound more interesting to her, he threw the question back at her. “How about yourself? What do you like to do for fun?”

Several hours had passed since their last encounter with a wild pokemon, leaving Maverick bored out of his mind and his shadow houndoom on high alert. In fact, the burnt scarred man was so bored that he decided to sit on a large rock and chill for a moment. Pulling out his phone, he began to flip through messages. Like always, only messages for jobs or mission he needs to do.[break][break]

It wasn’t until his canine began to growl did the man look up from his phone, casting the shadow pokemon an annoyed look. She bared her teeth at him, causing the man to narrow his eyes at her. It was only when she bark at him did he hear something in his ear. Turning his head, something shifted on his shoulder and made a lose change sound. “What the-“[break][break]

The creature leaped off of Maverick shoulder, attempting to scurry away. “Shi-“ Maverick scrambled, reaching into his jacket to pluck out the last remaining sphere. This was the pokemon he wanted! Valare leaped out in front of the wild pokemon, forcing the creature to freeze at the sight of her. And in the moment of hesitation, the ex gym leader tossed the ball at the tiny coin creature. The ball (somehow) hit the creature despite its tiny body, drawling the creature in and locking in place. Maverick let out a sigh of relief, watching as the ball wiggled in the grass. That was close. He almost lost it.

It was only when the capture was successful did Maverick moved on. Warm crimson colored orbs flickered to the clouds, noting that they had that impending winter blues coming soon. A heavy sigh escaped him, only to have his attention redirected when a dark growl hit his eardrums.[break][break]

His gaze fell upon a wild deino, it stood there just looking at them. Vakare snarled at it, her muzzle slowly starting to let embers seep from between her jaws. The ex gym leader was quick to correct her, casting the shadow pokemon to bare her teeth at him. Of course, Mac glared at the pokemon unwilling to back down. And after a minute or two, she stepped down. Yet another, Maverick tossed another empty sphere at the creature. Being blind, the ball hit it with no issue and sucked it in. Dark types always held a special place in his heart. How could he not catch it?

The pair kept pressing forward, searching for that rare pokemon in the safari zone. It didn’t take long to bump into the next pokemon, the creepy bug pokemon slowly dropping down from a near by tree branch to investigate them. The dang thing looked strange, like some kind of mummified bug in one of the demonic supernatural movie or something. The shadow houndoom however, didn’t like its presence.[break][break]

Lips pulled back, baring her feet at this bug. It didn’t seem to mind them, only continued to watch them as they got closer. And upon closer inspection, the brunt scarred man noted that it was a pokemon he never seen before. How interesting. Reaching into his pocket, the man tossed an empty sphere at the creature. Aim true, the ball trapped the creature and fell to the ground with a soft thud. It wiggled, Maverick waiting for its chime before moving on.

Moving further into the safari zone, crimson colored orbs searched for his target. And as he moved through the tall grass, a familiar cry rang out. Gaze fell upon the wild murkrow, silently admiring the avian as it flew over head. Wasn’t a Crow a sign of a curse or something?[break][break]

Either way, it didn’t matter. The bird flew right pass them, only the shadow houndoom was the one that gave off a snarl. “Leave it,” the burnt scarred man grumbled, motioning with a nod to keep moving, “We don’t have all the time in the world.” The canine grumbled, following after her human while still keeping an eye out.

As soon as the click and chime of a successful capture, the brunt scarred man was swift to pluck it off the ground and shive the sphere into his jacket. The shadow houndoom emitted a series of unpleased grumbles, long arrow tipped tail flickered like an angry cat. “Really,” the man growled at her, rolling his eyes before moving past her, “Come on. Let’s keep moving.” She grumbled again.[break][break]

It didn’t take long for them to come across another safari pokemon, gaze lifted to the familiar sounds of squeaking of bats. To no surprise at all, a zubat has spotted them and now lingered close to investigate them. Vakare lifted her lips, baring her pearly whites at the wild pokemon. “Easy,” the man mumbled to her, knowing darn well that her fiery temper could get the best of her he he let it, “Just leave it. It’s just curious about us.” The shadow pokemon snarled, long tail twitching feverishly back and forth. “Let’s go.”
