Fernando adjusts his flashlight once more as they descend deeper into the sewer. The smell proves noxious but his MISTY TERRAIN helps mitigate the stench with the floral scent of Slateport’s tropical beach. The further they delve the deeper the water gets until it reaches ankle level. Thankfully, combat boots keep his socks dry and his clothes clean. Who knows what toxic chemicals and waste is mixed into the water.

With his free hand, Fernando keeps his hand on a Pokeball on his holster.

When the rangers told him he would be given aide he wasn't too surprised by the news. It always happened, the thing that shocked him was the fact that apparently it was Fernando Silph that was aiding him. Didn't the man have a company to run why be doing things like this? A question that he wouldn't dare ask out loud. So he just joined the man as they navigated the sewers, flashlight on his shoulder to help with lighting with Salem on his other shoulder. Originally the Meowstic was going to provide MISTY TERRAIN to help with the poison yet someone the other had it handled. [break][break]

"Well enough, Salem already has the type advantage and I used to specialize with them for awhile," he answers professionally. Salem is quick to interrupt them though as his ears perk up as he pointed in a direction after hearing something, Razz following suit trusting his partner's senses.

It’s a vague reference to the region’s Poison Patrols but anyone worth their salt will recognize which Pokemon he’s talking about. The recent plague has infected the local wildlife and their abilities have compounded to slowly destabilizing the ecosystem. Venturing straight to their den is bound to stir up the same amount of trouble.

For now, Fernando follows after Razz, using his light to expose any blind spots his shoulder light may not cover. “What is it,” he questions, unable to sense the same disturbance.

"Of course, Rangers have been briefed on the troubles going on which is why I brought him first for defensive in case anything happens before we can get another out," he reassures trying to show the other that he has thought ahead and wanted to give the people he worked with a good rep. "I was planning misty terrain as well but you somehow have that handled?" he adds in with a more questioning tone clearly unsure of how they were doing it. He figured some prototype machine Silph Co. was working on but he clearly wasn't sure. [break][break]

"Salem says he heard them this way," Razz answers as he went deeper in the direction the Meowstic pointed. The STENCH was definitely growing. The strength of it worrying him some because he wasn't sure if it just a pokemon with a strong Stench ability or if there were just many of them. Salem waves his arm to have them stop before pointing, Razz noting the tail end of a Grimer turning a corner as their voices became louder. Looks like they found the den. Now how to proceed best.

[attr="class","spiral"] “Indeed. I’m a bit special,” he says jokingly, forcing laughter in order to carry their small talk alongside the hollowed tunnels of plumbing. It’s mostly to create noise to help stir any lurking Pokemon out from hiding and bring out the root cause of the issue.

Fernando follows him in earnest, tapping one of his Pokeballs to release his Shaymin Skye Form. The Pokemon soars in the air for a quick second before it barks in protest of the noxious smell. It’s too distracted to continue flying and perches itself on his shoulder, its flower growing darker as it starts to filter out any fumes.

“You catch that,” Fernando snaps as the brief sight of a Grimer escapes his vision. He taps another Pokeball and his trusted Kecleon comes out as well. “Let’s move.”

"Is it some sort of tech?" The ranger finally asked as the traveled the way Salem pointed before finally spotting the last part of a Grimmer. At other's order Razz already called Sabrina out of her ball. Glaring at him for summoning her in the sewers of all places. "Not the time," is his only comment to her as his face gives away this was a mission that needed to be done. With a pout she agreed as the three went foward to see the large group of Grimmer. [break][break]

"Keep out of the water if you're able!" Razz is quick to warn the other as the Ranger gets onto a dry spot before whistling at his cats. With the use of PSYCHIC Salem knocks a group into the water before Sabrina follows up with a CHARGE BEAM to electrocute the group and knock them out. Hopefully the other did as warned to avoid being shocked himself.

[attr="class","spiral"] Fernando answers his question with actions instead of words. He brings his hands up, brandishing his palm in a show of MISTY TERRAIN as the fog expels from his gloved hands. It isn't an outright answer but Razz will be able to tell that Fernando can actually manipulate and expel the MISTY TERRAIN that surrounds him. And, in return for this information, he gets a glimpse into Razz's own history.

At the other's behest, Fernando looks for any protruding pipes or other footing that'll prevent him from touching the water. When nothing becomes obvious, he scales the walls, holding onto some of the pipes in an effort to avoid what he can only assume to be an electrical attack. That would explain the avoidance of water as well as why Razz was quick to jump for a patch of land that wasn't directly touching the water.

"Bring them down," Fernando orders nonchalantly. From a distance, his Shaymin fires off several AIR SLASHES while his Kecleon sends its SHADOW SNEAK to strike from the darkness. Although the Grimer are numerous in number, it doesn't take much for two experienced trainers to handle wild Pokemon.

The ranger was more than a little confused when the other quite literally created the MISTY TERRAIN on his own. He'd always heard of some extortionary humans who could pull off crazy feets that defy human logic. Most he figured were from the aide of pokemon, but this was... yeah he didn't have any clue what it was. And if he wasn't busy having to hide behind the corner to avoid multiple SLUDGE BOMBs headed their way he may have asked more. Mission first, questions later. [break][break]

They may be weak but their numbers were definitely annoying. With the first group out cold Salem's eyes continued to glow blue as once more he used PSYCHIC to grab hold the rest of the Grimer ensure they were defenseless against the on coming attacks from Kecleon, the grass dog, and afterward Sabrina who used PSYBEAM to blast the sluge pokemon. "Think that's it?" Razz asked as the next group went down, the ranger scanning the tunnel with his flashlight to see if there were any more.

Fernando raises his hand to gesture at them to quiet down. Once silence takes hold, the lack of movement or groans cements their answer. "Good job," Fernando mentions in passing, unhooking several Pokeballs. With little remorse for the Grimer's actual well-being, he starts to capture them one by one.

"If you want one, claim them now." Otherwise, he'll happily scoop them all up. What he doesn't end up using will always be a useful on the market or in a League armory. Once their clean up is done, Fernando smiles to himself, hidden in the sewer's darkness.

Being able to cull the herd and pick from the litter always puts him in a good mood.

"That was... surprisingly easy," he can't help but comment after the silence, a lot of the time it felt like more work was put into these missions. Part of him figured it might be because his partner helped make things easy. "Umm thanks... uhh you did good too," Razz awkwardly answers back clearly not expecting it. Though he suppose part of it was because his attention was to his phone as he was about to message for relocation. Though the sound of pokeballs as quick to stop him as the other started catching a few. [break][break]

Ah so that's how it was, "Sure," is his simple comment as he decides to take out a few pokeballs and capture whatever Grimmer he could. Though unlike the other the Ranger already made plans to release them out in the wild for later on. Wild pokemon just wanting refuge from the craziness going one wasn't something he was going to make them tools for later. [break][break]

"Though if you don't mind, I could use your... 'magic' for another poison problem in a warehouse near by, if you don't mind that is," the magic he was talking about being the weird way they brought up a MISTY TERRAIN, whether or not he'd agree after capturing as much of the Grimmer as he could to be released later he would head over to the next mission he's been assigned.
