the sharpedo was at home in the water, it was where its agility thrived and was its natural habitat. of course it didn't mind working on land if it had to but there was just something about the water that was so much better. using its speed boost to propel itself forward kazimir was on the water's edge running after him to watch his pokemon do this familiar race course on its lonesome. this time would hopefully go a little smoother now that they were "pros" at this now.

Like the Sharpedo, the Dratini preferred racing in the water. Being a young, underdeveloped dragon meant that Silk’s ability to fly was.. lacking. At that was putting it lightly. Her winged ears allowed her to glide but that wasn’t really flying, was it? On the bright side, her ears worked like sails in the water. They also worked a lot like oats, enabling her to quickly drift by any obstacle in her path by with surprising agility.

Meanwhile, Savannah was struggling to figure out how to safely hop from one stone to the next without slipping into the water.

Another to go, at least of what he had planned. Thankfully the speed course was simple in comparison to any of the others so Razz wasn't too worn out. Salem himself having much more energy to spare for the day before he was ready to call it quits. Once again he used PSYCH UP to improve his speed by copying the familiar Sharpedo to speed himself up before racing passed the starting line as the starting whistle blew.

Ground course. Water course. Maybe they had a lava course too, just so Frosmoth could fly over that, too. Then again, apparently sharpedos could fly too, so it was less of an advantage. Still though, she once more followed along, providing Tailwind to anyone who wanted it, as well as those who did not. Frosmoth had absolutely no issue following along.

Violet though, that was another story. Sure, she’d spent a childhood with rangers, cross-trekking through the woods and mountains. But she’d hated that. Having hoped to have escaped it, she had not exactly kept in shape in that regard. Sure, she still had some skills and could hop from stone to stone, but she didn’t like that she was slower at it than that other girl.

a burst of agility was what they needed to get through the first checkpoint and with the other one in sight the rush of even seeing it was enough to give the sharpedo a speed boost from the adrenaline. "don't overwork yourself now. we got plenty of race left to go and we shouldn't wear ourselves out torpedo!" still he shared in his pokemon's interest to finish this as quickly as possible. "but do maybe pick up the pace a bit hehehe."

dratini was flourishing in this water race, achieving great agility. maybe not as much as the speedy sharpedo but it was still a step up from her feeble attempt at flying in the ground race. thoughts fleeted back to her pond in the safari zone. she never knew how much wonder had been out there!

savannah nearly slipped off one of the skipping stones but managed — somehow — to correct herself. clumsiness be darned! she was not getting wet today.

With a nice start now doubled by the Tailwind Salem now didn't need to use his psych up again and could just focus on running. Thankful that there was a land option for pokemon like him who had legs. Though despite having the disadvantage of legs here he could still go just as fast. So when the platforms came and they had to go over the water he was able to keep up with his speed well enough to combined with Psychic to get himself and his trainer over the obstacle.

Oof! She almost lost her balance there. Granted, nobody probably cared about her amateurish performance anyway, but she still took a brief moment to find her balance again. Being a tad bit slower was not as bad as making a fool out of herself in front of everyone, no matter how few were paying attention to her specifically. Heck, it’d just take one person recording her fall and she could find herself the butt of many a joke.

It would only be a brief little breather, just enough to get passed by some guy with some psycho pokemon. Once more, she found herself wondering just where the balancing was in all of this, before once more taking to balancing on these little platforms. At least Frosmoth was steadily accelerating by adding another Quiver Dance to proceedings.

Torpedo was close, so close that he could see it in the distance. He wanted to cross that line once more and declare himself a winner. He had to hurry though, if he didn't he'd be overtaken and that would be worse. "easy bud. I know ya wanna win, so screw slow and steady. Blast on through that line torpedo, let's win this!"

Oh Arceus yes. She could see the finish line. But why did it still look so far away? Drenched in sweat, her parched throat longed for a nice, cold glass of water. Granted.. she could cool off by jumping into the water alongside her Dratini but (a) she didn't know how deep it was and (b) she didn't want to draw any unnecessary attention to herself. Embarrassment already caused her ears to burn red: why had she thought signing up for this would be fun? Thankfully, there was a nice breeze.. even if all it accomplished was assaulting her with more heated air.

Just a little further and they would be done. Salem was pushing himself glad that this day was a bit easier than the others, though that could be due to their not doing as many courses. But with one obstacle down, there was another. Thankfully it was only a slippy floor, and hopefully a simple slide across would be enough before they made that final rush to the finish line.
