With the blunder from the previous try on the Speed trial, Balder requested everyone to remain so they could try once more. This time, he would do this correctly. He'd bring honor to the Alolans. Yanmega, sharing the headstrong-ness of his trainer, unleashed a new Tailwind alongside his own Speed Boost, providing double the buff. he wasn't ever going to get used to seeing a sharpedo hop around on land as the starting gun fired off. maybe it was the effect of the tailwind giving the shark a speed boost that was doing it? unlikely, it was probably the water type's crazy agility that was doing most of the work. whatever the case was kaz was going to let torpedo do his own thing as they ran through the course, at least him jumping around made it easy to get over the hurdle section of the run.[BREAK][BREAK]

psych up gets him as fast as a shark. it's nice to look at the first time, but kyle is unsettled with it with how much he's seen his smeargle do things it shouldn't be able to do.

the tailwind only gets it faster than it should be. kyle is tempted to cheer for it in case that makes it go beyond his expectations, but not using his throat seemed like a better option when they already were running a marathon.

PSYCH UP was the name of this game as Salem had all intention of winning. He may be starting to get tired now after all the rounds but his competitive nature wouldn't let him give up. And he was sure to keep his trainer motivated to keep on going too, especially as Razz was wearing down again despite the rest. All these consecutive rounds did take it's toll. But as the starting whistle blew the two were off again. The Tail Wind definitely a help.

This time, it was do or die. Instead of doing the same blunder as before, Balder decided to use Yanmega's hidden potential. Luckily, Kazimir's Sharpedo was the perfect target for a well placed Psych Up. Both the trainer and the pokemon equally minded, the sweat rolling off their head, the duo began to charge forward at maximum speed.[BREAK][BREAK]

one hoop, two hoops, three hoops. okay now there was something funny about a sharpedo on land if it meant that kaz could see it try to jump through these hoops and actually succeed. "uh great work torpedo, i'll be sure to give you a hell of a snack once this is over okay? you can hold me to that." the shark let out a happy growl as he hopped his way over to kaz's side and the two of them started another sprint to the next checkpoint. this had been one heck of a crazy rerun of this course but it was nice to see that torpedo was actually enjoying himself way more than normal, or other times for that matter.[BREAK][BREAK]

they're fast now so they should be able to complete this thing soon. kyle attempts to chase after his smeargle, who is close to finishing the course, to no avail. the tailwind helps, but it's not enough for him to catch the speed of his pokemon at this point.

With speed at full force right off the bat Salem was able to focus more on the running rather than needing to pay attention to the other pokemon for more boost. As the platforms came along the blue cat uses PSYCHIC to lift both himself and his trainer over the platforms in the water, trying it as swiftly as he could while carrying his trainer to ensure the human kept close rather than leaving him behind in the dust.

Maybe this time, they wouldn't be able to defy the odds and best the scores on the board, but boy did they make progress? Everyone were used to their techniques and their strategies were on point. For one who had joined so late in this event, Balder was able to adapt rather quickly. Things could only get better from here right? Just like the previous course, the Yanmega decided to yeet some Ancient Power to boost its flight and hurl his trainer forward, with the hopes of making a miracle possible.[BREAK][BREAK]

there was the finish line! just one more push an dthe two of them would be done with this hell course! "c'mon torpedo we can do this! let's fucking gooooooo!" he screamed as he made a mad dash towards the line, his sharpedo on the other hand had a different tactic in mind. one that it couldn't believe that it just thought of right now instead of before all of these crazy runs. with a roar he shot forward with an aqua jet so powerful that he knocked kazimir onto his face as he edged towards the finish line before his own trainer.[BREAK][BREAK]
