IN OCTOBER — the aftermath of the war is spent rejuvenating the region. pokemon and trainers are hard at work, repairing natural landscapes, while clearing fields and mountains of macabre remnants. still, pools of poison remain where naganadel and poipole have fallen... until they are cleaned, poor unsuspecting wildlife may find themselves within these toxic traps, forcing them to become aggressive and hostile.[break][break][break]

a renegade muk has made a mess of a football field. pools of poison are scattered about the field and the stench causes your eyes to tear up. in order to stop this muk, charge across the field with your pokemon and avoid the pools of poison.[break][break][break]

Multiple blinks of her eyes keep them clear, but there's not much she can do about the foul smell or taste the acrid air carries. Not much but to deal with the source. She sends out her Donphan as soon as she sets her eyes on the rampaging Muk.

"Rollout," she chokes out between grit teeth. A second after her command the Donphan hops up, rolls into a ball, and starts rushing down the field. ROLLOUT gives it more and more speed as it skirts around toxic puddles and draws closer and closer to its target. Lillian watches carefully, hoping it won't take much more than this to put their target down.

Tatum wasn't sure he could act as a RECEIVER to these dastardly Muk face-to-face. What was he going to grab onto to push back, anyway? But master had put him forward to take on the task anyway. Tatum was admittedly getting used to not being summoned much, but he would do his best here. Perhaps doing so would come with a reward.[break][break]

Digging his feet into the ground and taking a stance, the ape waited for the others by his side to give the signal. The wave of Muk advanced with ominous groans and moans, and the stench hovering around the field like a mist stung his eyes. But, regardless, the Passimian charged forward faster than everyone else when they gave the signal. He'd give the Muk straight across from him the most powerful GIGA IMPACT he could.[break][break]

Not quite so surprisingly, that resulted in the Muk exploding all around him and drenching him in goo.[break]

He's not one for football; back home in Galar, football tended to refer to a different sport altogether, one he was more inclined toward. He's never been to this particular field and has no personal investment in seeing it cleaned of its toxins nor cleared of its now-hostile wildlife, but his reputation with the League was a thing carefully cultivated. Small favours would add up, in the long run, to cast suspicion away from the man most knew as Patrick Cavalli.[break][break]

It's to this end he finds himself amidst the mud and Muk. The aggressive poison-type lashes out at any who get too close, and so Gavin remains at a safe distance as he whistles for his Lycanroc.[break][break]

"Watch the poison," he advises, then gives the signal.[break][break]

Lycanroc charges down the field at his behest, muscles bunching before she springs toward the sentient sludge with a full-force TACKLE. It looks for a moment as if she might be swallowed whole by the ooze, but Gavin breathes easier as he sees her pick herself up and continue the engagement. Excellent.

There wasn't much he could do to stop his eyes from watering.

The moisture in his eyes seemed to be the only thing keeping his eyeballs from melting out.

The reports said it was a Muk causing this miasma to permeate the field. Somehow in the back of his mind even during this serious and potentially hazardous incident he imagined a Muk with a jersey on using its stench and poison laden powers to clear the field of both competitors and teammates.

Sadly he'd only brought Gan and the Turtle Squad with him to dilute the poisons not knowing mobility would be important.

Calling up Wartortle from her pokéball she covered her eyes with her arm waiting for his instructions, he wasted no time giving them all things considered.

He pointed her to end of the field. "RUSH THE ENDZONE!" To even speak was taste the burn on his tongue. Watching the elegant reptile take off without him he called out to her in correction. "RUSH ME TO THE ENDZONE!" He could barely cough and cackle out his words. "USE TACKLE!"

Hopping on her shell she easily carried his weight to run him to the goals like it was the gamepoint.

Fanning the both of them and splashing their faces with water he worked with the other trainers to clear the stinging air, vaguely aware this would be one of the last times they dealt with the direct fallout of the attack from the megaloploans.

Voltorb is not very familiar with its trainer, as she rarely bothered to send it out of its capsule. It is even less familiar with this treacherous, poison-riddled terrain. It looks here and there, seeking answers with its eyes rather than relying on Katherine to guide him through it all.

And yet, she still opts to do so. She has little confidence in the electric-type just as he had little in her.

”TACKLE. Make it fast and avoid the poison.”

Well, it doesn’t have to - but if it won’t? It’s not her funeral.
